That's a really weird switch. You shouldn't be doing ANY page layout in Power Point. Only slide layout. Those are two completely different tools that do completely different things.

Rachel, this is very helpful. I wish you would do some tutorials about working with Adobe publisher. I started subscribing to Adobe a-month are so ago because as an educator I got a great price. Now I need help figuring out how to do some quality low content books. I know what I want to do I’m just struggling with how to do them on adobe illustrator and/ or Adobe Indesign.

I created my interior in individual pages. Now I want to change the font styles. Do I have to reopen and change each individual page or is there a way to set the styles up and open the files so I don't have to change all the settings for each file? I hope that makes sense

Question... (On a Mac) I'm creating a series of portfolio files for my photography. Each file is 45+ pages. Simple and low-content. I need to compare each file so I'm not repeating images.... Is there a way to open 2 Publisher documents at the same time? I know I can get to other open files by going through 'view' but I'd like to be able to see contents side-by-side. In InDesign I can click and drag a 2nd document and have both open. Thanks !!

Hi Rachel, I'm struggling to find a examples of templates that you are using. I can pay for them. I want to use for practise. I have some templates on pdf format but it seems I cannot edit text but I can add the new text. Could you help ?

How can you create a "paragraph" style for just dotted lines? I know there are slight difference between Publisher and InDesign. In Indesign when you add a new paragraph style it opens up the "paragraph style options" box. Within that box there is a "paragraph rules" tab. Within that tab there is a drop down called "type". From that drop down you can select different types of lines (dotted, solid, dash, etc). You can also change the color and width. I would like to have a preset for dotted lines. It would be more helpful than using the pen tool, creating and measuring numerous lines and auto adjusting. Have you found the equivalent in Publisher? I am asking because I just had the hardest time creating my appointment section of my planner. I wanted to created a style with my dotted lines, open up a text box, turn on the style, enter a date then hit tab (or enter) to have my dotted lines to autofill. Please advise.

Hi Nicole! I haven't come across that yet, but imagine it's possible, as I haven't yet found anything that InDesign does that Publisher can't. I'd try Googling it.

Hi Thank you so much for even sharing this information with us. I was just wondering as a person who is thinking of creating low content books, is this still a marketable thing to get into on Amazon? Or would I just be wasting time? I'm really trying to make a living online and I know that by the time info gets on RU-vid, it's already a saturated niche. Please be honest. Thanks again.

Hi Denise, many LC publishers are still earning full time incomes on KDP. The trick is the put the time and effort into creating a quality book that real customers want. That means doing proper research and avoiding overly saturated niches. The people that are willing to go the extra mile will always be able to leverage this business model for themselves.

There will always be room for LC publishers who spend time doing proper research and creating high quality books that real customers are looking for. You've just got to follow the trends and avoid doing what everyone else is doing.

When wanting to edit an interior you bought...do you have to upload only one individual page one by one and edit fonts or can you upload the entire interior document and apply these font changes across the entire document all at one time once you have edited at least one of the pages? Sorry if this seems very stupid and obvious. I am new to affinity and kdp so not sure how to edit fonts to a planner or a recipe book interior where I don't have to go page by page individually. I don't know how to use master page so hoping this method you are demonstrating in the video will apply the changes across all pages.

If you can do a video in your private course group for how to edit/customize purchased interiors simply, using affinity publisher that would really be soooo helpful. Or...just do one here for everyone. :)

If you've got a PDF template, you can place the entire document, but you won't be able to update the fonts all at once unless you apply text styles to all of the text first. Basically you'd have to create your text styles, then apply them to the existing text. Master pages are helpful in this situation-if you want to learn more about master pages, I have a video on those as well!
