Hi! My name is Matt and I work for SpeedBeez! Thanks for the product review! Our loaders were designed for range days, not conceal carry. We just like going out the range and having a good time. One thing that really makes our products fun are the loading blocks! They make loading and reloading so much quicker! We'd love to send you one, free of charge, just for taking the time to review our product! Send me a message and we'll get in contact if you like. Thanks!

can vouch for the Speedbeez loading block, very convinient for shooting range. Where i live the shooting range cost is quite high, i don't want to waste half my time reloading bullets into the speedloader/revolver. Loading block really helps with that, i can prepare the bullets in the loading block at home and minimize reloading time in range.

I use the speedbeez belt pouch w/loaders for EDC my S&W model 69. I never have a problem. I open carry most of the time & the speedbeez rigs do well with that too. I didn't think they were made for just the range. You guys make fanatic products that work well & look good too. I mean, that L-Frame wheel gun speed rig I have looks really bad ass while working really well.

I bought a Speed Beez with the carrying case and it didn't fit my new 327 because the original wooden grips on the 327 are too thick. I'll have to get thinner grips for it to work. Looking for another loader because I like the grips!

I think another thing to consider is carry in town or carry in the woods. The SL variant is better for town carry during fair weather. For bear defense or defense against dangerous animals I would want a simpler design without any springs or plastic so they don't crack in cold weather. Also being able to break free frost or ice. I always carry the 5 star loader for bear defense I would trust my life to it.

I've tried the HKS, Safariland Comp III, and Speed Beez speed loaders, and the Speed Beez (when used with its own loading block) is BY FAR the fastest and easiest on my hands. No hard shoves and twists, just click the rounds in, and gently slap them into the cylinder. Yes they're pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The Speed Beez speed loaders are very well built and don't have that "plastic toy" feel to them.

I tried one of these with a Model 60-15. It would not reliably release rounds, and the retaining spring scratched the hell out of the S&W mark. Just my one data point, but this product is squarely in the "advise others to avoid" category, in my book.

After looking at their website and how the rounds are not locked into place. My thoughts are the speedbeez are Ment for range use only. I think you are supposed to purchase a bunch of their locking trays that arrange and hold the rounds in place and 1 loader and use it when you are at the range. Just my 2 cents.

I bought a set with the loading blocks for my lcr in 22 and a set for my lcr 357. I bought them on a whim becouse a don't like the 5 star for some of the same reasons you stated but also becouse they turn the wrong way than the hks which I'm used to using forever. The speed beez in 22 are awsome! The ones for the 357 not so much. The lcr 22 is hard to find a loader for. This one is different than the bigger centerfire speedbeez loaders and works better. I carried the 22 loader in my pocket now for 2 weeks in summer shorts and only once did I loose a round. It was only 1 round and the loader still works just minus one round. No big deal. They are small and light and easy to carry. Much easier than a 5 shot 38 hks. With the hks when you lose a round you lose all of them becouse the Handle turned in your pocket. I therfore carry hks loaders in a belt carrier. The speed bees in 38/357 were too bulky in the pocket and I couldn't get my belt pouch to work with it so I will stick with hks for the 357 but they both are great for the range. I shot way too much ammo last weekend becouse it was so fast and easy to shoot.... from the research I did the speedbeez are a direct ripoff of the old Dade loader. I recommend them for the 22 versions not the center fire ones. Unless they are only for range work then they are great. Just get the loading blocks also

I'm going to get one of these for my LCR (present carry gun). My rationale is that I'm not finding any Variant loaders on the market, the LCR SB model isn't too wide (I believe the diameter is a tad less than the HKS loader, and I'm also going to get Jox speed loader pouch to carry it, so I won't be too worried about individual rounds falling out. I'm also probably going to get one of these for a S&W 686P (which I'll be buying before the end of the year). They actually don't seem to be that much bulkier than the HKS loaders.

I have 3 Speed Breez loaders for my LCRs. They work great for brass casings. However, I bought Speer 135 grain Hollow Points nickel casings for 38 Special and shells WOULD NOT RELEASE. I had been carrying the nickel casings for a while before I discovered the problem. Now I carry brass casings in them and they work great.

@danielwatters1203
@danielwatters1203 9 лет назад
Speed Density Everything old is new again. Yes, it is basically a Dade with a larger handle. The Maxfire is essentially a variant of the old Kubik Loader of the 1970s, which was inspired by a design from the 1930s. While we are reviving old speedloader designs, how about the old Bye Loader? The old Kel-Lite Loader was neat, sort of like a Bianchi Speed Strip crossed with a conventional speedloader. You inserted all of the rounds in the cylinder at once and then peeled off the loader. FWIW: The SL Variant patent has expired. www.google.com/patents/US5953845?cl=en

