Taking my Speedmaster 1200 to get decated. It made me regret it immediately. The mechanic shop is LCR motorcycles, great old school mechanics at a very fair price.
That's so true mate. I've been riding for over 15 years. On each bike first thing I did was to replace whole exhaust system. I wouldn't be alive by now without loud pipes.
Definitely need baffles!! Do not decat the speedmaster!! 😂 Best balance I’ve found is keeping the cat and having open slip ons… I had open pipes and a decat on my Thruxton and it sounded broken…
I read from some of your previous comments that you changed your bike back to the original pipes, but jeese it is loud in this video. The noise could shatter shop and office windows, make children cry, silence a brass band, crikey that was loud. You would be deaf in no time if you didn't have good ear plugs! I would ride through the Blackwall tunnel several times. You'd probably attract a lot of attention from the police as well. Probably would fail a roadside noise test by some margin meaning you get a big fine and told to fix it asap or prohibition riding it.
These are not original pipes. These are a British brand which makes them identtical to the originals. The sound is fantastic at the right spot to my liking.
Now that you have removed the cat and went with straight pipes you need to retune the bike. Reach out to Drop A Gear in the USA. He did his and it turned out wicked smooth and fast. The dyno runs where smooth and gained 10hp/10torque.
The slash cut, I installed it myself, they installed the Motone XPipe for me. I don’t recommend the British Custom though, it turned yellow after a month in an ugly and obvious way. I had to take it off.
