So, I don't know if you're a believer or not, and I'm not asking...I am and I want your mama heart to know that God is bigger than any disease, He's THE healer and the God of the impossible. I sat here in tears watching this today. Those tears were not of happiness or sadness but rather of AWE at the support his department and his fellow Emergency Services people are giving Ray and your family. That caused me to think about a piece of poetry my mother wrote back in the 1970's and another piece she found uplifting when she was diagnosed with GBM (Glioblastoma Multiforme - brain cancer). I'll start with the one she found uplifting; it's called "What Cancer can't do" Cancer is so limited... It cannot cripple LOVE, It cannot shatter HOPE, It cannot corrode FAITH, It cannot eat away PEACE, It cannot destroy CONFIDENCE, It cannot kill FRIENDSHIP, It cannot shut out MEMORIES, It cannot silence COURAGE, It cannot invade the SOUL, It cannot reduce Eternal LIFE, It cannot quench the SPIRIT, It cannot lessen the power of the RESURRECTION. Why must I bear this pain? I cannot tell; I only know my Lord does all things well. And so I trust in God, my All in All For he will bring me through, Whate'er befall. (Smith) Our greatest enemy is not disease but despair. Do NOT let despair "win" this fight.

I’m so happy to see that Ray has that kind of support. And it is so clear that his is such a special person because he was raised by such a special mother. Remember to take time for yourself to cry and grieve the situation so that you can stay the strong loving mother we all know you are. Keep sharing your amazing creativity with us all so that you have a positive outlet for all your feelings. You are amazing! Lots of love to you all.💚

My husband became paralyzed and lost his ability to eat and speak. The help we had received was overwhelming and no words. We just felt Gods spirit. My husband was the man bread winner and we now were living on only $900 a month and we could have lost our home! I am so happy that Ray received these awesome journals. To steal a phrase from you Kelly, "Oh, my word!" I was so touched by the outpouring of Ray's co-workers. I had health issues in 2021 that knocked that year off of the calendar for me. While it continued into 2022, I kept inching slowly towards getting better. Here we are in 2023 and I am feeling fantastic and on the other side. I can't wait for Ray to get there! I don't know how I missed this unbelievable Act of Kindness for Ray, almost a year ago. What his department did for him was surreal. Nowadays, we see too much sadness and anger in the news. To see this support and all who gave of their time and to bring him positive energy, just tugged at my heart strings. I watched the whole parade, with tears in my eyes. I'm sure this was something Ray and his family will never forget. (I know I won't either.) God Bless Ray! Sending prayers to ALL of you!

I'm so sorry Ray is having a tough time. As a stage 3 cancer surviver for 10 years, I understand the feelings Ray is going through. He has to stay as positive & have good a attitude, it does help.
