It's nice to know where the money is going🤩 My boys were too old when those turtle🐢 guys came out, so I never would have known. What a clean and well organized thrift shop! I don't know much about Ninja Turtles, I don't know if they were a thing in Germany. But I loved the real turtle, you inserted at the end. The contrast between the agile Ninja Turtles and the unhurried turtle made me laugh. The thrift stores in Berlin that come closest to the one in the video are those from Oxfam. But the ones I know are extremely small, nothing like the one in the video. Other thrift stores specialize in clothing. In one, I equipped myself with too-short old men's trousers, a shirt without a collar, suspenders and a baker boy cap to go to a costume party as a little thief from the 1920s (the Roaring Twenties were the party theme). That was great fun.
The can of ninja turtles spaghetti and meatballs cracked me up. I used to get that for my sons. Who knew I should of tucked a few of those cans away.😂❤️🤣
Wow...what a neat (literally) store! Those plastic letters were used on a theatre marque! Insulators...they'd be coming home with me! I'd be there all day with those books and media items! I loved that closeup of the cute box turtle...another one of my favorite creatures. NO FR-GS...boooo!!!!
Darn it, if I would have known that about the letters, I would have picked them up! No frogs, though I did see a frog the other day in my aunt's little pond :0)
@@PaperandMoose Must have been neat...Ribbit. That fr-g squirt gun you sent is mounted in a frame, hanging on a downstairs wall...as well as the Bechtel Buckle. A woman friend in my senior group gave me her late husband's bronze medallion collection...a couple from railroads and Pacific Telephone Co, plus other corporations. There are ones related to JFK, RFK and Abe Lincoln...these go back to the 70s. I've seen N. Turtle stuff in my travels...passing up potential big bucks???? I'm not a seller or up on N. Turtle culture!

I love my local Habitat for Humanity Restore (also in New Jersey). My local store does NOT sell any media, nor any books. No clothing. But they sell just about everything else.

That is a wonderful. I recently went into a habitat for humanity store here in Texas and it was terrible. It smelled very bad and very strong dirty odor. Everything was dirty and / or falling apart. It was super expensive as well

Just a tip, when looking at the glasses that had the gold 'trimmings' on it, look around it for the Culver name. They are mid century modern and are a hot seller right now. A set of six can go for over $100 dollars. Add the metal display/holder for them and you might double that amount.
Those $1 area rugs are often samples from carpet stores. When they discontinue a color or style, someone buys them all and sells them for cheap. Back in the 70s, I believe, a good friend of mine took several multi color rugs and taped them together on the back to make a cool large rug for her dorm room.

