My sincere congratulations. At the beginning when you described the complexity of the procedure I wondered how you were going to do it. And you did it; your video was great. It was very easy to follow your systematic step by step instructions enhanced with clear close-ups of the transmitter screen. I watched stopping to make notes on each step - which was easy to do. And I make those comments as someone who who wrote and produced training videos as a career for many years so I understand and respect the effort you put into it. Having read some of the comments prior to watching the video it's clear that some of the questions raised were thoughtfully answered in the video. Superb job. Looking forward to your future work.

Great video, especially the 3-position setup. I did something very similar on a 4-motor setup, but I always DECREASE the motors' speed on the side I'm turning into, i.e. the left or right motors slow down. This is for safety's sake. If I'm in an active throttle mode, and someone accidently bumps my rudder stick or I drop my Tx, and the rudder stick is moved, an increase for either motor could cause the motors to spin. A decrease for differential on BOTH motors will not allow the motors to spin if the rudder stick is moved. The values of the differential for each motor will be as you said, positive for one motor and negative for the other. You can see the result on the monitor screen. Just be sure you know which Rx port is the right and the left motor as you use the rudder stick to see left and right motors decrease on the monitor. With my model I setup 2 differentials on a Flight Mode switch so I could taxi with a higher rate (fixed nosewheel) and a much lower rate when flying. P.S. I think your setup also DECREASES the motors you're turning into, but the increase you mention in the video must be due to moving the throttle, not the rudder?

Thanks so much !! I know it’s just. Foamy, but I’m glad my new NX10 can support differential thrust on my FT Seaduck !! The vtail mixer doesn’t seem to work, and I’m loving AS3X.. and SAFE flying… !!

awesome video, super easy to follow. i'm building these planes with my students in a high school engineering class - working throttle cut is necessary.

Come on guys, someone answer the question PLEASE!!! Are the motors connected to 2 seperate channels or are they both on one channel. This is a great video, but a very important piece left out.

They are on two separate channels and this is explained thoroughly throughout the video.

. No it is not. If you clearly stated that "prior to set up, each motor must be plugged into it's own separate channel on the receiver" then it would be crystal clear and it would all work. Once I did that (after spending 6 hours of beating my head) it all made sense. Never assume what people know, for many of us this is the first time with a twin. Other than that, it was a fantastic video... Thanks!

There need to be 2 channels involved in order to mix them.

How are your motors plugged into your RX? Are you using a Y connector? Will you have to not set up failsafe if you are using a flite controller with return to home

Two different channels otherwise you can't do any of this

Great explanation as to how to accomplish a relatively complicated programming task. I've been partially successful, but I still can't get the throttle cut to take out the right motor tasked to AX3. I'm using a Spektrum NX8 paired with a Spektrum 8360 receiver, which should work, according to your directions. Any ideas & assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, this is not working for me. Are both motors plugged into the same receiver channel (ch 1) or are they plugged into their own separate channels (1 and 5)???

What channels are motors in? I’m using an AR630 rx

I have a mate who wants to control an elevator with twin servos and wanted to trim them separately using one of the additional trims on a DX9 any thoughts about how this could be accomplished. Yes we are able to do it with sub trim but wondered if the additional trims can be used to trim a channel powered by other inputs such as a mix
@RedfiveProjects
@RedfiveProjects 10 месяцев назад
I haven’t done it but I’m sure it can be done and it’s very simple. I guess you need to just assign the additional trim buttons to the elevators. I’ll look into it. Might be worth a video.

Works fine but can get throttle cut to work on only the throttle channel. Both channels work fine on differential and normal thrust. Have rechecked everything. Could it be another radio (DX8) setting? Cut works fine on both channels in all but throttle cut in differential thrust.

I am having the same issue, using aux2 and it does not return to -100 for the cut

@@rkaplan100 Have you figured it out? I'm setting mine up tomorrow morning and if I have the same issue, I need to know how to fix it. It's been 13 days since you posted this question, and still no response from the author. 😥

@@Denny_H No it does not work for me. Diff does work as well as normal settings but not the cut. Maybe a limitation with the DX8G2 vs a NX10. Let me know how you make out

@@rkaplan100 Throttle cut works, however; I have no throttle differential with rudder movement. I followed his instructions perfectly, and checked over everything 4 times. I'm also using an NX10 with an AR637T receiver. 😕

You can't have throttle cut and have differential thrust active at the same time - this is why it is all on one switch. watch the chapter called 'set up'
