Here are some tips that’ll help a lot: 1. Use quick train for your army’s because it’s a lot quicker. 2. Max out EVERYTHING including research before you upgrade you town hall (it’ll help a lot!) 3. Fight other people and not just goblins, you can get a lot of resources from it. 4. Upgrading your walls can help a lot if other people fight you. 5. Air defenses are very important! They’re the best defense against air units. 6. If you move an object in you base, it’ll show areas that are shaded white. Anywhere that isn’t shaded white means that people can place units there. 7. Use the builder base (the island across the ocean) you’ll get the hang of it eventually. 8. Protect tour town hall, if people destroy it then it’ll give them a star, and you’ll go down in the rankings. 9. Don’t leave any entrances to your base. Even if you put traps at an entrance, it still won’t do much. 10. You don’t have to place your units at an entrance of someone’s base. You can break through the walls and the will most likely be less traps. 11. Clear obstacles such as trees and rocks. They can give you diamonds. 12. If you get 5 stars in multiplayer battles, you will get a star bonus. Getting a star bonus will put gold and elixir inside the treasury in your clan castle. 13. Upgrading army camps are very important. The better the army camps, the better the army! 14. When you unlock the lightning spell, use it before anything else to destroy their best defenses. 15. Mortars are very good for people your level. They have a lot of range and do a lot of damage. So destroy the mortars quickly, and upgrade you own! 16. Make sure your whole base is within the range of your defenses. 17. Protect your storages because if someone destroys them, they’ll steal your loot! 18. If someone attacks your base, you can click on the loot cart and collect some resources back. 19. Request troops with your clan castle. People will send you troops and you can use them in battle or they’ll fight attackers troops. 20. Use traps to protect your town hall, defenses, or any entrances you can’t block up. This seems like a lot to remember but it can help a lot! Your doing good in Clash of Clans!
Well, I mostly agree, but not with all. Also go a little more in depth sometimes. 1. Very good tip. 2. Only researching your main army has the same effect as researching every single troop. And rushing a bit actually get's you maxed faster then if not. It's all about keeping all builders and the laboratory active all the time. 3. To me it seems like goblin maps are very good with loot for lower TH's, but TH6-7+, maybe even 5 already multiplayer is way better indeed. 4. Walls are very helpfull, but from TH7 most people will just spam air attacks, and above TH11 walls are just to expensive to always fully max relative for the increase in HP where he is now though, yeah, walls could help a bit (although 3 starring is very easy on lower TH's). 5. Sure they are! Well, later you get even better ones, but that makes sense, since air defense is TH4. 6. Good for finding holes in your base where enemies can deploy troops. 7. Builder base can get very fun. From third troop, and BH6 even more, it really shines IMO. 8. Yep 9. A wall is almost always better than a trap. (Later on there are advanced layout tactics to stop advanced attack tactics though, that do utilise gaps in walls) 10. This, or just place 1 barbarian or goblin to test for traps. (Spring traps insta kill a giant, so using giants to test is a bit risky.) 11. Good tip, but be wary that rocks do NOT respawn. If you want to collect all obstacles possible, the first step is not to remove all rocks. (Trees and bushed do respawn) 12. Don't forget to empty your treasury. It happens often to me loot get's lost because it doesn't have space anymore. (Not only star bonusses, but also CW (Clan Wars), CWL (Clan War Leagues) and Clan Games give loot that go into the treasury. 13. Just prioritize offense over defense as a whole. (If you are active you will do more attacks than you do defenses, since dead bases (bases from which the owner hasn't been online in a while (If you are inactive for a really long time you won't get attacked anymore though) can be attacked aswell, although they don't attack back) 14. You can deploy your troops first and then immeadiatly use teh lightning spels to save time, or reset things that charge, since it does a very very short stun(yes, does let defenses retarget). (Only defense that charges damage unlocks at TH10. And then there is a troop version of said defense that could possibly be in a defending Clan Castle, although very rare. Does do the same damage vs troops as vs buildings, so also very effective against a lot of defending troops in the Clan Castle (that's what CC means)) 15. Mortars are great for swarm, but that's it. Agree with teh tip, but don't prioritize it in upgrading. It gives only 1 dps extra at first. (later it does get stronger to counter that troops get bigger and tankier, but that is from TH11-12) OH WAIT, if a mortar just fired at a giant of yours, don't place wall breakers behind it. They will get insta killed and not open the wall. 16. Sometimes it is unavoideble, but yeah. Don't wanna give opponents a free star. Specifically free loot. 17. Two main tactics. This one (protecting loot, helping to level up faster), or using storages at shields, since the high HP they have (for trophy pushing, for example if you are maxed or are online enough to still have enough loot for upgrades). 18. Afyer being inactive long, this can be MILLIONS. (And you need 0 dollars (or any other currency) for that) 19. Just image getting air troops at your trophy level. No stopping that! 20. Do try to place them as effective as possible. Spring traps between defenses to spring giants, clusters of red air bombs next to wizard towers and air defenses against balloons. I hear that small bombs are good around the outside to kill wallbreakers. Not sure if it really works, but probably works if so many players (including pro's) say it does. I should've just made my own comment, right?
