​@@sherontia5069 Thank you 🥰Oh man, haha. Obviously nothing I say is the prescribed actions for everyone, but I can say what I did do. Hopefully it'll be helpful to someone. This was a long process. I mean, I guess that's a common theme of my story haha. I did go to therapy. I think therapy made me angrier at them, which in its own way is sort of good, because then you can go through your anger emotions. Processing is always a good thing, although it can majorly suck... I did ho'oponopono for years. I did the whole forgiving myself for the things that happened in my childhood, so apologizing to my inner child, and trying to see my family is "Everyone is You Pushed Out" -- in all honesty I kinda feel like that's an area I'm pretty weak in. I have a hard time thinking of people that way. I think where the self-love helped the most was when I got to the point in my self-love where I realized that I loved myself enough to just move on. I felt like I was holding myself back from being who I could be. Since I was being haunted by the past, patterns of things I didn't want kept popping up. For example: I had social anxiety specific to being around family members, and this would come into play when I'd be around my in-laws which was bad because they get together quite frequently. Because of this I hadn't been making any progress in becoming closer with any of them in the almost two years I've been here. Every single time I've been around them (or with family in general), I spiralled. It'd be like "Oh, why can't I behave like myself when I'm around family." and "oh it's because this thing and this thing happened to me, and this family member said this to me" and then I would get frustrated that I still hadn't changed after all that time. I'd blame myself, and then my family, and then myself and then my in laws and then my family again until I stopped spiralling. Could have been days at that point. My last spiral was a few weeks long, admittedly. I also realized that I was putting my family members into these boxes based on the memories that I have of them, and I wasn't letting them grow as people in my mind. Even though they were still very much exhibiting the same behaviours, I felt like I was doing them a desservice by keeping them stuck in place. If I really loved them, I'd want the best for them, and if they were being miserable people because that's how I kept picturing them, then that might be stopping them from living out their lives in a joyful way. If I truly want them to have happiness for the remaining years of their lives, I needed to let them be happy people in my mind. As well as all that, as part of my self-love journey, as someone who is largely imperfect, I did want to forgive myself for my own past wrongs and mistakes, but I felt like I couldn't actually honestly do that without forgiving my family first. Like how could I, in my imperfection, truly feel forgiveness if I am refusing to forgive someone else's imperfections. Sorry that was really long 😅I hope that answered the question. I know that forgiving family (or anyone really) for past wrongs can be really hard, and I think for a lot of people it just happens once the person is ready to let go. Healing is definitely a journey, and I respect that some circumstances can be even more tough to deal with, so I think, if someone could take anything away from what I said, it's probably just "take your time and be patient with yourself". As long as your net movement is in the forward direction (because sometimes you do go backwards, and sideways and everywhere else at times), no matter how slow it is, you'll be golden.

From someone who has been in a toxic relationship, forget about it. You have been shown signs. Don't overlook them. If someone has a lot of anger from another relationship and who throws glasses on the phone while he's with you on the phone he will do it in your presence because his spirit has already associated you with being comfortable to throw things in your presence may it be phone presence or true presence. Please, just let it go. And he cussed at you. Forget it!!! You deserve better. Absolutely better!!! Don't look for excuses. Choose YOU.

And did he tell you the relationship was toxic and abusive or did you actually see it. From his actions it seems like he was the aggressor.

@spacebar9733 what do you mean his actions? How do you know he is the aggressor? The young lady he dated came from another abusive relationship and the final straw for him to get out wad when she stabbed him.
