@1:09 you begin to explain, "your old-school 70's cars that have mechanical speedometers"...... But does not explain if it will or will not work with mechanical speedometers. The answer is, a electronic signal will not drive a mechanically driven speedometer. (cable driven speedometers will not work)
So I have a Burgman 400 that 425 cc it's not running the stock tire size on the front which is where a magnet speedometer gear is interfaced with the rim and a magnetic pickup that reads the magnet gear and sends it to the speedometer, I want to put the speedometer on GPS because it is right now saying I'm doing 80mph at when I'm doing 68mph which is partially thanks to the way Sezuki sets up their speedometers to read faster than actual speed but that leads to the bike saying it has more miles on it than it actually does so even though the bigger tire has reduced the speed reading closer to actual speed it still is reading significantly faster than actual speed. Would love for a tutorial on wiring up on my bike which I will also be getting a Burgman 650 and a CBR1100XX Blackbird soon so knowing how to wire this unit up on a bike would be nice. Thanks for your help if you can help a brother out.
Hey Pat I recently bought and old dune buggy and the speedo doesn’t work , it has a cable from the front wheel to a sender unit with4 wires , will this gps unit work for me ?
Yes, this unit is a great substitute for anyone having issues with a mechanical gauge reading properly, due to changes in the size of tires or gearing. This sending unit will work with most electronic speedometers, which should make installation a breeze.
Could someone please send me a diagram showing how to connect this with my 5 inch omega electric speedometer with the 4 and 6 pin connectors? I have called and they always send me someplace else. Why is this so difficult? Do you want me to spend more money with you speedway motors?
The GPS sender is designed for electronic speedometers that require either 8K or 16K ppm signal which you will need to verify is what your speedometer requires.