@@fireshadowdark5462I feel like upgrading everything before going to the next town hall is important(maybe not the troops you don’t use) and the walls are very important too, not everyone does air attacks and ground attacks are much harder to execute with strong walls
I would recommend reading the troop descriptions. Giants will tank so you should place them first followed by barbarians/archers. Bringing a few wallbreakers will help everything get inside a base if it is closed off. You’ll also get more resources in multiplayer so don’t be scared
hey Matt, quick tip about the star system, u get 1 star for destroying 50% of the base, another star for the town hall, and the last star for destroying the whole village, so if you've destroyed everything but the town hall you only have 1 star until you destroy it and thus get the last 2 stars
Read the "Favorite Target" of troops in their description. It will tell what building they will target first. For example, the Giant's favorite target is defences so they will prioritize the nearest accessible defence building ignoring other buildings like storages and collectors, while the Goblins prioritize storages, collectors, and Town Halls. It also explains why barbarians and archers attack any building because their favorite target is "Any".
Matt you shouldnt rush your townhall meaning you should upgrade everything in that townhall then upgrade. This makes progression easier as well as smoother. Like so matt can see
Tip: Do the multiplayer and attack others. This way you can use the star boost bonus effectively. Which the star boost bonus gives extra gold and elixir after gaining five stars from multiplayer. Which then goes into a cool down and you can do it again.
Tips: Please read the troops description soo that you will know what troops to use. Some troops attacks the defenses first example: GIANTS Some troops attacks the loots first example: GOBLINS Some troops attacks anything thats the closest to it example: BARBARIANS, ARCHERS
So before you upgrade your town hall level, make sure you have everything else upgraded before you do. When you get later in the game it’s really hard to catch up on upgrades if you don’t finish everything before the town hall. Another thing that you should do whenever you attack is request troops from your clan. You can do this by going into clan chat and clicking the button on the bottom right. Your clan mates can give you troops from higher town hall levels so that you can make sure to 3 star your opponents, or for your sake, the goblin camps. My last tip, try to put your town hall and your defenses like cannons in the middle of your base like you were doing. You can then surround your attacking defenses with stuff like gold mines and storages so that people will have a harder time beating your base. You also have walls that you can place down to make it harder for people to beat you. When you have a ton of resources in your storages it will make people want to attack you more, so try to empty them before you get off. Also if you want to get rid of a bunch of gold upgrade your walls, it will cost a lot
A tip for early game is that you should upgrade your town hall in between upgrades that way each episode you can upgrade your town hall and experience new content. Here is what you should upgrade in order •collectors and resources •barracks and camps for attacking bases •defense upgrades •walls •traps ext lastly, don’t rush town halls, upgrade as much as you can to the max before doing anything involving starting a new town hall.
Tip: if you want to get to higher town halls quickly without having to upgrade your buildings to high levels and unlock new buildings or as what the community calls it “rushing your base” you should focus on the offenses (barracks, laboratory upgrades ,spell factories when you unlock them, and army camps) Also I recommend rushing your base to town hall 9 as town hall 9 is when the upgrades get much more expensive and many more levels than the town halls below it Some people might tell you not to do this, but you can do this IF YOU WANT ,before rushing had a much bigger impact but nowadays progression is much easier and rushing isn’t as bad as before. as long as you don’t upgrade to TH9 (town hall 9) while rushing, getting your base properly upgraded isn’t the hardest
Pro tip: the button in the bottom right with the hand and two arrows is the base editor, and you can edit the layout of you base with it. As for what your layout should be, just copy it off the internet.
