This is the dumbest therapy everI have problems talking and have been speechless at times. Talking is essentially breathing out. Breathing is coordinated by your diaphragm and abdominal muscles. There is also your upper airway that helps I breathe which is your pharynx and larynx. It is your pharyngeal muscles that help that. I press on my front of the neck and diaphragm and the speech comes back and tongue control gets better. This is so stupid
Peanut gallery. MND affects facial and vocal muscles. These help stimulate them (though may wear them out for advanced sufferers). Grow some humanity or get back in your cage
Obviously gaining strength through breathing helps, but it also makes sense that when muscles are excersized they get stronger, and it helps my wife to pronounce words better. Example: When I walked my wife to the bathroom from behind with my hands under her arms, she yelled out "Lift". And as I kept lifting her, it kept hurting her and she kept crying out "Lift". Later I realized she was telling me to move her to the "Left" If the patients mouth barely opens, you will hear "Lift" even though they are saying "Left" And if the mouth opens wider like a big smile you will hear "Left"
