These shoes were NOT given to me for review. I paid for them with my own money and they will not know about this review until it comes out.

The average person urinates 60 OUNCES of urine per day. The average person is several pounds overweight. The average person has a bowel movement that can weigh what 3 pair of running shoes weigh. If you are hung up on the weight of the shoes you’re not focusing on the more important aspects of performance. How many times have we seen the person on the 23lb bike smoke the rich dude on the 17lb bike? Often!

Good review -- seems sincere, good content, solid caveats, even admit where there's fanboy and not. Well done.

Thank you! I still love the Speedland PDX, but only like the TAM. The width and weight make for awkward moments on the rocky mountain trails where I live. The Hoka Tecton X and X2 are more comfortable and agile, and the plate in those shoes works better. The Naked T/r runs better, too, for distances less than 50 miles. Keep up your reviews!

Agreed, the TAM is not good for technical mountain trails - definitely made for and better for buffed-out trail cruising.

One look and i go "oh, is that a Caldera 6?" Which brings to mind... i wonder how they stack up against each other? Minus the speedlaces and carbitex, I think the tam will be pretty similar with the calderas with the latter being a bit softer due the dna loft v3. Cheers

after a bit of mileage how’s the outsole and lugs/tread holding up? I’ve been interested in these for a bit and saw another review where the outsole is wearing out fast

Over 150 miles on them and they looks good to me. Minimal wear. No road miles. I show updates of all my shoes on my Instagram at 50 mile increments.

Price is what you pay and value is what you receive. The only question worth considering is, did I get my money’s worth? With the Speedlands the answer is yes. It’s a bespoke no compromise shoe. Yes it’s expensive but the best always is. A Honda Civic and a Bugatti both get you to the 7-11. Butttttttt, if you don’t know I can’t help you.

Better than expected. Just raced a 60k in the pouring rain. People were sliding all over the place. Between grip and drainage hole at the bottom I def felt that I had an advantage. Then again many other trail shoes were going great as well. After that race I ordered the new PSH’s
