I agree with Da Costa there. JEV screwed Antonio's chances of victory and endangered the field driving around with the wing damage and disintegrating the tyre. He sure didn't look like a champion there.

Robert McCann Da Costa really got screwed out of a potential win in that race, first with JEV staying on despite damage and then smoke, and secondly with the team saying he didn’t have problems with battery temperature near the end when he said he was concerned about how high it was getting, only for his team on the next lap to then start freaking out and telling him to go slow to save the battery. That said Gunther definitely drove well for his win.

It baffles me that they're team champions. Even last season they made lots of weird mistakes. I remember JEV being incredibly annoyed with his engineer on multiple occasion last season, but most of the time it was brushed away because he would often do well.

There's a lot of questionable stuff that's gone on with Tcheetah since 2 years ago. For a spec race, they have an interesting ability to suddenly pass 10 cars in very short time. These are all elite drivers too. The cars are, allegedly, tightly controlled... and driver skill is high across the board. They complained bitterly about Nissan using a different drivetrain, when it clearly afforded them no advantage in the points. JEV has never had regard for other drivers... recklessly swerving to defend positions but never penalized for it. Lotterer is a legitimately excellent driver, at least... and seems like a cool guy. But now that he's on Porsche, it's interesting how he's in the rear. While both tcheetah cars continue to miraculously pass anyone.... almost like they have an extra reserve of energy.

You don't see it here but they always told him that the temperatures were fine (to get him to overtake) and after he overtook they caused him to slow down a lot. Had they not said anything, he would probably still have won but the battery would have been cooler.

tbf Massa was probably super tilted from the completely dumb move from Mortara sending his teammate almost into the wall and losing 2 positions. Disappointed his rage from that incident wasn't on this video.

Great video once again. I don't see why so many people are complaining about the great quality of racing on the track. I personally do not think harsher penalties should be applied as that is the beauty of Formula E that people go at it without the concern of getting a penalty for every slight tap.

Philip Goldberg I totally agree with you, but this race way over the line. I have literally enjoyed every single race of Formula E... except this one. A penalty does not need to be applied too quickly in Formula E but in this race it Should have been used a bit more. Look at JEVs move on Vandoorne?! What in the heck is that? Just ramming him out of the way and damaging his Car in the proces?

@@woofzen8311 No Haekal is right. JEV is not a world champion, "only" is a 2 times FE drivers champion, because the category hadn't that title. Only for the next season, the champion could be a world champion.

Watching this in retrospective, what a great and deserving champion DAC is! I'm finally proud of being Portuguese and see a countryman win a significant title in a major motorsport. Parabéns António e as maiores felicidades para o futuro! I'm still in desbelief he pulled this off, major bet leaving a team factory like BMW, and major props to DS Techeetah for believing in him. WOW!

There was plenty of clean racing, look at the two Techeetahs overtakes who were pretty much all clean except for DAC at the end for example. It's just that statistically when more overtakes are attempted then more dirty overtakes happen.

its so very different from what we see in TV... the series are amazing... so are the teams and the drivers. Many of them had tough time during the reace. No doubt some of the situations on the track shouldnt happen. What JEV did was very very dangerous. I hope he will be penalised or at least will receive a warning for that.

I think the stewards should be way more stict with penalties. Sometimes it feels like watching MarioKart, i feel like 7/10 risky overtakes or maneuvers end up in a collision that arent or only slightly getting a penalty.

Toto Wolff called Formula E "Mario Kart" with real drivers. Personally, while I don't believe every racing series should be a real life Mario Kart, there's usually little to no choice in tracks so tight and narrow.

The cars need a smaller turning radius. I mean I'm not complaining about cars giving each other a nudge, but some people might not like that in the hair pin the only thing getting pinned is cars into the wall. ;)

Either a smaller turning radius or a wider exit from the hairpin corners are needed. Last season there was a glut of early race stackups because of this sort of thing, the track being too narrow at the apex or just after an apex.
