Speedy Keen had been the drummer, vocalist and main songwriter in Thunderclap Newman, who had one big hit "Something In the Air", produced by Pete Townshend. Speedy had been Townhend's driver and roommate during the early days of The Who and you hear a lot of Pete's influence in his songs.
