I feel so bad for their parents. Escaped Pol Pot, went to all the effort to move to another country trying to give their children a better life, and then their kids grow up and end up killing and dying over a street or neighborhood. Tragic
“We went from the Killing Fields of Cambodia to the concrete jungle Killing Fields of California” was what my Cambodian neighbor used to say. I remember their grandparents were truly fucked up in the head from the Cambodian genocide, they had severe PTSD. Many Cambodians were just thrown into the ghettos of the US and had no other choice but to adapt and especially defend themselves, just like how most gangs were formed.
I grew up with Cambodians. My homies brother carried his younger bro and sis with his mom through the jungles to escape Pol pot and the kmher Rouge. Ya, I learned alot about their history. I remember downloading Vietnamese raps and was wondering why the homies kept deleting it and guess at that time they didn't like anything vietmese cuz of the war. It was insane learning bout the history. Cambodians are seriously family. I remember getting drunk everyday at my homies house and his Cambodian mom came in kicking him yelling at me cuz we thrown up on the side of the crib and the garden. I've never seen her so mad. I was laughing cuz she was swearing in Cambodian yelling at us all. Good times. But ya they had a rough history and the journey of escaping
@@G23-k5r ya but now gangs arnt that respectable today. Back then they had morals and code. No innocent people, women, and children. Nowadays certain gangs would take out the whole family even the kids without no remorse. Not saying these pple would do it but most gangs don't live by their own rules anymore.
@@brenetssssCali Runs off different rules. Let's say all of them got locked up. They have to stay with their race. Blacks with blacks, whites with whites, Hispanics with Hispanics, and the last group would be others. Others would be reserved for someone that doesn't gang bang and is likely from another country such as a solo Cuban or Venezuelan.
My father, Bulgarian born was 18 when he was sent across the world to Cambodia to serve and protect Cambodian villages during the war. He spent 3 years there and fell in love with the culture, the people and Buddhism, he talks about going to live there when he retires as he received a letter that he is eligible for Cambodian citizenship due to his service. He talks about Cambodia all the time, how it changed his life and his view on life, love, war, etc… Now I’m not in any position to speak on how someone lives their life but I find it very weird that these brothers are repeating what happened back home in USA. As an immigrant myself I know how important it is to make our parents proud and to support them considering how much they done for us. I learnt that shit the hard way when I was busy doing fuckshit on road and instantly regretted that shit when I got stung. Bruddas talking about the civil war back home but they bragging about car chases and bullet holes. There’s nothing educational about this video, just glamourising a lifestyle. I’ve been living in poverty ridden places my whole life and at 23 years old I can tell you, that at a certain point in your adolescence, this lifestyle is a CHOICE. Sending blessings and love from London and Bulgaria, got allot of family members that lost their life in Cambodia. Break the generational curse brothers.
Hope you and your pops are doing ok :) Bulgaria will be a good place to retire, he'll love it there. You're right about the glorifying of this lifestyle tho, it's so damaging.. Hate that that's what they look up too because it's what seam in reach, not a good education or a life without crime. This sad gang mentality is what looks appealing :/// Soooo.. I don't fully agree though that this lifestyle is a choice like you said. Makes it seam like it's easy to quit and that it's always a choice. For some it's almost impossible. For some, impossible. What if you're in a gang and they hunt and kill you or your loved ones when you try to leave? Then the choice is life of crime, or death. What if you're an addict and no education, just slinging dope your whole life? And parents are sick, no money for them if you get a job at McDonald. Minimum wage is not enough to support a family. What if you have experienced trauma and depression so you have no fight left in you? When your brain is wired a certain way it's really really hard to change without role models / therapy or psychological help. Just because it felt like a choice for you, it doesn't mean everyone experience is the same. Granted I don't know what you've been through, it's never a good idea to be to certain about things and use yourself as the ultimate example, you feel me? It's can be interpreted as disrespectful to the unfortunate ones that has it really rough.
He said they ain’t got no food spots out there them boys need open up a Cambodian food spot over there fr that chicken look good and employ they family
These boys are too worried about fake ass gang banging and looking up to nobodies I’m glad my son finish school and is on his way to college and don’t do none of the shit that I ever did
@@kiyahsuarez1255 real talk, this lifestyle shouldn't be endorsed. I grew up with people from that area, good kids in the wrong area. They adapted to their surroundings; but with all their talent music followers, they can employ their neighborhood. Gangs are supposed to clear out, and marshal the neighborhood-they are their to protect. But over here, especially on the west... It's just something to do. On the east, rhey making cash...either way it's meh.
