METHI CHICKEN RECIPE:
Preparation time: 20 Minutes
Cooking time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 2
Course: Main
Cuisine: Indian
Ingredients:
1 whole Chicken, cut into half , चिकन
1 inch Ginger, julienne , अदरक
2-3 Garlic Cloves, chopped , लहसुन
2-3 Green Chilli, chopped , हरी मिर्च
1½ cup Curd, beaten , दही
½ cup Onion Paste , प्याज का पेस्ट
¼ cup Oil , तेल
3 tbsp Ghee , घी
¼ tsp Asafoetida , हींग
2 tbsp Coriander Powder , धनिया पाउडर
Salt To Taste , नमक स्वादअनुसार
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder , काली मिर्च पाउडर
2 cups Fenugreek Leaves , मेथी की पत्तियां
1 tsp Cumin Seeds , जीरा
Few Fenugreek Leaves, मेथी की पत्तियां
Process:
In a mixing bowl, add chicken, curd, onion paste, asafoetida, coriander powder, salt to taste, black pepper powder, fenugreek leaves mix everything well and keep it aside.
In a large saucepot, add oil and ghee , cumin seeds let it splutter.
Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and saute well.
Transfer the marinade chicken into the saucepot and mix well.
Cover it with the lid and cook on medium flame till the chicken is tender.
Add few fenugreek leaves and serve hot with roti or naan.

Love the way u explains Methi seed is very good for back pain, add in rice poridge it really works. It is also used in authentic red fish curry from Kerala.

I fell in love with cooking watching how you cook and talk about food and the dishes.. i too cook now. You are an inspiration. But i have a problem with this recipe. Normally you upload the recipe with detailed ingredients. This discription is missing. The reason I'm saying is whole chicken weights anywhere from 750 grams to 1.2 kg so proportions fall out of range. If you mentioned the chicken weight it would be nice.

Vivek Seran.. Cooking is an art.. And no art is mechanical process. As a person who has learnt cooking 'by the act of it', I can assure you that you will never be able 'cook damn good food every other day' if you focus too much on proportions.. Let me tell you why.. Because the methi you will use.. The chicken you will use. The water you use to cook.. The spices.. The air and the ambient temperature.. Will never be the same.. It will vary with time and place.. So if you cook the same dish with exact same proportions of ingredients in a different state in India or in different weather.. You will see that the taste differs.. Even your cooking pan.. Or whether you are cooking on gas or wood defines the taste.. So. Stop worrying about the weight and proportions.. Start 'smelling' your food.. Tasting it as well ad you cook it.. And learn what different ingredients do to ll your dish.. Much like Ranveer mentioned that we will add some lemon juice if methi is bitter.. You seriously need to figure out whether you need to add 1 tspn of lemon juice orn1 cup of it.. So enjoy your cooking. Learn what different flavours and spices do.. And you will always know 'how much you need to put in' Keep cooking regularly and come back in few months..

Just prepared this recipe the same way teached ....just one addition, at the end i removed half of the quantity in other vessel and add dry kasoori methi ....both came out extremely well .......undoubtedly u deserve lots of appreciations and well wishes mr.ranveer ....no bitterness of methi in end product......hats of to u ranveer brar .
