Thanks both for bringing the adventure to the viewers. No matter what you do, I will appreciate the second helping of mine exploring each week. Cheers!
Love the old , original intro...🎉❤ Old scool Wednesdays is cool! Good to see Laura incorporate into the videos more... Im not going anywhere... Two episodes a week...yay!❤
I really enjoy the inclusion of Laura, you both really compliment the channel with your excitement in exploring. I am grateful neither of you are exploring alone, there’s hopefully greater safety in pairs. Thank you for sharing these fascinating places.
Two suggestions: 1. I'm looking forward to seeing Laura lead an exploration, just for variety. 2. I wish you guys would talk a wee bit more about what was being mined, what the remains of the vein look like, etc. This video has green stripes through it, what were they? Even if it is repetitious to long-time viewers, new folks to the channel would appreciate it, I'm sure. For example, at 29:42 of this video, is the green stripe Malachite? Hard to tell not being there... Those aren't criticisms, just ideas... Keep on making the great videos, and we'll keep on watching!
I forget how the videos were back when you started. As cool as it is to see you use the drone and all the cool tools that you have now. Having the single camera is just raw and less refined, but fun to watch. I have missed this style of video. Laura, we need to buy some rocks and get you a camera of your own for these videos! It would be fun to do split screens when y'all get into something interesting.
Two items: First, I emphasize with your neuropathy comment. I also have it mainly in my right leg - it is a PAIN at times. Second, your comment about batteries. I learned to carry spares. My buddies and I would go out to Ballarat and then into Death Valley in 1962 - 1966. We used 4D cell flashlights and carried extra batteries and bulbs. The flashlight would only fail if we were several ladder flights down. Lots of fun and several miracles that we were able to get out without too many scratches, etc. Safe exploring and I enjoy your videos!
Those little mines really make you appreciate those with big ball rooms and high ceilings. That last mine even made my back and legs hurt. Thanks for the video and stay safe to you both. See you Saturday.
Nice to have someone to take turns with, yes? I love getting 2x mine explores every week. I know it's the old "classic" intro but maybe consider adding "and Laura The Explora" after "with Gly Coolness? She deserves billing 😊
Awesome Wednesday exploration! I like any and all you do in your videos, old way, new way is great either way! Be safe out there ! See you next weekend! 👍🏻🙂
So cool seeing the gorgeous sky and then seeing it repeated in some of those tiny veins. Thanks, u 2. Looked excruciating crawling over those rocks. Ouch, poor knees.
Nice explore. Glad to see Laura and you taking turns and being careful. Loved the blue... The natural stull at 23.37 was something I'd turn into furniture of some sort if it weren't holding up the back of a mine. Thanks for taking us along!
Another great show from you both, she does such a great job it is unreal. May the channel grow y'all stay safe I look forward to each Wednesday and each Saturday God bless you both 👍👍👍👍
1st. mine: Wow! those miners dynamited thru alot to get to the "good stuff". 2nd. mine: one of you should have held the barbed wire up for each other to crawl thru instead of the squeeze around. Okay, we're going to hold you two, as said at 12:24, to the 40 lbs...ha! At 27:24, its is always hard to maneuver a ladder while holding the camera in one hand. Good job Laura! That was a tight passage. Some mineral looking veins on the side walls. Wonder if the work was worth the miners effort. You two, really put in the effort today showing us the area. Thank you.
A shame that it doesn't link up to the collapsed portal of that mine, but at least we went underground! I wish you would give just a tad more camera time to the beautiful ore deposits when you come across them, there were some nice Crisco cola in the last mine you explored some very brilliant green-blues that were a lot brighter than the remnants on the stones found in the gobbing. But ultimately they were just small incidents of it. well it's certainly nice to have an extra video to watch in the week, so thanks for that! Take care you two, and see ya on Saturday!