***** Yep to what Daniel says, I still have about 5 of those old dades left from the late 70's early 80's era when I was airport security at L.A.X for continental airlines ( carried a charter arms bulldog 44 special), man I just got to ask where the heck are you hanging out, and what are you doing that someone wonders about the noise coming from your pockets---my answer to them would either be --none of your stinking business --or wouldn't you like to know-- of course if your playing just a little too much pocket pool-- and it's making those kind of noises--- then just maybe that would or should raise some curiosity lol---just teasing my friend lol--personally I gave up on all speed loaders a long time ago, now I prefer to carry a combination of either my model 60 pro series (always carried right hip iwb) then add either my model 360pd or any one of my 7 different snubby jframe 38's either ankle/iwb left hip/or even pocket carried, (YES I do love the jframes), then carry one 8shot speed strip, I prefer this type of arrangement as it gives the option of a back up weapon in the event of a failure (believe it or not if you carry even revolvers long enough you will have a failure at some point, it's happened to me at least twice now, once on a model 19 the hammer spring snapped right at the hammer, and just recently on my beloved little 60 pro, I was doing some shooting drills and shot one cylinder full--did the speed reload thing-- went to close the cylinder and it wouldn't close-- and low and behold discovered that the firing pin had broke just after the return spring, and the little end of it was not returning as it should-- it was an aftermarket pin, by a company that shall remain nameless, because they took care of the issue and were very sorry about it happening, but it did cause me to not trust that one again, but my best suggestion to anyone that would ask me about the speed loader thing, would be skip it carry the strips and a back up weapon if your going to any area that just might warrant it, after all it's darn quick to just grab another gun, and in the case of carrying 2--5shot 357's for a total of 10 very quick rounds of pretty nasty fire power that's pretty hard to beat (even if the back up is just 38 special that's still plenty), and in your case with the 8 shooter that's 13 cylinders of nasty. take care my friend.

Here's the problem I am having with SL Variant. You can't find them here. Unfortunately, they are notoriously difficult to find. The S.L. Variant is manufactured in Germany. Though they are imported to the U.S., importation happens infrequently and in small numbers. Speed Beez on the other hand are easily found. (amazon, etc)
@coreyholsinger4675

Finding them is even harder now. They closed up shop. Will never be made again. Extremely hard to find now. I am a FFL dealer and have a distributor connection in Denmark who bought one of the last batches of them ever made. He can get me the N Frame 44 magnum ones and the J Frame .38 special/.357 magnum ones. Costs me about 130 dollars a piece but so worth it. I have one for every revolver I own. They are the holy grail of speedloaders. I can ship you one for 150 if you really want one. Can use PayPal. 😊

first off if you're going to compare two items, compare equal items. you talk about how bulky the speed Beez is however you're comparing an 8 round versus a 5 round reloader. also consider the speed Beez is not designed for concealed carry as stated by the company so why would you talk about using it for concealed carry.

fire1777 I have been told SL use to make an 8-shot loader! But I can't find it anywhere. And yeah using your CC on a foreign site might prove difficult. I've heard from many that have tried to order from Nil Grips (Germany) and most of the times their CC is declined. You have to call your CC to let them know its a real charge. Also someone told me there are other fees associated and conversation rates!??! Sounds more trouble than its worth.

I'm wondering ... do you really feel like the Variant is something you'd be comfortable carrying? I'm not disagreeing with your review, because you obviously know what you're talking about, but ... I think I'd like to get a 50-round Speed Beez loading block to take my LCR to the range, but I don't think either of these spring-loaded thingies is something I'd want to stick in my purse :)

@@Josh47147 I was more referring to dependability in stressful situations. I think it'd be nice at the range, but the springs make it seem a bit more fiddly than a regular one. Raquel Foster the sl variant is extremely reliable and won’t drop rd’s at all. They closed up shop and can’t hardly find them anymore. @mosesjones4853
@mosesjones4853 9 лет назад
I have an SL variant, it is good, especially in the loading category, but the jet loader by buffer technology is slightly better in deployment. Although superior than HKS, the SL variant holds the rounds at a point where when you are loading in a hurry the rounds can bind a little bit, which can slow down the ability to load. When fully loaded take two rounds and pinch them together and you will see what I mean. When you compare this to the jet loader, you will see a big difference. The Jet loader holds the rounds much deeper and you can't pinch the rounds as much adding in your ability to load well under pressure. I would recommend getting one to try it out and I would enjoy seeing your opinion on them. Here is the URL www.buffertech.com/JetLoader-J-Frame-Revolver-Speed-Loader-P40.aspx

All I know of Speed Beez is that they are the only Speed loaders for Ruger 22lr revolvers in either 8 or ten shot variants and is meant for just making reloads while plinking faster. As for duty carry and concealed carry I still use HKS as they are the most available and reliable...still on the fence about safari land comps.

I am a FFL dealer and have a distributor connection in Denmark who bought one of the last batches of them ever made. ( they closed up shop) He can get me a few of the N Frame 44 magnum ones and the J Frame .38 special/.357 magnum ones. Costs me about 130 dollars a piece but so worth it. I have one for every revolver I own. They are the holy grail of speedloaders. I can ship you one for 150 if you really want one. Can use PayPal. 😊
