here is one for the books...I can bind my AR6363a and get "Safe to work with ailerons, and elevator but not Rudder. AX3S works only with ailerons, no elevator or rudder. This is an e-flite f4 which worked a year ago. My trans is the spektrum dx8-2. I have done one firmware update since then. transm shows firmware 2.11. I have tried a different channel on my trans but that didn''t work.
YOU CAN HAVE SAFE USING ANY SPEKTRUM TRANSMITTER NO MATTER HOW OLD. HOWEVER THE AR630 IS FULLY PROGRAMMABLE USING A GEN 2 AND NEWER TRANSMITTER FROM THE SCREEN. WHO KNOWS WHAT THAT RECEIVER IS PROGRAMMED TO OR IF SAFE IS EVEN ENABLED
@@GRIFFINRCPLANES tried with mates dx7s but no safe just normal servo active can't send it back to nexus models as they class it as used won't be going there again

this video was just to inform people if they are trying to bind one for what ever reason and it wont then try again with it flipped over because it could be programmed to be used in normal flying conditions mounted upside down. so what exactly is your issue let me help

This video has helped me a lot. I've been making adjustments to one of my planes and the receiver would not connect to the transmitter, checked the battery and even tried to rebind the receiver and nothing would work. Having found this video it helped me as I was working on the plane on it's side so that I could see what I was doing inside. Having watched the video I went back to the plane , placed it back on it's wheels and turned it on and every thing started to work again. Thanks for a very useful video, keep up the good work Shaun.
Yep. Had a couple Maule M7; it's mounted upside down in that model. I had plane upside down on the stand and was trying to bind it, because that's where the belly access for the receiver was...
my ar 636 was working perfect fine after a servo replacement,after few days when i was about to sell the plane i plugged the receiver to battery and it was not binding just a sec orange flash light and nothing happens. Any help appreciated.
I'm wondering if the Rx actually bound, regardless of it's orientation, but it simply didn't initialize because it of the orientation. If you had left the first bind in place, disconnected the battery, disconnected the bind plug, turned the Rx over, connected the battery the Rx would have initialized.
You are correct. It does bind regardless of orientation and had he just flipped it over even without cycling power or removing the bind plug, it would have initialized. Very helpful video, just a bit of clarification of what is happening. Would have been nice if Spektrum would have programmed the LED to do some unique flash sequence if it was waiting for leveling rather than just making it look "dead".
I WOULD USE THE SPEKTRUM USB PROGRAM CABLE AND ERASE EVERYTHING MAKE IT LIKE BRAND NEW THEN IF IT WONT BIND RIGHT SIDE UP LIKE A NEW ONE THEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT . VERY IMPORTANT BE SEVERAL FEET AWAY MAYBE 10 FEET OTHER ELECTRONICS MAY EFFECT IT . TRY IT IN YOUR YARD AWAY FROM OTHER THINGS IN YOUR HOUSE . LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIGURE IT OUT
Holy bat smoke! I was about to give up on binding the a3x receiver in my new night Visionair. I have been flying for Futaba for 25 years and I am new to Spectrum. Want to try the stabilization and self righting for easier night flight. Your video was the only thing that kept me from giving up on this Spectrum receiver. Nicely done!
Thank you for making this video. I have a ar6210 that would bind but the servos didn’t work. So I rebound the receiver upside down and now everything works. Great job. Thank you. I just bought a DX9 and know very little about these transmitters. I’ve always had Futaba since the late 80’s. It’s just a little learning curve. I’ll get it. 😊
Now if only there was a fix for AR636s that will not enter bind mode. I have one that just blinks orange about once per second and won't enter bind mode at all. Can't bind my timber x to my new radio.
I assume you can change its programming so it can be mounted right side up again. Can that be done using forward programming from a TX? Or does it have to be done via a computer?
Yes I have changed the programming many times for different demonstrations . I don't use that 636 to fly with. The 636 can only be programmed by the spektrum programmer on a computer or a app with smart phone or tablet. Forward programming is for the newer receivers the smart ones 630 631 637 and the 8&10 chanell plus all the smart non as3x safe receivers
YES YOU CAN. BUT REMEMBER . REMEMBER IF YOU BIND IT WITH PUTTING IN THE BIND PLUG THEN POWERING THE PLANE THEN PULLING OUT THE BIND PLUG THEN BIND THE TRANSMITTER SAFE SELCET WILL ALWAYS BE ON. IF YOU WANT TO USE CHANELL 5 ON THE DX5E THE TURN SAFE ON AND OFF MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING CHANELL 5 FOR LANDING GEAR . SO THROTTLE ALERION ELEVATOR RUDDER AND SAFE ON AND OFF IS ALL YOU HAVE UNLESS YOU KEEP SAFE ON OR OFF BY THE 2 DIFFERNT BIND PLUG METHODS. ALSO YOU WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE TO REVERSE CHANELL 5 IN THE TRANSMITTER ;IF THAT STILL DOESNT WORK YOU NEED TO TEACH THE RECEIVER THAT YOU WANT TO USE THE CHANELL 5 SWITCH TO TURN SAFE ON AND OFF . HOLDING BOTH STICKS TO THE BOTTOM AND TOWARDS EACH OTHER AND FLIP THE SWITCH BACK AND FORTH 10 TIMES
THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS TRY AND POWER IT THREW ANY OTHER PORT AND SEE IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE . ALSO TRY TO CONNECT IT TO THE SPEKTRUM PROGRAMMER OR UPDATER AND SEE IF IT CONNECTS TO THAT IF SO UPDATE IT AND TRY IT AGAIN
