You make a lot of good points but I don't think "no one sees it but the wedding party" is one of them. Mostly because it's like you're saying that everyone else's opinion matters but the person who wanted the thing. I'm sorry, I just don't agree with that view. For example, say I buy a dress (not a wedding dress, just a regular casual dress). But after trying it on again at home, I decide I don't like it. But my mom says I should keep it because everyone else will like it. Why is it that my opinion doesn't matter when I'm the one who's stuck wearing it? Why is it that everyone else's opinion matters except my own when it effects me the most? No, that's ridiculous. In the same way, it doesn't matter if "no one sees it but the wedding party." It's the bride and groom's day. So if that's what they want to see, that's what matters.

The venue needed something like tall centerpieces and some kind of treatments to the walls and ceiling. There were no chandeliers, nothing, but a blank.

I've not seen the entire video yet, but hockey & wedding. Either it's a celebration for one or the other- but never a combination. It's like eating cereal with koolaid (instead of milk).

Imagine I spent $500 to get married 25 years ago. We still never had the money for down payment on house. Spending less doesn’t mean you have down payment for house. Their money and their decision.

I get we all have favorite food items. Mine is spinach and kale, but I wouldn't insist that everyone slug down green smoothies. I loathe pumpkin spice. Next wedding just serve compost, iced, shaken. Not stirred.

Pumpkin patch events are usually part of a farm fall festival to me What they did with the pumpkins turned out awesome. Im glad the cup thing did not work out I could see turning them into votive holders

lol that's why they should have gotten fake glitter pumpkins from the dollar store instead. they also have a bunch of realistic mini pumpkins and gourds on amazon for super cheap that come with fall leaves...

I really don't get the whole pumpkin obsession. Fall is so much more than pumpkins, or did I get something wrong. It looked a little bit like Halloween

Only donating 500 bucks to 4 charities isn’t anything really. But that’s less then they would spend on wedding favors. I think if ur donating to charity it should be the amount u would spend on favors. But hey that’s just me….

All the gifts and cash they will be getting from the guest's and they can't buy some low cost favors for these people making their day.

I feel like the only way it would work is if you adopted an animal in each guests name (like you can do from WWF and a plethora of other organizations) and place the certificate, photo of their adopted animal, etc. at each guest’s place setting.

I think it's kinda ridiculous that people expect there to be guest favors anyway. How can anyone have a budget friendly wedding if they have to spend that much extra money on guests. They're already paying for the guests to eat. They shouldn't expect favors anyway

I was gonna say: Between this and the Gail Vax-Oxlade shows, Canada is doing its part to turn out spoiled brats, too.

I’m not a typical Spoiled American. I’m 67. We were poor. So much so that I’m not the kind of person, who grew up getting everything I wanted. We received the essential items. What we were in need of. My dad didn’t have the money for a wedding so we had to pay for the wedding. It was held at the church hall. My in laws baked or cooked what we needed. Had music. From a radio. Lasted maybe 2-3 hrs. Everyone loved it cause it was more talking to one another. Long before cell phones. The art of conversation. Sad, but it’s almost a dinosaur.

I've seen Bridezilla's from many countries. I'm an American. My wedding was very budget friendly. Our wedding & reception pics showing our decor is on our venue's online page & brochure. We paid for everything & I did a lot of DIY.
