Speech By King Of Bhutan & Prime Minister Modi | Bhutan's highest award 'Order of the Druk Gyalpo'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the Bhutan's highest civilian award, the 'Order of the Druk Gyalpo,' the first foreign Head of the Government to receive the honour.
The award has been conferred to Prime Minister Modi in recognition of "his outstanding contribution to the growth of India-Bhutan relations and for his distinguished service to the Bhutanese nation and people."
Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck awarded the 'Order of the Druk Glyalpo' to Prime Minister Modi.
His excellency the prime minister of India Narendra Modi is on two days official state visit Bhutan starting today. The prime minister was received by his majesty the 5th and 4th king of Bhutan at Tashicho dzong in Thimphu where he received the highest honor of award.

Bhutan has always stood with India even during the most difficult of times and India values this so much which is why PM Modi happily accepted the invitation of the Bhutanese Govt. His Majesty the King of Bhutan has always ensured that the friendship between India and Bhutan grows deeper roots and this award to PM Modi is a testimony to that. Bhutan and Sikkim have deep relations. Yearly thousand of Bhutanese visit Sikkim as religious pilgrimage. In my opinion if both nations agree to build underground Metro connectivity, within just 2 hours can travel Bhutan to Sikkim & both nations can enjoy tourism industry and P to P relationship more rapidly .