small tip, how stars work in battles is that you get 1 star from 50% of the base destroyed, another if you destroy the town hall, and the final one for destroying the entire base. later on it will be important to remember this :)
Yo Matt! I posted this on your first vid but idk if you saw it, so here it is again! Just a few tips to maybe help you starting in the game… - As you saw with some upgrading, buildings will have UPGRADE CAPS (you can’t upgrade the tower further until you upgrade your Town Hall). In my experience, maxing out all of your buildings BEFORE upgrading your Town Hall to the next level is the best way to NOT GET DESTROYED by people who are a higher level then you. - You can think of some simple strategies in CoC the same way you can think of them in Battle Cats! Giants are the tanks, archers/wizards are the back liners. If you just put the giants first and then the back liners, that’ll bring you very very far in this game - PVP is NOT LIVE. People will attack you passively and when you attack somebody, all they’ll get is a notification. When somebody attacks you, you gain a shield, so people can’t attack you, but attacking other people while the shield is ACTIVE will decrease the shield time. - On the note of PVP, its the best way to gather resources, and your Town Hall level does NOT determine the people you face in multiplayer. You’ll be matched up against people with the same amount of trophies as you, so if you end up scouting a bunch of bases higher level then you, that means you’re doing really good!! (Because you have as much trophies as normal people would have at a higher level!) - And the last thing, to help our clan grow! I just saw you promoted somebody in the clan to Co-leader, and in my experience, having a small amount of those (like 3 to 5) is useful, in case 1 isn’t active, so we can still do Clan Wars and upgrade our clan. Tip: Try to progress the beginner pass. You can access what challenges you can complete by clicking the shield with the plus on it in the bottom left corner. Completing these task can gain you rewards.
When upgrading to higher town hall levels, upgrade attack buildings (such as barracks, army camps (with regular and dark spell factory, dark barracks, siege workshop when you get them)) and important buildings, such as your clan castle and important defences. After, upgrade loot buildings and then defences (when you get heroes, upgrade them whenever you have spare loot)
Tips: 1.Upgrade your army camps so you can use more troops. 2.Upgrade everything in builder list (including walls) before you upgrade your town hall. 3.Start attacking other people's bases. 4.If you leave too much space between your buildings enemies can deploy their troops in those spaces.
Tip: Attack people! There’s really no punishment for attacking another player, it’s basically like the goblin maps. However, attacking shaves down the time on your shield, the thing next to the builders on the top of the screen. The shield protects your village from enemies who are looking to steal your loot while you’re offline. Also, it’s fun to create different armies, and you can also look up base layouts here on RU-vid to make your village stronger on defense.
The builder base is a smaller base with more strategic battles. It’s fun just to check out, upgrade, and battle a few times when you are done with your main base. Also multiplayer battles are not as bad as you think. You will be battling bases like yours and you can just skip until you find a base that is worth attacking for you. Also you get a big loot bonus in builder base and in the main base when you get enough stars in multiplayer battles. The loot bonus resets every day
Tip: put your collectors/ non-defences on the exterior of your base. Keep storage inside tho. Tip: put your town hall in the Center. Tip: spamming balloons early is a really easy way to win, once the air defence is destroyed. Tip: don’t just put all of your base in a square of walls. Make separate sections for defences and storages to mess with enemy troop pathing and waste time for defences to well, defend. Tip: save magic items like books and hammers until past like town hall 10. Never use hammers or books for anything less than 5 days long upgrade. Tip: upgrade your offence first, because attacking is way better than attacking. Upgrade your army camps and barracks asap. Tip: do the clan capital raids as soon as they’re available in the clan. They give you raid medals to buy magic items or to fill your clan castle without a clanmate’s help. Tip: early on, fill your clan castle with troops you don’t have access to in the barracks, because they’ll be way better than what you have currently for offence, and really good at defending on defence. Filling it balloons is never a bad idea either. Tip: use a variety of troops in raids, because usually a singular troop type can easily be countered by one or two defence types. Tip: destroy the environment. Get rid of trees and bushes. Use a shovel of obstacles on seasonal decorations because of novelty factor.