Thanks for taking us along to Habitat For Humanity which is a very clean and well organized location. Thank you as well for the additional Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle infos. Yup, prices for this kind of stuff are exploding actually, because a lot of these folks are now in their fourties and remember the holy grails of their childhood. And some of them are willing to pay an extreme amount of $$$, that´s for sure. But these figurines have to be in pristine condition and in their original packaging as well, which is hard to find. One of the previous cleanouts that we did, probably a year ago, had such Turtle figures… in their original packaging… and multiples of each. An auctioneer had been first in the house, so obviously swooped those up. They sold in the $400 range, every one. The family said when their dad bought any toy, he would buy multiples - a few for the kids to play with & a few to put away. Very smart man!
Never saw anything like that in the ReStore that used to be here. Just building materials and sometimes furniture. It closed a while ago and apparently isn’t re opening., despite surviving damage a few years ago from a tornado, it came back from that. Too bad it was a fun place.
Hello Renee. I love Habitat for Humanity it’s always got some great finds . I haven’t been able to go for awhile because I’ve had to watch my money lately. But hopefully soon . I loved the alive turtle and the end. I’m a lover of turtles. My favorite Ninja turtle was Leonardo . I’m really shocked at the amount some of the Ninja turtle stuff goes for. Great video. If only we knew TMNT would be worth so much in the future. My kids loved them but I gave most of it away when they grew out of it. I've only a few pieces left. Too sentimental to sell it. ❤🐨
It is pretty shocking to see what certain figures sell for! There was an online auction in my area where they had figured still in original packaging… they easily brought in minimum $400 each. Crazy!
We used to go to the local thrift shops but not so much now, ended up with to much stuff Thanks for the turtle pointers, something I would never look at normally…maybe I should. Went to my Saturday flea market today, bought OK, nothing real special and spent some money Beautiful day though
Sounded like maybe there was money in that bank? Do you have to break it to get it out? What are the chances of what's inside being worth more than the bank? I guess it's like Schrödinger's cat. But probably not worth it if you have to break it. The book and DVD aisles around here are similarly large and I never feel like I have the time (or the stamina) to go through them. Maybe I should take a day off & do it. Instead today I cut the grass, hit a pair of pliers with the mower (not my pliers) and broker a $0.02 piece of lead called a shear pin. It's a little bigger than a Tic Tac. The mower won't run without it. Used to be able to walk into any department store or hardware store and buy these, but not anymore. And it's a relatively new mower. I'm going to have to order it online. Maybe I should have gone to the Re-Use Store! Have a great Saturday afternoon. Hot, humid, rainy here. I feel like a rich Victorian / Edwardian woman - I'm on about my 4th set of clothes for the day. Hope it's nicer there! Hope that bank brings in big dollars. Thanks for the video!
Isn’t that crazy how such an important piece you would think would be readily available in a store but nope! Hope it doesn’t take weeks to get to you, the lawn might have to wait! I believe this bank would need to be broken or possibly if one could drill a hole in the bottom. I had an ET one made of similar material & we were able to make a hole in the bottom to let the money out. Perhaps inside the turtle is one of the rare coins! Our humidity is back, but I’ll be off to the beach for a day or two… of course rain is in the forecast for when I’m there, but hopefully it won’t be a total wash-out!
I’m still waiting for the California raisins to bring at least $100 a piece. Then, I’m checking in to the local collector’s treatment center. I just never had customers that had more money than they had brains. A lot of dealers did take advantage of the ‘button’ lady who was trying to get to 1 million buttons. Shame on them!
I donate to this particular Habitat Restore often. However, one thing you should know about this store (this location) is that they allow the employees and volunteers first choice of items before they go on the floor. I've seen it firsthand on numerous occasions, and it was verified to me by the manager. Several of the people who work there are dealers.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that (but I think that’s a common practice in many thrift shops). Do they scan the books too? I’m happy with just the great selection they have of books, so buy many for myself to read.
One of the RE Habitat stores in my town is more like a boutique so the prices are higher. I have yet to visit the one in the downtown area. Maybe that one has better deals. I admired the tshirt of one of the volunteers and he took it off and gave it to me. I love it and wear it when I go thrifting.
They recently made a whole store just for clothing & their prices are a mixture, but they usually have sales. That is just as organized as their regular store!

I love the Habitat Re Store. Yours has more merchandise than mine. Also a different kind of sections. But the sections are great. I appreciate you educating us on what to buy.
Wow …. This Restore store is not the nor! I’ve shopped them for years in at least 4 states and not one of them is like this one. Girl, I hope you realize how lucky you are. I’ve never seen books or records in yours. Nor is it nice, I’ve seen glasses in a box no padding just all crammed in a box.
No Mutin Ninja Turtles items in my house. Was a bit older when that came out. Not many toys from my childhood kicking about at all. We're passed to younger brother, friends, family of sold at yard sales. I don't even remember them off top of my head? Was a GI Joe, Six Million Dollar Man & Stretch Armstrong figures sold at yard sale. Should of, could of but didn't keep. Oh well. I'd sell the figure at the market it a big pain to ship. 👍👍
It will go to the market. I don't mind selling larger items, but I can just imagine that even with layers of bubble wrap that the turtle might suffer some damage. Hope that you had a nice weekend!
Are they comfy? Wish I could have taken the pillow from the last hotel I stayed at, the most comfortable pillow I’ve ever used! I should reach out to them & see what brand they are.

During your intro with Paper and Moose walking side by side, why is it that sometimes moose has a ring in his nose and a rope with paper holding the rope while they walk and other times there is no ring and rope? I have to know! lol ☺ I love your channel and your videos rock!
Glad you enjoy the channel! I had the rope/ring removed because I was receiving too many comments/emails that I was promoting animal cruelty, sexism, etc. due to the ring & rope. I tried to explain that it was a Victorian die cut and had no "hidden" meaning, but it was just easier to remove it than constantly explain to no avail.
