Spektrum 6250HX tuning on the Blade Fusion 480 Stretch

Made it out to the flying field for some tuning on the new 6250HX from Spektrum on the Fusion 480 Stretch! Here is the process of me going through some tune flights and a rundown of how I go about the process of tuning a heli. So far this flight controller has proven to be really easy when it comes to both setup and tuning, especially through the Forward Programming right through the radio!

Thank you so much for this video tutorial! Just finished building a Kraken 700 a few days ago and I'm using this same fbl receiver. I'm having the same bobble issue but dont know how to get rid of it. There are so many different tuning options in the Forward Programing menu I didnt even know where to begin. Gonna try some of your setting today after work. Just subscribed.

Thanks man! Yeah like I said this method of setup is different to me compared to the BeastX and other FBL units out there, but I am really liking this unit a lot. The menus are very simple with the forward programming. Keep up the good videos! I enjoy watching them :)

I know this is an old video but I'm still looking to buy this heli combo, its so cool.. You have an injury on you finger, did you get bit by one of your R/C helis or planes? Which is common in this hobby!!

Hi ethan, I am a 3d pilot with a 6250hx on my heli: my dual rate is at 100% and I feel my heli is not enough fast off my cyclic input to do smack 3d: where can I ajust that? In the manual, its suppose to have Cyclic response tunning! Both I dont find it! Thanks

Hey Ethan great video! I'm tuning my Fusion and it seems to drift pretty aggressively when I nail the tail left or right. Does that have something to do with my cyclic? Also the tail seems to stop good when yaw left hard but when i yaw right hard it seems to stop then wag back a couple inches..

One you completed the setup did you have any issue with your tail slider constantly going to one side of the shaft with out stick movements? As I’m acing that issue and not sure if that’s normal with this receiver or not. Thanks

Ryonide A are you sure it’s not the gyro trying to correct? What happens when you move it back to center? Does it still want to move out?

Thanks for this video. I am still a bit new to helicopter and there some language that I don't fully understand. When you are tuning with Forward Programming, there are the Proportional, Integrated, and Derivative settings. I cannot find anything in the forward programming documentation that explains what these parameters actually control. Can you explain, or perhaps even make a video that explains PID? Thanks

Not whining - just clarifying: at the 7:00 mark you are adjusting PID to reduce 'bobble". You are changing the values in NORMAL mode...but you are flying in FM2. This seems wrong. Is it? Do the settings under NORMAL affect the flight performance in a mode *other than* NORMAL?

Yes it’s wrong, but idk if that was invented when this gyro came out. On one of the pages there is a value for gain and another. Set that to gyro and aux 2. Basically set it to whatever will make you see different flight modes in PID menu. Also, good luck, this unit is terrible.

Hi Ethan, Im confused. Just got a 3cell version of the (360 fusion) Flew it twice and ordered the 6 cell motor and pinion...lol Anyway trying to dial it in and TONY at horizon told me the AGILITY setting goes as follows (Higher the number the more AGILE it gets Less robotic) I want to feel it very locked in and connected ... SO explain the agility setting please. NOTE: The spektrum download for the model was HORRIBLE ...shakes and wobbles right out of the box...Slow and mushy collective, slow cyclic as well. hope the 6 cell is better!

Nice info. My tail bends/banks down when I punch the heli up& down heavily. What optimization should I do !? My heli is mechanically setup fine .

Thanks! First I’d try raising the cyclic P gain. Sounds like it’s not quite enough

@@EthanAter thank you for the reply. For Pitch it’s now : 85 85 7 Roll: 85 85 14. Increasing more make things very sensitive. Heli behaves like a dolphin , when punching hard it goes nose up, and as I bring it back the tail is already bent down . I also tried Agility from 20 - 100 range. Tried Advanced settings ‘pre-comp’ randomly from -20 till +20 but that didn’t do anything. Is there any setting (or combination of settings) mayb like the ‘tail drag compensation’ just like on the MSH fbl units !? Thanks .

Do you not have to adjust per flight mode? I have a 330 on a dx6.

Josh Wilson flight mode separate adjustment is optional. I have it set to the same numbers on all flight modes

Let me ask you also. Love the 270 but not a fan of the 636. Thinking about putting a ikon or brain 2. I saw your video flying the 270. What fbl is in that on of yours?