Here are some tips for you: 1. I suggest you rush to atleast th 10, but i suggest you upgrade the elixer and gold collecters laboratorium, the barracks and spell brewing and army camps this will save you laods of money and waiting and when ur at youre desired townhall then you upgrade youre defend buildings (some of these come at later townhalls) 2. In the first tip i said you should rush atleast th 10 bc at that level you will be able to get more loot then at townhall 3 3. The ‘cc’ means the clancastle, and when someone says that they have an cc means that they have defending troops in the clancastle Have a great day and keep uploading💪
Here's a good tip when you get to a new townhall, upgrade the offensive stuffs first, as well as the storages, upgrade the camps, barracks, research lab and clan castle, before upgrading the defenses and then the gold mine and elixir collectors last. Looking forward to the next and more episodes!
2:45 tip: when you said about putting builders in the corner that is a good idea because when fighting you get i think 2:30 minutes to attack a base so if you put builders in the corner if you get lucky and they dont notice it they would be pretty much be wasting the timer on trying attacking it. Tip 2: when you having a hard time of bombs or called TRAPS its best you send one unit to check for any nearby traps. Traps only activate when units are nearby i know its not a lot of tips like other people but hope it help's
Matt, if you look up on RU-vid, “Best Base For Every Town Hall Level” you can get the best recommended base to your Town Hall level. Also you should leave at least one builder not working you can upgrade your walls whenever all of your builders are working.
Class of clans tips You can identify how much u have left to upgrade for ur current town hall level by clicking the blue I button next to face of the builder at the top of the screen to the left of the shield. When In a clan, getting high level cc troops is important for low level defensive and offensive reasons. cc troops stand for clan castle troops and what they are is they are troops given to u by clan mates. This is made available for them to do by clicking the clan castle, and sending a request for them into the clan chat found on the left of the screen. One u receive these troops they can defend ur base when the time comes for it to be attacked in multiplayer (explained below) or can be used on offensive attacks. In defence, these troops remain inactive until an enemy unit enters a range around the clan castle (seen by selecting it) when they become active they will target their appropriate targets but if there comes a time in the defence where there is no enemy units on the map, the cc troops will be stationary, waiting for more to be deployed. Multiplayer mode is not player v player, from a certain point of view. What it is you go scouting other players bases. U have 30 seconds where u can decide to look at a different base, attack the base ur scouting, or return to ur base. An attack lasts for 3 minutes. And the opponent does not attack you because if ur attacking them then they are actually offline, and will be stealing a portion of their loot, that you can use for ur personal gain. This is something that you will be a victim of as well, but it’s not that inconvenient as it’s easy to get more loot. Also keep every builder that u have working no matter what to maximise how fast u can upgrade ur base. Soz if this was long I just realised how long I’ve been rambling wtf I have to go manage my base I just got to town hall 10 (th 10) for the second time, wish me luck
Considering Clash Royale's recent downfall, it's absolutely wonderful seeing creators such as MattShea pick up a beloved Clash game such as Clash of Clans for the first time! I'm loving this series so far, keep up the fantastic work! - Also, a bit of advice for the future when you get more builders; try to save one for upgrading walls whenever your defenses are down, loot waste (when the Town Hall bonuses kick in for leveling up your Town Hall) can be a serious problem and this is a good way to offload that loot, especially once you get up to some of the higher Town Hall levels! Also, for when you unlock the air defense, please include it on the interior of your base and surround it with other defenses, a lot of players love using balloons to wipe out a base and it's good to keep that air defense alive for as long as possible!
Small tip for attacking. Funnel. Funneling will help you out tremendously. Lay out so troops on the sides of where you are wanting to attack. Then shortly after lay our the troops you want in the middle of those troops. It will help with the ai of the troops.
Tips: -do not rush townhall levels!! really take your time to do EVER SINGLE upgrade before upgrading to the next town hall (or in ur case gem your way there), that way you won't have a rushed base -do the multilayer battles! you get WAY MORE loot than single player, star bonus loot is CRAZY and you get trophies -upgrade your walls. -upgrade your traps, they can be really strong in late game -use ALL your builders at ALL times -do the challenges to get lots of rewards -put time and effort into builder base, it is SO worth it Reply with any other tips, please P.S this video is a great second episode to what is going to be an amazing series 👍
the first upgrade you should do at any new town hall is the laboratory. Also, keep builders and lab upgrading constantly, but especially your lab. The lab usually takes as long or longer than the rest of your upgrades combined.

