Great review. I’m the same height 5’10 and not sure if I should go for a Medium or Large size. I got „normal” body proportions. Would you recommend size Large over Medium, like you said in video that you should have Large. Is Medium definitely too small or changing stem for longer would help? I just prefer slightly smaller frames, but coming from old geo bike I find new geo bikes sizing a little bit different, I mean old Medium bikes are Large now very often. Thank you
It’s difficult to say. I prefer the large which gives me more stability on the descents. If you really like smaller frame to flick around I would go with a medium.
Great review. How were you able to ride this comfortably? I am 5'7" and ordered a new seat post because the stock X Fusion post gets to the minimum insertion point before I get to my proper saddle height. It's about 3cm short for me. Did you find this to be an issue too? Thanks!
Thanks for review. I thinking of getting the Evo Pro 8 frame is equipped with a 190x45mm FOX rear shock. Can I swap it for the 190x40mm FOX Float Factory SL and use the Factory SC 120mm fork
I’m currently running this setup on an EVO 2022 the travel works for me. just don’t want to mess up with the new geometry and all that -thx for quick reply 👍
What are your thoughts on this bike in slower twisty single track? For my area I look at this bikes geo and do not like it. That is so slack for twisty courses. Thanks in advance.
Currently have 2023 sworks evo… amazing bike. Only faults are it’s either full open (with a tad bit of bob) or locked out, no middle action. Also the bars will hit top tube (no stopper). I’m considering the sworks epic 8 frame only option and transferring build over. What do you think, worth it? Thoughts?
@@Patriot556 if you can get a deal on the epic 8 frame, I would say yes. If you can’t I would hold onto your current bike. The extra reach is nice but not necessary.
@@jctrails Yea prob not much of deal from my LBS being that it’s such a new release.. tempting and will be thinking it over but might just hold off for now.. “for now” will see how I feel in a day or two lol. Thanks man👊
@@Patriot556I also have a 2023 Epic Evo Comp. I installed a riser bar, a 40mm stem and put all the spacers under the stem. I did it because I wanted a more upright riding position but I also solved the bar or brakes hitting the toptube problem. I really like the more upright position. I wouldn't mind if it was even little higher. The stock set up really put me in a very stooped over position. I prefer a Trailbike riding position. I set up the shock a little more firm than recommend. I've tried shocks with the middle position but I always end up liking a firm set up with the open position better. In the end, I don't think you will gain much by buying a new bike just to get 10mm more of rear travel. The geo of the 2024 Epic 8 and the 2023 Epic Evo aren't much different.
It feels like the last year evo geo wise, but the epic 8 pedals and climbs so much better (shock tune). If you’re trying to save some $ I would buy one of the last year evos and get a custom tune on the shock.
@@jctrails thanks mate. I own the last gen evo, it’s quite efficient pedaling platform. Atleast for me who is into marathon riding & less racing. Wondering how much better this regular epic is in terms of pedaling😱. Also, don’t you think this effeciency had adverse effects while going down? Apart from head angle & bit more reach does the suspension support the downhill capabilities.