I’m Cambodian, so my parents came here as refugees. The sad truth about gang life for Cambodians is that they get caught up with guns and drugs, the lack of support makes them end up in jail or worse. Then they come out and struggle to make ends meet. I empathize but also I wish our small community could one day have the access or resources to live healthier lives…
@@gpl992Not all of us are, and I believe the population of Khmers are moving up with higher education and hopefully getting out of poverty. I know folks that have gotten involved with gangs and been deported. You're right, it's been a generation or so because I'm 24 and my mother is a refugee, she's not even 60 years old yet. So just to put that into perspective. If you carried trauma or grew up in a hood (like it really depends on your zipcode and city), folks would still be struggling like this, just like anyone who's not born from generational wealth.

Good job man. I think many of us south easy Asians got involved in this lifestyle in one way or another. It's good to see that many grew up out of it and did better for themselves. I
I saw a special on TV where there was a Cambodian guy in a gang that lived in the USA since he was a year or two old. He never got his American citizenship, so when he got arrested for a felony, he was deported to Cambodia. He was struggling in Cambodia, it was really sad.
There’s a video about Tongan and Samoans Who got deported for felonies even tho they lived here in Cali their entire life it’s fucked. I get they commited a crime but to get deported to a country they know nothing about it and even don’t know the language is messed up
I’m so glad I got citizenship when I was really young. My family moved here in the states when I was 3 years old. I hope I never get deported. I can’t read or write in my home language and I speak a different dialect than the main one which everything is transcribed in.
Yeah there were a lot of deportations of fellow Cambodians because they got into trouble with the law, without citizenship. I knew a few people who got deported. Some are living well over there while others are just trying to make it.
"And shit" "Shit like that" "I promise you that" "Nam sayin" its truly amazing how they went from Cambodian to Niqqa real quick lol it's like an evolution..

The saddest part about being in a gang is always having to look over your shoulder and knowing that your life is probably limited to life in prison or death. I suppose feeling powerful by being part of a family unit gives the illusion of being protected.
@@visaliabsaeteurn559 I think it’s a bit of both. In many cases, gang members from different gangs target one another or there’s a lot of revenge attacks but I also know innocent people get caught up too. From most documentaries I’ve watched, members of gangs say they don’t know if they’re gonna live beyond a certain age. All it takes is for them to be in an area where they’re spotted by another gang and they’re in danger. It happens with UK gangs a lot and I’ve heard about it happening in America, Brazil, and Mexico too.
No the saddest thing is all the innocent people around you that don't choose this and still have to look over their shoulder for your gang and the other gangs. Nothing sad about these pieces of shit except that they're still breathing.
Yea i saw your videos too. That was great! Its a good format. I feel like you you need to make them more international though meaning always having subtitles, so that everybody can understand, what you are saying. For example the ending of your newest one, would have been nice to understand, what you were saying there.
I used to live and teach English in Cambodia and loved it. The Cambodians were by far the nicest most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It saddens me to see Cambodians here in America get caught up in gang culture. I wish they knew how amazing their culture is and what he Khmer people have accomplished.
exactly what im saying! The Cambodians in Cambodia is the friendliest people! Nothing like American Cambodians but its the American culture and system that failed the people. No 1 wants to be born in a gang infested neighborhood.
Hey Andrew 👋 That's awesome you did that, can I ask what year(s)? I visited Battambang in 2006 and I recall the friendly locals and amazing street food. Speaking of which food seems costly in Cambo these days! So much has changed ever since especially in PP. Sometimes I want to drop everything here in California (I'm just scraping to get by anyway 😅), and move to Cambodia long term. I'm only 38 but bored and tired of life in Cali. Teaching English is still the best option for foreigners from what I gathered. Neighboring Thailand & Vietnam have more to offer materially speaking by they make you jump through hoops to stay there long term! My only issue is I heard affordable and accessible medical services are still few and far between so I've been told it's recommended to fly to Bangkok for that. I'd love to hear your insight and advice in general about this venture. Hope you're well ✌️
It's called systemic racism, placing these children in horrible neighborhoods, darker skin Asians experiencing bigotry as a much higher number than lighter skin Asians
I live less than a mile away. Dudes are right. The only time I went over there was when I was a delivery driver. I grew up with refugee children from Vietnam and Cambodia. Most of my friends in elementary and high school were southeast Asian, Filipino, etc.
I haven’t watched your videos in over 4 years and today this pops up on my feed. You got a better camera, thats awesome and glad to see you’re still out there doing your thing!