For tips you can request Clan Castle troops from your clan by pressing “REQUEST” and you can use them to blow through the campaign! Tips on mechanics: - Most troops just attack the closest thing - Giants always attack defences - Goblins always attack loot sources - Some other troops target specific things (and some do extra damage to certain things) - Tailor your army to a tactic that suits you and use all troops each attack so that you have the correct army for your tactic - Always have all of your builders working - In attacks, the first star is for 50%, the next star is for the town hall, and the last star is for 100% - DO NOT upgrade your town hall before everything else is maxed
Tip: When you're starting a town hall prioritise on upgrading the laboratory (due to the town hall boost), clan castle, army camps, but don't forget to leave walls for last, otherwise you're going to have like 200 walls left when you have everything else maxed.
as a th12 rushed f2p player, here's my tips : 1. DO NOT RUSH ! Rushing is like skipping into newer town halls without maxing every single building (each town hall has like limits you can't max everything at like town hall 2 lol) so just upgrade everything, when you click on the builders, and there is one the town hall upgrade left, that means you are maxed 2. well u can now spend as much gems as you like cause ur a p2w player, they said do not spend gems so that you can get the builders faster without spending money on clash 3. do not let the builders rest, that might sound morbid, but just keep upgrading buildings until ur maxed 4. join a clan asap (you already joined one so yea) and keep requesting, because you can get cc troops, which is op for new players (cc troops means clan castle troops) thats all, and also do the same thing to the builder base (tip #4 does not work there there is no cc troops) the builder base is the second base that u already can access thru the boat.
Big tip for you: since you have an amazing community, you can recive very strong troops from your clan member which can defend your base or be used to attack others. Extention to this tip, since early goblin bases lack air defences balloons and other flying troops will be very strong
Matt cc means clan castle and i recommend later in the game you don’t follow the suggested upgrades. Plus the attacking in this game is like battle cats where the gaints are the defense targeting meat shields and you have the Harding hitting troops behind them
matt! make sure to use the little “request” thingy above your clan castle. your homies in the clan can send you units from their bases that will be stronger than yours and help your troops out during battle. Also make sure to upgrade your clan castle so they can send you more troops!
Notice me Matt senpai! One good tip No.1 I'd give u is that u should request troops using the Clan Castle. That's what that guy in comments meant by CC troops. Tip No.2 :- As for upgrades and stuff, upgrade these things first - army camp, barracks, storage, troops in the research lab, collectors and then lastly the defences. Focusing on defences doesn't really do much especially early game. No one would even attack u if u don't have any resources so go for more firepower and resources first. More firepower = better chance at destroying any enemy base = more resources to upgrade defences. If u buy the gold using gems or real money then yea just go for the defences right away. U don't need to max everything, at least not the walls because those are the worst and most expensive ones to finish as u get higher in townhall level. For defences I'd recommend upgrading them in this order archer tower > wizard towers > cannons. Tip No.3 :- And the builder hut side (the other side that chu used the boat for). Try to get the gem collector there at least. U can build a gem collector that'd give u free gems. It's not a lot and very slow but it's better than nothing I'd say and it's also kinda fun playing builder hut matches sometimes. (Edit : oh also you can unlock a 6th builder for the main village by playing builder hut. But it does take quite a while.) Smol tip No.4 :- Removing obstacles in both sides has like a 75% chance to give u 1-5 gems (idk the exact odds lol). So removing those obstacles is a good idea if u have some extra resources. Most of the obstacles cost elixer to remove. They also send out exclusive limited obstacles that only appears during anniversary, christmas etc. and it's different every year so u might wanna collect them. Just thought I'd mention it so u don't mistakenly remove those. That's all the tips for now. I know it's a lot haha. I don't know if you'd even read this but if you do I hope it helps! matt here is some tips: 1.if you can see there is stars above the “attack” button, that is called a “star bonus” (you collect stars from battles) and once you get 5 stars you get “treasury” the treasury will go to the clan castle and youll get lots of resources. 2. theres is a button that has a hand and arrows around it, and that button will help with making your base. you can copy bases from either from the web or certain apps. 3. you can request troop from your clan, this could help with your defence or offense. be careful tho for other player who have cc (clan castle) troops thats all I have and i enjoy you playing my childhood games, and i recommend a games called boom beach it has the same play style as coc. LIKE THIS SO MATT CAN SEE!! 👍👍♥️♥️
Id suggest to keep your town hall and mortar near the middle, this will prevent easy destruction of the town hall and the mortar will guard most of your buildings.