I always wondered what my fascination with cave exploring was, and channels that focus on it. It's like an incomprehensible draw -- a stress relief to watch people descend down the bowls of planet earth. And why mainly this channel, I wondered? I tried studying I.T at first, it was soul crushing; didn't work out. I then realized I was passionate in the outdoors, and in science. I tried Bio-tech, but it didn't quite do it for me. I switched to environmental science for a while; didn't do it for me either, getting closer though. I then became a fisherman, and considered marine Biology even, and that sport was fun for a short time. I flirted with Scuba as well, but that didn't quite do it, either. Now, in a funny twist of fate, I find myself moving from Florida to Colorado for a Geology degree, and I think back to all the years I've been watching cave exploration, whether cave diving, dry caving, climbing, mine exploring, volcanos, archeology, ancient cultures/ruins, pyramids, you name it -- and mainly this channel for mines and cave exploration -- Abandoned and Forgotten Places. I was fixated on what I ACTUALLY wanted to do. There's something special about the Geology, about the passion for history and time, of exploration, and in just appreciating the earth itself, and these portals of wonders. It has really been a major indicator for me in getting into the earth science field in the last couple months. When I was looking at other states, wanting to leave Florida, I realized the mountain regions are west. I saw the mountain terrain of Colorado, and I couldn't believe they had a Geology A.S degree that included some archeology even, at their community college. I INSTANTLY thought of this channel. I then looked into it -- oil / gas extraction and mining are major industries there; I instantly transferred my credits. Everything clicked. My bags are packed. And I have mainly this channel to thank for that. Thank you Gly!
Really liking the old school approach. I've missed it. The "new way" is too polished and while I love the drone shots, they are getting longer and longer, or so it seems. I'm a simple man.... Just get underground and explore! 😂
You want some spectacular blue you should come and explore the pipe running down the side of my water heater in the garage 😉 Good jobs as always guys 👍
That is a nice mine the third one. It looks very safe but I still would not go into a mine unless it was an actual museum attraction like Julian or Virginia City. We will go stupid places in a jeep, but underground, nope. Thanks for taking us along.
thanks for a great old school video! I was wondering how much time and how much would the total amount of money spent on explosives did the first tunnel cost?
At 23:20 that's not a kerosene can it's definitely a 1 gallon oil can - kerosene was rarely if ever used underground. Most people do think it's kerosene, so I see why you thought that! GREAT JOB!
I've watched the channel for will over a year now and think it's great that you have Laura with you now. I'm sure her knowledge and help will come in handy! I'm going to ask a favor and I don't want to come across as selfish. Could who ever is in the lead carry the camera? "Back in the day" it was just you and me exploring and now I'm just following along. Let me explain, there's a big difference between "first person and 3rd person" perspective when it comes to video. First person immerses you in the action, where in 3rd person you a spectator watching the action happen. I know first person isn't always a good option but when possible could the lead person carry the camera... (getting off soap box)
I’ve got diabetes and went from 296 to 234 by cutting out all sugar, but the best loss came from not eating after 4:00 O’clock. I sleep better, and my weight dropped to 214 Lbs! The thing that motivated me was my kids, and wanting to stick around longer for them-take this for whatever its worth Gly!
I like the Wednesday episodes good job You two nailed it. Is it possible the pack rats packed the road apples. I had a barn .I would hang a bucket on a ceiling beam ant they filled ot everyday
Gly, you only have the rest of this year to finish your training with master Yoda. Be mindful of this task, as I won't be able to remind you again. May the force be with you...always! 🔦
Remember when Prune Juice would give ya some pep in your step then they carbonated it by some Doctor! which in mine's you just don't see a lot of those cans or bottles butt a lot news papers things that make you say hummm!!! Thanks again Laura and "Gly Magic!"!😂😅
You got to remember that in these small areas may have been children 12 13 14 15 years old working in the mines in the 1840s the didn't stop child labor till the 1900s
Gly.......we LOVE Laura!!!! You need to do a lot of huggin' and kissin' and get her to stay forever!!! She is the greatest partner for these adventures!! WE LOVE YOU LAURA!!!
I would say by the sound of things (Heavy breathing) it is way past time to lose 40 pounds. Your clothes and equipment are all a tight fit. Your breathing is not the same from videos just a few years ago. It is easy for people to start "nit-pickin" but this is different. This is the sound a concerned fan makes. Please don't wait until it is too late.
By the time you guys walk all over Nevada you should loose your weight you are looking for now just change your food intake for a more healthy diet lol. Be safe my friends.
Basic, no drone footage. Straight forward, so lets go. As usual plain, still interesting. So, left it is, no rights this time. Gly just had to do it, down he goes. Laura did the same. The end. OK.