Everyone got their own opinions, it’s never safe in this world so if people decide to be gang members then let them do so… it’s a type of family that’s formed of all kinds, all nationalities but the main thing is they protect each other❤ my family are all gang members and they all got each others back and take care of each other. I’ve always felt safe around my bro and his homies❤
Yea, just people playing pretend and fighting among themselves. Literally fighting for turf or rivals with no objective. Back 30-40 years ago, gangs had some power within the community and it was a rough period so people stick together and create gangs. Nowadays, it's just people who play pretend with no power within the community and seen as just people who just hang around doing nothing. Like minimum wage is so high now that you can make a decent living and just live a chill life rather than play pretend Gangs were a way to make money and protect yourself before, now it's just a shell of people who doesn't seem like they do anything
@@SmileB4uDie @DG_Insomnia You can live off minimum wage in Cali? Ik in FL (as of 2022), thats impossible. You can't even stay in the ghetto with that, it would either be a trailer park or a ghetto with deplorable conditions and life would be anything but chill.
Urban American culture is rotted and corrupting. If these kids grew up in Cambodia they would probably act normal and live normal. Instead look at them, desperately trying to look tough and impress each other with their street affects.
“It’s crazy around here” nahhh…what their parents and grandparents went through was crazy, but they moved trying to make a better life for the younger generation….so sad
you really think about it, they ain't take care of no refugees here in the states. just about making money selling weapons overseas, and that money don't even come back to the people. it's all in the pockets of private companies at the end of the day. I'm talkin smith and wesson type shit. they just drop the refugees in the poorest places and forget about em
They are playing pretend. They have no influence over the neighborhood or businesses. It can hardly be considered a gang. Most of these "gangs" are just people who get together and hangout. Then they play pretend with the other hangout groups in their own world while committing possible petty crime here and there.
Stand up guys? The 90s was about race and turf wars, if a black stepped foot in a latin neighborhood they'd get shanked up. Asians weren't even on the scene back then, they were a few but not enough to be a threat to anyone that weren't black or brown. In prison it's white, brown and black then there's "other" who mostly either join with hispanics or the whites if they have some value, like an Asian being an associate with a white gang leader but not in the Aryan brotherhood for obvious reason (not being white). Hispanic gangs were the most welcoming to Asians and Native Americans.
As with most Asian diets, there's madd sodium in their dishes. Want high blood pressure and diabetes 10 years early? Switch to an authentic Asian diet.. 🤨🤣
Lived in Stockton for a bit, I have no gang affiliations and would take my kids to hang out at the delta in Louis Park and at pixie woods. Never had issues, some real people out there. Much love.
Lol yeah dude, if before this video someone said the phrase "gang enhancement" I would've thought it was a joke, but turns out it's a real charge. Sounds like some video game attribute to level up your gang.
You should know that all these guys tot jumped 5 minutes after this video got shot by strap on d1ld0 wielding Allpowerfull Lesbian Family street gang member Boxing Betty.......now they are all good behaving boyscouts.......real talk!!
I remember seeing this stuff in movies thinking they were organizations run by experienced adult criminals. When you look into gangs they are 99% teenagers who are just bored. The fact that people die over this stuff is so stupid. They are literally kids and the same goes for every "gang" video I watch.
@Mr X Makes sense considering the fact that these guys in the video are American. There grandparents may be Cambodian but these kids don’t even have a passport, shit I wouldn’t be surprised if they never left NorCal.
I live in Thailand and have visited Cambodia; such a fascinating and sad history. It’s interesting these kids adopted black American ‘hood’ culture so quickly. The way they talk is incredible. Rap culture is powerful in its influence.
They didn’t adopt them, they grew up with it. Their parents are the ones who adopted it. Most of their parents are considered a disappointment by the grandparents who are most likely dead or in a different city. Their parents adopted the black hood culture because their family were placed in the area and that was the only type of people they hang out with. These younger generations are a result of the older generations who adopted the American gangster life. These young folks aren’t fake or wannabes, they were born into that life. Don’t blame them
Seen many of these youths grand parents stepping off the planes in Yokota Air force base in Japan during the brutal Khmer Rouge conflict. I was a young kid but remember being up all night with my parents taking food, water, clothes, and blankets to the Cambodian families coming off the planes. A lot of those famies then came back state side through Travis AFB if I recall correctly. Just a little living history if anyone was intrested. Their life under communism was brutal, search Khmer Rouge. As bad as people think we have it in America at times we should all stop and think about the harsh reality of some of the alternatives.
Vietnam liberated Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge which was supported by American after they began being opposed to the Vietnamese government american even sent 85 million dollars to pol pots forces also the Khmer Rouge was only communist in name and better defined as a peasant revolutionary movement led by a mad man

Truly is. I am Cambodian and grew up in a bad side of town. Given I am in my mid 30s, I still remember vividly how my younger days were. Fortunately, I was never involved in gangs but had friends who inevitably became on each side of the “color” they kill each other over. It’s truly sad to see these kids so lost but I do not blame them 100%. People have to take into account that their parents are refugees with no education and can barely speak English. While they are out providing for their family, their kids are running the streets and searching for a different type of family. It is sad, but hopefully, these kids will come across some guidance.
