SPIDER-MAN 1.0 

I was lucky enough to see 1.0 in previews back in 2012. I remember at one point there were technical difficulties during the show and the Green Goblin and Spiderman just ad libbed for a bit before it was fixed. It was hilarious.

A lot of these visuals look absolutely stunning. It's just too bad they're attached to such a terrible script with super impractical stunts that blew up in their faces.

Woah. Thought I would never see a glimpse of 1.0 ever. Please upload the full show!

A show like this could have been technically figured out by a company like Cirque if given the chance. Vegas could have been a spectacular sit-down for this show. All said and done, what Taymor did with this show was, from a design angle, incredible. Her budget was 1/4 of what most permanent install Cirque shows get and she really produced some unique visuals.

THAT’S where all the budget went!!!

Say what you will about this show, but the visual of the Chrysler Building going to street view over the top of it is INCREDIBLE

It's kinda crazy how Green Goblin is only in act 1 and the final boss of Turn off the Dark 1.0 is Arachne herself. Also that Sinister Six song is awesome!

I saw 2.0, so it’s interesting to see what has changed overtime. From what I saw, it seemed that 2.0 had a more consistent storyline. I still would’ve liked to see 1.0 nonetheless

The thing is the idea of the show on paper is amazing But they went over the top with some things that weren’t necessary They wasted more on sets than costumes, like of the sinister six. They were amazing, I even got the poster of them (I got when I saw 2.0) but the lizard had the guy head sicking out, and Kraven head was actually a mask, which isn’t necessarily a great idea. Also they could have mad a vulture or doc Oc instead of Swiss miss. But the video was amazing!

I'd love to see the Deeply Furious scene, with the spider womans with the puppet legs. This scene was one of the reasons why Julie Taymor, the director, was fired from the show.

this show is SUCH a mess, and god i love it. most of it is so bad its good, but dear god the sinisterio visuals are unforgivable. what were they thinking with some of those videos? i know CGI wasnt as advanced then, but still. yeesh

This should of been a theme park show at Universal. That's it.

This show changed my life when I saw it in previews in December 2010, and if I hadn't seen it, I don't think I would have gone to college to get my BFA in Music Theatre. I don't know why I thought 1.0 wouldn't be the same cast as 2.0. I guess I figured since 1.0 was such a flop, they would deny it's existence, and get new actors to have fewer witnesses. Lol

They were doing too much to make Spider-Man this Greek epic and that wasn't needed to tell the story. Shoot. Make Arachne Madame Webb and that could have made things easier. All good . The Spider-Man hero theme is glorious!

So much exposition and flash. Such little heart or story.

If they ever make a new version of this musical, they need give Lizard a new costume, because Lizard, in this play was laughable at best...I mean SERIOUSLY, HE LOOKED LIKE A DINOSAUR!!! *Sigh* Come on, man.

Not making a special trip to see this show is one of my biggest regrets. Judging by it's extreme pricetag, I figured it would run for ages.

If they just had special effects like this (but less dangerous) with an actually decent book and a score that isn’t so grating, this would have been a smash hit.

IMO, the gloomy score was always a bigger problem than the complex mythical story Julie Taymor was trying to tell.

comon people, you only started to laugh nd hate it once the set problems and injuries came on and the problems with the set arised. You never gave this story and show a chance (YES, even though the story should be combined with more of Peter`s origin from act 1 and the set and preparations were sped up and they should double take) and its music, songs, set designs, most of the costumes i agree the lizard and kraven ones were rushy though, acting, singing, unique and twisted story (again, addition story beats of more upbeat and origin based needed yes but...), and gravitated visual telling through the action!! Set and injury problems? Yes. second half of second act kinda jumping around? Yes. Geek Chorus unneeded? Yes. Villains aside from Arachna becoming a bit sidelined in the second act? Yes. Immaculately done? Yes it is!! The beginning and finale are tense and awesome. New villainess with a cold shoulder and exotic fate-lined love for Peter (AS Spider-Man) that is part of Peter`s history lesson that is a additional set piece that is additive to Peter`s story here and works FOR THE VIBE AND TONE OF THE SHOW. Its incredibly laud! Great show that needs a better and another chance!!

This is laughably bad, if I didn’t know that this was a broadway production I would almost think some of it was a high school production, while the set designs and stage work is impressive, the writing, story, and overall theme of it is horrendous, no wonder they dropped this just after a year and half.
