Spectracide Bug Stop Review - How Well Does Spectracide Bug Stop Work? Like it? Then SUBSCRIBE & HIT THE BELL - / @thisisreallife #spectracide #bugstop
Your review was perfect. I just got it in today : stank to high heaven from Amazon and I thought I made a big mistake. I have been using the ortho for years and it doesn't smell but this made me choke and I thought "oh no this is wrong". But you have the same coughing choking issues I did and so and seeing it works for you gives me hope that it will work for me.
I would spray around the outside of the house and door frames and see if that works instead of spraying the inside of the house. Most are coming from the outside anyways. Just seems safer for your family, pets and yourself.
Used it for a flea infestation in my house I had been using natural powders and sprays to control but failed. This stuff got rid of them. Sprayed my whole carpet with it and floorboards. Open up the windows and wear a face mask. One thing is my dogs started vomiting after I did one room and they were not in the room I was spraying. I sent them and the wife on a 3 hour drive and they were fine when they came back.
_Emach It means it kills on contact when it’s dry. You have to follow the directions. Spraying a bug is not following the directions and therefore won’t work. It’s supposed to be a safe barrier which is why it won’t kill bugs when you spray them. If it DID kill bugs instantly when you spray them, what do you think it would do to pets? Kids? Would you really want that stuff all over your house? Most barriers like this mess with the bugs nervous system which can take a little while to work. It’s not meant to sprayed directly on bugs.
My buddy is the pesticide godfather and he says if it kills ants quickly, they die before they feed it and kill the queen. I only have an ant problem (and bad) so I’m about to find out.
Howell About No Stepped on the front porch this evening in flip flops and got bitten twice by fire ants lol. I soaked that entire area so I can tell you one thing... it does nothing after 12 hours lol
Better the ortho.i have had EXCELLENT RESULTS.saw 2 roaches outside dead.big ones.flies horribly on ground....so yeah IT WORKS.IT WILL MAKE U COUGH.it is immediately for flies.
I Just used it to kill a spider that was literally on my kitchen faucet, when I sprayed it and then head in the sink under my dishes that were drying. How do I safely clean it off my dishes or pots after accidentally spraying them? Should I just throw away the sprayed kitchen where? Should I clean it with boiling water? I don’t want any of us getting sick especially a baby. I tried calling the number on the bottle to but nobody answers and I press two to speak with an agent and it doesn’t do anything.
I just paid 3 prices for a gallon at tractor 18 n change and looked at lowes and was a third of the price but I do got a bottle and electric sprayer to use at do it yourself strong insecticide...but I think it's going to work u got to have faith r it wont work after paying 3 prices .
We have used Ortho Home Defense faithfully, year after year. This time around, it was entirely ineffective and the Ortho rep who responds to negative comments on the Home Depot site, says nothing about the fact that their product is advertised as a barrier to keep bugs away. I think we will be switching to Spectracide Bug Stop.
These things are very similar. They all work but only for about 30-90 days. Ignore the 12 month BS on the labels. They don't work that long. Also try to find out where your bugs come in and seal those areas.
@@Chimonya Behind/under kitchen cabinets. As a renter, there's nothing we can do to get Management to seal anything. That's too much work for them and above their pay grade. German cockroaches are formidable. I see one every few weeks and kill it with Bug Stop. I've piled Borax in corners and gaps between shelves and walls. We never saw a roach in 9 years until a new scummy tenant moved in next door. It's a nightmare.
I just got it today for pinch bugs I pray it works. They usually come in the back door I rent, landlord took screen door off for another house, so 3 yrs later it's in the shed. I've had problems ever since I need to move. 🙏🏼🤞🏼. I'll let you know by tomorrow or Sunday ✌🏼😮😮
You aren't kidding about needing to wear a mask when using this. I did not and by the time I had 1 room done I was coughing so hard I was gagging, my eyes were watering, my nose was running and my ribs hurt from all of the coughing and gagging. I've never experienced anything like it before. I think I'm going back to throwing pool salt all over the place for the fleas (that works great but it's more time consuming). That has got to be better for my cats than those chemicals. I still have muscle pain in my stomach and ribs from coughing and it's been hours since I pulled my moment of utter stupidity (I did it after you warned not to)
I've been using this for years anyone saying they squirt the bug directly and it didn't die is either lying or they have really bad aim not a single bug I've hit with it directly has survived longer than 30 seconds I wouldn't recommend but I use it for wasp and hornets aswell to get rid of nest the stuff is pretty good but your gonna wanna spray about 4 times a year the 12 months is referring to using it on the outdoor frames under ideal conditions very little rain and water getting in the area applied to wash it away something I've done to make my own bait traps is take some sugar pour it in a plastic cup put just enough specracide in the cup to make all the sugar wet but your not looking to dissolve the sugar your looking to trap the spectracide in the sugar crystals leave the cup somewere dry for 3 days every 24 hours give it a little stir take a second plastic cup and cover the inside with double sided tape cut off the bottom at the same place the bait is at in the first cup and stick it inside the first cup and take a third cup and cut off the bottom and flip it upside down and tape it to the top of the first two cups and put a pinch of some fresh sugar on the top don't use alot of fresh sugar and it'll kill them like a glue bait trap were they get stuck but if you forget about it for a week or to the change the cup with tape on the inside so glue part is disposable and the poison just add 2 squirts every 3 months and a pinch of sugar
No one is freaking lying. It DOES NOT kill races on contact. I nearly drowned one in this crap, and it still got away. I don't know what you are spraying, or your individual results, but Texas roaches laughs at this crap.
