Speedrunning the NEW Duolingo Music Course! 

I’ve been playing piano for 22 years, have a music B.A., and I’m going to grad school for music therapy. I’ve been doing Duolingo music for fun, and the beginning is way to slow for me, but probably good for a beginner, but like you said they don’t explain anything like what time signatures mean, what different notes mean, and the songs annoy me because they don’t always play the melody which is what you expect when you play piano (they have the melody in the background and you’re the harmony). Overall I like playing the songs just for fun and it’s easy to keep my streak that way. I think they can improve on this, and I hate the touch keyboard since real pianos you don’t mess up if you touch the wrong note. It’s only when you press the key does it make noise

I'm using Duolingo Music now and as someone who always wanted to learn music I think it is a great way to break the ice. I do think it is unfortunate they don't go more in depth in the training but I definitely feel more confident to buy a small keyboard now to practice!