9:40 and 10:11 tip, place 1 or 2 troops to check if theres traps so you don't lose as much troops, another tip, play multiplayer to earn stars, once you earn 5 stars you get a reward and I think a bonus too. hope this helps❤
Matt there are 2 ways to play 1. max every thing before going to the next townhall lvl or 2. you rush your townhall to get more exclusive building and defenses (recommend watching a video about rushing properly) :D
Matt, upgrading *everything* before upgrading your town hall is recommended! The Giant has the "favorite" type of Defences, meaning the Giant will only target defences(or walls in the way of the defences) until there are no defences left, at which point it will target the nearest building, like archers and barbarians do.
Make sure to play practice modes, put traps outside walls which are protecting your defenses, and rebuild gem mine (in builder base) cuz it gives you achievement which gives 20 gems.
Alright Matt. Some help on what some things mean Cc = Clan Castle (Also can mean creator code, which I advise using in the top right of the shop to support a creator. They get a portion of the $ spent so I'd look for some creators that may help you like Judo Sloth, clash bashing, galadon gaming!) CWL = Clan War Leagues (which will be unlocked in a Clan at the end of every month. It is a 7 day long war that gives you CWL medals. Which you won't need to worry about yet unless you max like Townhall10 super fast) TH = Townhall (but I believe this one mightve been known.) BB = Builder Base. (The boat on the left side of the map. I'm not super far into the video yet BUT I'd figured I'd help you recognize the acronyms) Another few things I'd like to point out. I understand you'll be putting money into the game, but I do reccomend saving some things such as Super troop potions (for sneaky goblins which are unlocked at I believe TH11?) training potions (They will boost your training product by I think X10. If you use one make sure you're attacking consistently and also training consistently.) Builder Boost (X10 Builder speed for 10 hours, so make sure you use them when you have max builders upgrading. Try not to be wasting the time on them, and also maybe save them for later Townhall since upgrade times get big.) Book of buildings, spells, and fighting. ^ They can ONLY be stacked of you BUY them from packs. If you don't, only 1 can be carried at a time. If you try to claim one from like gold pass for example whole you own one, it'll allow you to sell it for 50 gems itll allow you to use the own(s) you currently own before claiming it. ONLY USE BUILDING BOOKS ON BIG UPGRADES. (Ex. Eagle artillery later in the game, maybe barracks if need be, Clan castle, th, ect) Book of spells is pretty self explanatory. I'd use it on the Rage/Heal spell until those are maxed but others may have different opinions on it. Book of fighting is for upgrading your troops. So I'd use it on bigger timed troops like dragons and Pekka later in the game. Definitely wait to use the books. (There are hammers of those too, it let's you upgrade the thing of your choice whether that be a building or a spell for 0 cost and 0 time. Aka an instant upgrade for free. But you can only get them from CWL medals) Now onto the Builder base. I personally don't focus on it once I get the extra Builder it gives you. It's very pricey and imk potentially not worth it unless you're gonna spend money and play the game alot. I would just aim for it if you really want it (you get it by maxing certain buildings and the hero) and I would also max the gem factory which produces gems for you overtime. Hey Matt here's a tip: Certain troops have different preferred targets, for example barbarians and archers don’t have a preference and will attack the closest building. Giants on the other hand have a preference of defenses. You can see what their preferences are by pressing the info button on the troop. You'll get the hang of it!
Tip: some troops focus on defences (like giants) the goblins focus on the gold and elixer. Other troops just go for the towers closest to them. Also don’t upgrade your townhall unless you have upgraded all towers.
A useful tip you can use for all th is: Upgrade your offence first so: Army camp Barracks and laboratorium Then try to upgrade your defence and ‘loot’ at the same time. With loot I mean all of your storage and gold mine and elixer pump And don’t upgrade your town hall until you maxed everything, you can click the builders to see what you can still upgrade, moet of the time what the builders recommend is not the best to do. But keep going Clash of Clans is a hard game and it takes months or even years to master, so just keep going
Tip: Read the description on the troops on what they target first. Barbarians and Archers target the building that is the most closest to their ai so you need to really strategize on how to place your troops.
