The horn at 0:40 is the prettiest; that one sounds just like the trains I used to hear off in the distance when I was little, in Columbia, SC. Makes me want to cry because I miss those days.
Sounds a lot like the railways in Victiria, Australia, where we still run relatives of these locos. But some of ours have double cab ends for greater visual effect.
The most beautiful horn is Union Pacific 951 and 949’s horns. These horns are similar to the very horns used on my favorite UP diesels: the U50C. I have a close relationship with the Leslie RS-5T-RRO horns. They were used on the U50C’s and when I was little, I was able to cab ride in a retired U50C before she was scrapped, I was able to use the horn and bell on that cab ride, and every time I hear a RS-5T-RRO; I just cry, as it reminds me of my father who passed away a few years ago. He worked with the U50C’s and that’s why I love them.
That was New Haven #2019, the NH used Hancock air whistles on their FL9’s when they first bought them, most of them have been replaced with normal horns by now
WOW! One was like nails on a chalkboard and there was one that doesn't deserve to have status of being called a horn! :) The rest are AWESOME! They scream, "GET OUT OF MY WAY".

"Now" for 200 dollars, which horn was on the S anta Fe unit????? Only kidding! Seeing all the fallen flags, brings back forgotten memories! Its like seeing your high school crush again! "Hay" who hid the Milwaukee Road f unit??
