Hey QCKND, loved this video! Living in Texas has it's good and bad but at least our libraries are s t o c k e d. I can get almost any manga! But I wanted to tell you, check to see if your public library has an Inter-Library Loan. When my library doesn't have something in stock I order it through the ILL system and they basically ship you a book from any other library in the country (I think). It takes a little while longer depending on how far it is but it saves me $$$ every year. Hope this helps!
I process interlibrary loans at my library, and the problem we face with patrons ordering more than 3-5 materials at a time is that if they're all coming from different libraries, we can't control whether they come at the same time. And at least at our library, you will be contacted every time one of your requests comes in. So we get a lot of complaints that they don't arrive to us in order. 🙃
pittsburgh bus rider here, idk what "triangulation" is but my bus card glitches out if I keep it with my other cards and when we buy a pass they recommend to keep it away from other cards and our phones because of magnets 🤷

The thing about the debit card messing with your bus pass might be true. When I was in France we were told not to keep our train tickets next to our debit/credit cards because the cards can stuff up the ticket. I forgot and put my ticket next to my debit card and the ticket didn’t work. Good to see your face ❤️

As for the card situation, when I worked at a hotel, we had to remind guests not to keep their key cards near their phones or close to their debt/credit cards. Don't know why, but they just don't like each other. Maybe when she scanned it, she fixed the problem? Like a recarding situation.
quick note from your friendly neighborhood library student - don't be afraid to ask the library to buy stuff that you want to read! Especially if a couple of people ask for something (like more adult manga), the library will take it seriously. They want to have the stuff you want! Use the "ask a librarian" feature on the web site, or ask the librarian when you go in. But they won't know you're looking for it unless you ask :)

the bus drivers have been telling riders in my city (san diego) to not keep our passes and debit cards together since like 2018 so maybe there is some truth there
We have always told our hotel guests to keep their room key cards separate from debit cards cause they'll get wiped soooo I think there might be something to it tbh
I have some insider PA library info! With your Philly card you can go to any library in PA and get borrow from them, you would just need to have a PA access card. I worked in the Bucks system and we had people from Philly in all the time.
My first tattoo was at the Villian arts festival and it’s by an artist from philly. It’s a great way to get tattooed from people all over the country and I think you’d really dig it. You should go if you get the chance!! If they let you record it would make for great content too!

Shipping can take awhile since they strive to ship as many as your items together in one go, but they always come well packed and secure. Amazon on the other hand has done me dirty so many times when it comes to ordering manga. I have gotten books torn, gouged, and scratched up from them!

cards work with magnetism so its possible that different cards mess with each other's magnetism. i was warned to not keep my uni card with my phone because phones can also mess with the magnetism of the card.

Weird, does your library not allow inter library loans? Mine was touting they could get books from anywhere in the country. Are some libraries just refusing to do that, lol. Also mine allowed browsing even before the mask mandate ended. Guess I should count myself lucky