Kind of a clan tip: when you eventually set it to invite only make sure you inspect bases that are good and not rushed like some atm even though they are town hall 15 or like a high town hall (10+ possibly) because rushing makes the clan look bad sometimes no offense though I understand you want to have everyone in no matter what
tip: those white squares around your buildings is where enemies cant place troops, you should use layouts early game by other people, i recommend using judo sloth's layouts on youtube
WALLS!!! (most expensive gold upgrade) LAB (upgrading troops makes them far stronger and you'll do far better in battle) BARRACKS (new troops are a must, early game always use giants and archers) CLAN CASTLE (your clan mates can donate troops to you which will be extremely powerful early game, higher your cc more troops you can store) Make sure you buy all the new buildings and upgrading everything to max before going to the next townhall, if you rush your base it will be super weak, currently you have a shield which prevents others from attacking you. the builder will tell you everything you have left to upgrade, GOOD LUCK!
hey matt if you do plan on spending money on the game you should only do it on special offers. Clash of Clans pretty regularly releases waves of special offers that are way better than just buying gems. also the gold pass if/when you unlock it is the BEST value for your money in the game

The way the stars work are that you get 1 for 50% destruction the second one for destroying the town hall and all 3 is if you destroy the whole base And every troop does different thing (giant attacks defensive buildings before everything else, barbarians and archers attack anything closest to them, wall breakers target walls.) you can see what the do by reading the troops stats from in the barracks by clicking the button in the top corner of the troops selection box when making an army
Absolutely wait until you've maxxed every building before upgrading the town hall!! Also, you should upgrade the lab as soon as you can: the "army buff" that you get after upgrading your town hall makes ALL of your troops go to the highest level possible with the current lab level: so, the higher the lab level, the better the army buff is. Heres something for you to save gems even if you spend money, NEVER EVER buy resources with gems. Only spend gems on gold and elixir runes (also dark elixir runes) and if you do have one of these, ONLY use them if your gold/elixir/dark elixir is empty like 0. You can upgrade walls or buildings to spend quickly. And as always, Great work matt keep it up
I rediscovered you by accident lol Also some tips: You can upgrade the laboratory while you are upgrading a troop Always prioritize army buildings (barracks, army camp, lab) when you upgrade the town hall to a new level The air defence and the wizard tower are powerful, so put them closer to the centre of your base, put the town hall in the centre as well.
As an expert coc player, you don’t have to upgrade everything to move on to the next town hall level, but if you have ocd go for it. Focus on upgrading stuff that’ll help your troops. Army camp, lab, barracks, upgrade spells and troops. Always upgrade those first then focus on defenses. And also upgrade walls they just look better
Here's a quick tip: Different troops have different 'Favourite Targets', this changes what buildings they will attack first. For instance giants target defenses such as cannons and mortars, goblins target resource buildings such as storages or collectors, wall breakers will target walls. All of this can be seen in the troop info menu, most troops (like barbarians and archers) have no favourite target and just attack the closest building.
I recommend you should completely max out the things unlocked at your town hall level (Like defences,walls,traps,troops and later on heros) before going to the next it will make your base more polished and more likely to defend against attacks
Also too add onto this there are certain things I believe you should upgrade first while going to a new town hall such as, The storages, laboratory, clan castle, barracks and lastly army camps

Winning a battle gives you amount of trophies which can get you to higher rankings which means more rewards That being said the only way to win on the defending side is by making sure the attacker gets no stars Despite this it’s important to be smart where and how you place your resources because the attacker can choose to attack for resources which may mean they don’t win the battle but will instead get a lot of loot
Make sure to always have your builders busy working, this makes your progress go faster. And please stop spending gems on skipping time. Its more efficient to buy new builder huts

Clash of clans tip You need to Tap on barracks and research Everything in there In order to Make sure that all your troops are Very powerful and everything Overpowered as well.
Small tip is if you wanna attack a base check for any builders in corners or other buildings just in case your gonna run out of time while attacking a base
I'll say if you're prioritizing what to upgrade first, surely its offense but you don't have much elixir atm, you should start doing some raids in multiplayer and farm elixir. As for Builder base (the night base you just unlocked) you can play both bases simultanously, you can also unlock a 6th builder to your main village. Just keep playing and upgrading, cant wait to see more on the next episode.
A good tip is to actually fight online even though I know your scared of them it can give you more loot and ever day once you collect 5 stars you collect more loot from your clan castle. Another good thing about online is the more you go up in rankings the more loot you will get to upgrade your base
If you rush to the next town hall without maxing your base it s a big chance that it will make you a "weaker player" because everybody that will attack you will get 100% because your defences are a low level and your attacks will be harder because the troops you have are still a low level , i hope you understand that now before you advance tooooo much
