This week's video breaks down the "negative step," a fantastic first step technique to beat your defender, and walks you through a full workout on how to improve it, physically and neurologically.

John Johnnyson yeah but there are many other subtle ways to place contact to gain an advantage. A lot of us don’t even see it. Do I wonder if by and means can find some ways.
I use to have an amazing first step, but after not playing basketball for literally 1 day, I can’t blow past my defenders now. This video will definitely help me.
Damn.... I never needed most of these workout because as a kid Playing Tag, BOMBS AWAY, Super Suicide, football etc. Worked all the muscles in your body. It was when I got older I needed these drills to maintain it. I played against dudes who had crazy first steps without all the work outs who seemed like they had it naturally. Today's kids are sheltered YMCA ballers who believe skills can be obtained thru mimicry and not practice and working out this why if you look closely.. Dudes don't have first steps.. They just have defenders who are scared to get crossed. Great video and analysis
Kodak Cuttin Up 😂😂 I remember the first time I got crossed.. Then the first and last time I got dropped lol. Never lost confidence in my defense.. Shit made me work harder to understand the nuances
Best video I’ve seen in a while for basketball. Actual movements that are useful and works. Great job! Adding this to my workouts and will give feedback. I’m a pro hooper.
This content is absolutely amazing, well done. It builds on clear, concise, basic fundamental mechanics. There's no more rapid path to mastery than logical progression.
Man i have been waiting for the day you come out with audio-visual commentary and I knew it was gonna be so efficient. Please do this more, your channel would definitely grow exponentially. Quality stuff as always my friend.
I have a great first step, that's one of my talents my coach told me (he was really talking about my speed), but this is definitely a great tutorial. I think this might actually help me make better use of my first step.

this channel is so fucking underrated it annoys me it irritate me and it angers me how is this guy on 132k subs u do not understand how much you have helped my game i have started playing basketball over a year ago or something and my game would be no where near as good if it weren't for your vids my coach even thinks ive been playing for years and always says that i already show pro level tendency
Yo were i cand send my questions. Either way my question is that if you can be too flexible, i can tiuch my toes with my forearm, and for exmple when trying to accelerate you usually see people with their heels up but dorsiflexed but my heel goes first just because how much my tendon can flex, and the same happens with the jumpshot, i always plant heel first even in a situation like you put with jimmy butler, because my tendons and muscles are too elastic. I feel a little like fluffy and im not very athletic. Is this habit (planting first ball of foot and nkt heel) that you have you develop or something that you have or dont have
