The part where you yelled with sheer happiness reminded me how much I like to ride my bike. :) I really want that helmet. I ride a lot of lonely trails and I'm always afraid something might happen to me when I'm out in the middle of nowhere and no one will find my body in time. The bicycle is great! Specialized is famous for their bikes, that's a top brand, but I already have a nice one. :) Please do more bicycle reviews in the future. I loved it! Thumbs up!

This helmet would be perfect for you! As long as you have signal strength however far off you go... But if you tell your friend your biking between those and those hours, so he/she has her phone on and volume up, you're golden. Safety gear is worth more than gold, so invest in it.

Eh, it's not that bad considering it's a Specialized. My neighbor has an electric bike, not sure what brand it is but if I recall it was over $2,000. The kind of person that buys this probably has a $10,000 watch on his hand and drives a 6 figure car, so this is a small expense for them. I mean look those Peloton treadmills are like $5,000 and people buy those.

I like just how open the tech world is to accepting bicycles as a mainstream utility vehicle. It’s super nice to see because it means people are open to endorsing using bikes everyday as transport and therefore pushes more people to start using them through new infrastructure building and inter-connectivity to human scale ideas!

I think that specialized nailed it with that bike. It’s maybe an excellent vehicle for elderly people but I don’t see it having a lot of success between younger people. The price is perfect considering that many e-bike cost 10k+. I have always loved my bike and I own a specialized epic full suspension that costs much more than a lot of used cars. I race with my bike at a professional level

I have a 15 year old Prius and a short commune. I’m looking to get something like this to ride when it’s nice weather. I’ve also considered a motor scooter 🛵 but I like the fitness factor with the e-bike. I like the SL as I believe it gives you enough power and helps keep the weight down.

I just recently found out that he knew you in real life and you guys were friends because of the Apple events. I don’t want to say his full name in the comments for his privacy, but his first name is Oscar. That is actually the reason I never considered buying an e-bike before. They are normally so heavy that riding them without the assist, is almost impossible or a real pain.

Specialized is a highly marketed brand name that works the few manufacturers over (Canada look it up) for the cheapest price, then markets at the max profit margin denoted by marketing throw at you. Just get a nice aluminum frame bike , put a magnet on it if you don't know the difference. Make it electric if you want. I charge 3 to 5 hundred dollars usually. www.freakebikes.com

I'd use it mainly to merge onto roads from trails. You can go at your own pace on a trail but I always feel obligated to blast out through a stretch of road because it's unfair to be slow with cars behind me. Electric I feel would help a lot with that.

Rethink your helmet , more speed , means potential harder fall , note their are e-bike specific helmets out their , i use an Abus pedelec + and ride a bike that can top 35+ mph

Few more things you need to do if you want to enjoy your bike ride: Go to a bicycle shop, ask the mechanic to do a 'bike fit' and setting your bike properly (tire pressure, gear adjustment, etc.)

I have a Specialized Como, 2018. It's GREAT! But it LOOKS like an e-bike, and there are a couple of rangers that have taken it upon themselves to bust e-bikers! Yours looks LESS like an e-bike. I should mention that I'm 76 years old with only ONE "natural" leg, so I can't ride a standard bike any more. My bionic leg just doesn't cut it.
