Jeff, you won;t be disappointed. I've had the 2020 black RS 1050 from almost new, and it is just the most amazing bike for every day riding. It never fails to thrill every time I ride it, but it is practical and easy to maintain. It just looks right. I want to say thanks for taking us through this rebuild - it will become a reference to everyone that owns one of these. There is hardy any content on the late model Speedys out there, and none that I've seen showing a full re-build. If you have detailed footage of checking the valve clearances, this would be very welcome for those servicing and maintaining at home. Triumph dealers charge a fortune to do this work, and from what I've read, very few bikes are found to be outside tolerance.

Yeah as I was making this series and learning more about the bike I too realized there really is no video content out there about this model; It's all the hype around the 1200. As for detailed footage of the valve clearance check I don't have much other than just me doing it but I could make a voice-over walk-through video of how I did it.

Love this, hope you enjoy your triumph. Its an incredible bike. I can't go back to Japanese bikes after having a few euro bikes. I currently have a street triple rs and its an amazing bike. I really want to upgrade to the speed triple 1200 though. Triumph bikes are beautiful and full of character. Definitely one of the best one and only bikes. I want the 1200 for the cruise control. But the 2020 is one of the best bikes ever made imo.

You’re so right, ever since experience this speed triple I few all bikes as compared to this one, I’m ruined lol and yea the new speedy looks awesome but I’m with you I think this one’s better!

I have the same, thank you for all these images. Hard to find a real technical doc for this bike. I’m not a mechanic so it’s really nice to see all the internal details. Of course I will never try to open my engine, even for a valve check! This is a fantastic bike and I do not think I will replace it with the new 1200 in a few years. It would be wonderfull if Triumph decided to restart its production 😂

Awesome glad I could help lol and yea it’s never a exciting time when you have to open a crank case but when it’s all done and you start it for the first time and it doesn’t explode…. That’s a rush lol

Very cool use of the C-spanner at 1 min 15s to sort out one of the engine mounting points.

Yeah I was looking around for a flat head that size to do the job but could not find one and I wanted to avoid buying the expensive OEM socket tool because they only required something like 5-8 nm of torque, and in the last moment before I broke down and bought it I said let me look at the on board tools lol it was an almost perfect fit.

The work you have done is impressive, congratulations, it is true that it is very difficult to find information about this motorcycle and your videos will help us enormously, thank you for the work. Luckily I am also the owner of a 2020 Speed Triple 1050 RS and for me it is the perfect motorcycle for versatility, it is good for day to day, for a road trip or for a weekend of circuit runs. I had the opportunity to buy this or the 1200 but in my opinion the 1050 is the last speed triple with the essence that made them great. Enjoy it, I assure you that every day it will make you smile at some point. All the best.

I’m glad these videos will help out current and future owners and to hear even when given the opportunity you chose this model over the new version, just showcases how the newest thing isn’t always better. And you are right I’m now truly excited every time I get to go ride. Cheers!

It probably doesn't make a difference, but on my 2016, the battery stands up with the positive lead on the front right corner. 18:55

You shouldn't have reused the header gaskets. They are 1 time use copper crush washers. You can hear the exhaust leaks very clearly.
