I'm watching your videos. They are very helpful. I am new to car restoration. I have a 1936 ford 5 window coupe my wife and i inherited. there are no shocks on it in the back and the ones on original ones on the front are there but are so rusty I'm not sure they do any good.
Heard through reliable sources that friction shocks are a cool piece that work well on a VW trike build.Might want to look into fabbin up the necessary mount kits for this app too
Shock absorbers have changed over the years and the friction shocks like offered by Speedway under numbers 5606021 or 92536001 are still available for lighter vehicles such as T buckets and roadsters up to approximately 2500#. Dampening is adjusted by tightening the pressure on the friction disc between two metal parts which are the mounting plate and the actual shock arm.
@@speedwaymotors I have Houdailles on my 42 Ford 1.5ton 'jailbar', they were on the rear too with auxiliary springs. I need to replace the bushings but maan I cannot find them anywhere...I'm thinking of making my own...unless you know of any. 👍♠️