I have an infestation in my daughter’s room of bird mites. Bird made a nest in the air conditioner and two babies birds die inside the box. This is a nightmare is thousands of them. How often should I spray the room?
Actually, Even if a person is not supposed to spray this stuff right on an insect, I do that on spiders, because I hate them, and have arachnaphobia, and IT DOES KILL THEM ON CONTACT! I mean it may take a minute or so, but it definently does something to the bug to immobilize it. Ive done it many times.
I'm the same way, I had 2 rose bushes outside my new apartment and their is a spiders nest in there, just 20 or so big spiders so I've been trying to find out how to get rid of the rose bush and the spiders
I just bought this, I'm praying it works. I sprayed all along walls and crevices. I will update in a couple weeks if it works or not. You could spray along the outside of your house, no? That should stop the ants no? Also it says kills on contact on the front of bottle. You would think they would u tell you that on the bottle and not misinform you
This year spraying inside the house about killed me, coughing and stuff I have used it in the past but never affected me like that. Does it get more dangerous if it has been sitting on the shelf for about a year?
Nice review. I used it in my new apartment because I saw some roaches. I'll visit back the apartment in a day or two after it dries out to see if it's effective.
@@brookehill3383 nope not on roaches not at all. I sprayed it on it directly after a while roaches were still going on it like it's nothing. It works fine on small ants tho but don't use it on roaches .
Im hoping this works we bought a home we didnt know was roach and ant infested been using zevo but it just makes things oily. Works like a charm bht never fixed the issue. So i soprayed this all over the house. Heres hoping we see less and less until gone
Hi, i noticed your comment was 4 years ago and still not one reply!!! Did you call the given phone # listed on it's container, if so... what did they say? I'm calling them myself and will reply to you momentarily.. wish me luck.
Hey, it's me again. Believe it or not, i reached them and they said... "absolutely not"!!! Only spay the ground around the plant, but never on the plant. I guess it's pretty strong stuff. I'm wearing gloves, mask and eye protection.. thks
No, it kills on contact, literally. One spray on a spider and it is gone in minutes. I really hate killing anything, but spiders are a real issue in my house. They can keep their ugly nests outside where all the other bugs are. You really sprayed a lot. lol I run away when I spray just 2 squirts because I feel it in my lungs instantly.
Hi Steve. You are exactly right. Thats what I was trying to say in a comment above. Ive used it directly on spiders, and it WILL definently kill them on contact with one spray. its like the spider is going nuts and it immobilizes them! i would like to know what it exactly does to the spider.....ya know?
I can't get the hose to work and this was completely jumped over. How do I put the hose in the bottle and get it to start spraying. Mine is open and so is the nozzle spray (turned to on) but nothings coming out!! HELP PLEASE!!!
You have to pull the cord all the way out. I was having the same problem then I watched the video and forgot it comes out like that once I did that it spayed perfectly
Pull the cord out all the way it’s gotta look like his for it to work. I had the same problem earlier and couldn’t figure out what I was doing until I watched this
TO EVERYONE OUT THERE IT DOES SMELL & ITS SUPER STRONG TRY WEARING A MASK 😷 SO YOU WON'T BE COUGHING NONSTOP THAT YOUR THROAT WILL START TO HEART. BE MORE CAREFUL IF YOUR BODY IS SUPER SENSITIVE!!!
Hey everyone not does kill bugs on contact wear a mask it makes you cough and sneeze may sure you open a window and do not allow your pet in area till dry
@@ThisisRealLife yes what does that mean.i have a big German roach that I captured in a container.i spray spectricide in the container and then put the roach in it.it also has a big egg on it the roach drank the poison then started spitting it right back out. I seen the lil drops of stuff he spit back out.i put another roach in there with him to see if that roach will get some poison on him to. I put a napkin in there to soak up the wetness so its not a on contact situation.im so confused because the roach didn't die.like wtf is the problem.?
Does not kill on contact takes a while sprayed it in an apt I bearly moved in n found an infestation had to thrown a roach until it died while other look shiny since they had been sprayed and we're running away
If it doesn't kill the bug surely the cat it ok ..my cat walked directly through it really wet at my door he licked it off and now he has no fleas and black n white as snow
I've been using this for years anyone saying they squirt the bug directly and it didn't die is either lying or they have really bad aim not a single bug I've hit with it directly has survived longer than 30 seconds I wouldn't recommend but I use it for wasp and hornets aswell to get rid of nest
