My son has autism. It’s very challenging and rewarding to have a child with special needs. Luckily, we are residing here in America so resources are ampul . My son gives me a lot of joy . I admire your dedication. It’s hard for people to understand the love and patience we give.

Hello Quintine and Miss Candy. Magsuggest lang po ako sana sa next theraphy ni teacher maguse sya ng mask na visible po yung bibig nya (meron pong nabibili nun sa online shop) para makikita po ni Quintin ang yung pagbuka ng bibig ni teacher when she is pronouncing or conversing the words or phrases to Quintine. Aside po sa listening skill very helpful po sa speech development ng bata na magvisualize nila ang pagbuka ng bibig to utter words. Naifeature na po kasi sa ibang bansa ang advantage ng paggamit ng mga teacher sa mask na may transparent yung sa bibig sa pagaaral ng language and phonics para sa mga bata

This is a great suggestion but unfortunately, the available masks here in the Philippines that show the visibility of the mouth will provide decreased protection for the therapist and the child as these are fabric-made compared to surgical masks. As stated in this article: wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/10/20-0948_article "The filtration effectiveness of cloth masks is generally lower than that of medical masks and respirators; however, cloth masks may provide some protection if well designed and used correctly. Multilayer cloth masks, designed to fit around the face and made of water-resistant fabric with a high number of threads and finer weave, may provide reasonable protection. Until a cloth mask design is proven to be equally effective as a medical or N95 mask, wearing cloth masks should not be mandated for healthcare workers." It's highly likely that this was considered by the speech therapist however SAFETY FIRST. Best pa rin ang disposable surgical or KN95 masks especially talking would result in droplets aka possibility of COVID-19 transmission. Just my two cents. :)
