Was at Grand Canary this winter, and met a couple in a restaurant, they was from Holland, I said, you had one of the most playing artist during the 80s, what do you say?? Henk Braaf..., no never heard about him. They was at my age +/- 55 Spence: Get it on.... nooo never heard about him, then I played it from RU-vid: oh yeah, that I remember, she said. Is he from Holland??? Jepp, his name is Henk Braaf. From the same country and at my age +/- 55 never heard about him.....

Thank you for sharing this with us. Yes unfortunately he was not known back in the 80's. Get It On was a top 40 radio hit in The Netherlands, it became a bigger hit in the clubs around Europe in late 1983 and in 1984. But it didn't get much further. After Get It On, his other singles didn't hit the charts and where neglected by the public. He didn't get the credit he deserved. Quite a shame because Henk Braaf is still a talented and gifted guitar player that also knows how to sing and make music.

I happen to find this song and other types like this 1, like Funk.. accidentally and being raised in the 80s I've thought I heard it all thanks to the owners and who ever they gave permission to post this I thank you very much for this music as I'm typing I'm in front on my porch drinking a cold 1 what an awesome feeling I'm getting ....

Every time I hear this track I think how the heck did I not hear this in the 80's? I used to buy tons of records every week and listen to tons of music but somehow missed this one. It has the feel of a pop record like Get Down On It but to my ears is much sweeter and infectious and not as overplayed.

Well if you lived in Europe or UK back when the track was released, you would not have missed it in the clubs. I doubt the single version was played much, except when it hit the Dutch Top 40 in November 1983. It was a huge floorfiller in 1984 in Europe. There is even a Canadian pressing. Shame it didn't hit the US dance charts. Still a groovy track though.

Martin280967 Henk Braaf also known as Spence, still lives in Amsterdam with wife and kids. He's a great person and a gifted guitar player. I wish I was a teenager back in the early 80's. Get It On was played in almost all the disco clubs from The Netherlands and Europe back in 1983 and 1984.
