a solution for the heavy lid on the storm shelter was a counter weight, it works well and continues the safety of having a heavy lid to keep us safe :)
@@KeeperofTheMountain lol, i know all too well the wet weather there, was just stating an alternative for someone else that may want to keep the door heavy for whatever reason.
On the boat tail :omg sheet metal building from scratch 😮 .. on the garage: getting a good glue lam beam that long is going to be expensive 😮.. on the basement: sump pumps always go bad when you need them most 😮 ... On a serious note id probably get a 1 hp pool pump and a float switch so it can be out side of the basement and never have to get in the water to work on it.. I'd probably also leave the wall and just pour a slab floor in the garage.. spend less time on the icky stuff so you can get back to working on the important stuff 😂
I am excited about the body build for sure. On the beam, I have a bunch of 2x10x20 ish. My plan is to glue and nail 3 of them together and make my own beam. I also already have most of the wood floor. It should be less painful than the basement.
I spent 60 years putting off the car for more important things that ended up not making much of a difference. I enjoy working on the car. I will keep doing a little every day because a lot of littles make a big.
@KeeperofTheMountain having a hobby is fun, but couldn't you have found a boat tail body already made lol...I like fabricating small jobs out of metal, but nothing too crazy.
