Rodrigo, you are lucky that you don’t need to have your home inspected by the government. However, one good thing on having the house inspected is that the inspectors will make sure everything is right so you won’t burn your house down. You should put rubber or plastic grommets in the “C” channel holes that you drilled for the wire. The metal is very sharp and it can rub against the wire cutting through the insulation and causing a short.

Nothing wrong with a electric wash dryer. We live off-grid in Costa Rica, with a solar system. And we have a 100% electrical powered laundry dryer. When it runs it draws about 5500 watts, which is a lot. But it is done in an hour or less. We don't worry about the consumption. If you run it during the day, you can have up to 80% of the required energy directly from your panels. No worries about getting gas tanks. Those always run out at the most inconvenient moments. We cook using an induction cooktop. So, no gas in our house. Looking forward to the results of the laundry room build. The whole house is looking better every week, keep it up!

I have loved how Freddie has added to the vlog. I remember her first appearing and kind of dipping her toe into the filming. You could tell how nervous she was. Now she is filming her trip to Germany so we don't have to miss her experience while shes away. You two might not be together but you have never looked like more of a team. Yep, no dirty shoes in the house, it’s very much a European thing 😁 Before I married, I had to leave the US regularly because of visa issues, and like you, Freddie, I had “1 sad eye and 1 happy eye”. But then I got my green card, and eventually my citizenship. I still go to Belgium, about every couple of years, but I’m so over the looooooong flights. Yeah, traveling oversees gets very stressful when flights get delayed. There’s usually only 1 flight per day, so if you miss that one, you have to wait till the next day 😳

If I may I'd like to make a suggestion. I know you have said that you don't do the insulation in Panama. But you might want to consider doing it for your laundry room because it's going to make a lot of noise and the insulation wood tone that down also you could put a vapor barrier up and that might prevent a lot of the moisture from the washer dryer going into the rest of the house along with the noise ❤

Well it would be a fantastic surprise is you could have the laundry room done for Freddie coming home ❤

Rodrigo and Freddie, We just put my son Vasilios on a plan to go to Greece for three weeks and when he gas back he has to leave for University in 4 days. I get the emotions you are going through. Everything happens for a reason and because you miss them so much you know the love is real! I was hoping that Freddie would record at least some of what she was doing while away . . . AND SHE DID! I was so happy. The Electric Driver vs Gas Dryer is the type of plug. A gas dryer needs more power.

Freddie, Oh my earthquake’s. Goodness ! Years ago I lived in San Diego and experienced a 5.5 In the night. But my home town and where I live near now is on the New Madrid fault line. Freddie if you don’t know the history of the 1811/1812 new Madrid earthquake look that up. It was wild ! It caused the Mississippi River to run backwards. And it formed a lake, Reelfoot lake , There were over 10,000 quakes & large trimmers . They were catastrophic quakes. If they happen again Memphis Tennessee will take a huge hit. It would be devastating. I’m a couple hours out from Memphis but back in 1811/12 those quakes were felt in Boston. The quakes actually caused the church bells is Boston to ring , that’s 1300 miles in distance from Memphis to Boston. “ Boston “ my favorite music 🎶 on the 70’s my teenage band . Love them Still. Definitely look up the band Boston it will make you so happy, the coolest music 🎵. I know you are away and I understand how hard that is. Once my husband and I spent a month apart. It was wonderful to see him again. Just know how special going home to him will be. And look forward to that. And enjoy being with family. Your family really needs this time with you. It helps them. It’s very hard for a parent to let go. Even parents knowing they have children who are totally capable they need to see you sometimes. It helps them in the process of being more ok with them being away. Im going through that with my daughter. She’s been gone 7 years. And I just need to see her sometimes. It reassures me of our bond while it makes it easier to see her living far away . I get more accepting of it each time we visit. God bless you on your travels Freddie. Built a covered deck into your entrance and that way shoes stay outside on the deck along with the pups, they can lounge on the deck also, expanding your living area to grill outside and set up your hammock and enjoy the outdoors!

In the laundry room, you guys could do a nice accent wall by covering one of the drywall walls with a pretty decorative tile. It's an easy way to give the room some dimension and visual interest and make it look more custom especially in such a small utilitarian space where you're kind of limited on what you can do to decorate it.

You kids crack me up! You have video calls! Back in my day a month apart was absolutely no contact except letters in the post because phone calls were crazy expensive. We may get 1 or 2 phone calls for 3 minutes each the whole month. So think about that! 😂 Y’all are so cute. I have grown to love Freddy a lot. I wasn’t sure at first, but she’s blossomed on the channel & changed so much! I think she was just shy for a while. Now I think you guys are made for each other. So a month is not a big deal. It will make your relationship stronger. ☮️

A month away from her will be challenging, but it's also going to help you realize just how much she means to you. Clearly, you mean a lot to her, too. Connections like that are RARE. You've been with her 24/7 for long enough to know what you need to know. It's time to take the next step.

Oh my gosh!!! I was laughing out loud soooo hard when Rodrigo said "oh $hit!" His reaction to the earthquake was priceless! When my husband and I were married 40 yrs ago, he was in the US Marine Corp. Our first duty station was Okinawa, Japan. I had to go back stateside 3 months earlier than him and I didn't think we would be able to stop crying. We felt like we were being torn apart. It's good to love someone so much that it hurts to say goodbye & be apart. I'm glad you have each other. Don't take one day for granted!!

Not sure about Panama regulations but here in Canada you need rubber grommets when passing electrical wires through metal studs. Something about the wire cover over time with vibrations could break and then electricity would be live in the metal stud.

I wish I would have known freddie was going to be in houston, I would have gone to welcome her here and kept her company for her layover. I live a hop, skip, and a jump away from houston, its on the outskirts of Lake Charles louisiana Which is only about 3 hours away from Houston.. Rod my dad and my grandfather and my husband my son and nephew are all electricians. I grew up as an electrician’s daughter so my toys were kind of different. My favorite things to play with are those little colorful electric wire caps. I had jars full. And I made up games to play with them. I was the only kids on the block who had them . lol !

It would be nice to have a rolling buffet table in the dining room. You can use it to store kitchen items you don’t always use. But if you are having company you can place food on top so you have more space on your table. A rollling island in the kitchen would give you more counter space but you can make one side overhand a bit and add a couple of stools for more seating when needed. Lastly maybe finish drywall at the top of bathroom door :)

Yes, they say that a persons energy resides in a persons shoes. Some countries require you to take your shoes off at the entry before entering a home, like Japan and some SE Asian places. I think it’s to keep dirt and other germs from the ground from being brought into the home. Either way, I also require ppl to take their shoes off at entry. It makes sense, right?

You are so cute😊 yeah you run the power part of the dryer with electricity and heat it (dry the clothes with gas). My dryer here in America even had to have a water line run to it because it has a steam cycle on it. It's nice to use when I refresh items of clothes. If you get tired or want a change of the green accent wall, have you both ever thought about a thin faux stone wall? It's installed just with glue like the floor tiles, that would look pretty on your dining area too, just a thought. You and Freddie are doing an awesome job, love you both🥰

It’s looking great! If you haven’t finished the walls yet, add some insulation on the dining room wall and door wall if not all to absorb the sound create by your appliances. Does your dryer duct air to the outside? If not you’ll need to add an exhaust fan to the laundry to prevent condensation and mould❤️✨

Suggestion, put the batteries behind the washing machines as you won’t need to get to them that often and it would be good use of the space. Make the lines for the washer/dryer long enough that you can pull them out and get to the batteries when needed.
