I can't tell you at The Wallace Collection how much I enjoy all of your videos. You open the world to so many who will never get to see it in person.

A very enjoyable overview. We're so familiar with Canaletto's Venice that we're apt to take it for granted in much the same way we used to with Vivaldi who was a contemporary of Canaletto. Vivaldi's music is performed with such freshness and vigour today that it absolutely illuminates the city. I think Canaletto does the same, particularly the fine examples displayed at the Wallace. Thank you Dr Packer.

What sets Venics apart from other Italian cities is its eastern flavor. It feels very Byzantine, Levantine, and Italian at the same time. This makes sense since the Venetians played the role of intermediaries between Western Europe, Constantinople, Egypt, and Syria. They were great merchants, craftsmen, and bankers.
