This was before DLC my friends: a time when you'd actually be rewarded for beating the game.

I love that Alex Ross's movie concept is the Superior costume.

This is what I miss from the old days.Unlockable costumes from the game and not from pre-orders or DLC.

What a gem, remember spending hours and hours on the game. Loved the different costumes you could use, seriously miss games like this.

I only rented this game as a child. My parents didn't have enough money to buy it for me, but I never forgot these costumes i unlocked through a cheat code and I love that Stan Lee narrates for each one. Bring back Bag-Man and many of the other costumes!

Fun Fact 1: The "Peter Parker/Quick Change" costume's mask, gloves, and shoes(?) are from the cloth version of the symbiote suit given to Peter by Black Cat shortly after Peter got rid of the symbiote. The reason? Black Cat was romantically attracted to Spidey and thought the symbiote suit looked sexier than the standard red and blue. Peter wore the cloth black suit for some time before Venom paid a visit to Mary Jane, whom at first mistook Venom for Peter. She was quickly proved wrong when Venom gave his trademark wide grin, scaring the sh*t of of MJ and traumatizing her. When Peter himself appeared to MJ in his cloth black suit, she asked Peter never to wear it again. He agreed and went back to the classic red and blue. Fun fact 2: The "Symbiote" costume's design was accidentally created by Peter himself at the end of the "Secret Wars" when the symbiote bonded with him for the first time; At that moment Peter was thinking about Spider-Woman's costume (which was also black with a virtually identical spider emblem). The symbiote, being mentally linked to Peter, took this as a "request", thus giving birth to the iconic "Symbiote/black suit".

The Alex Ross red suit was going to be Spidey's costume in Spider-man the movie but they decided to stick with the original look. It's even in Spider-man the movie game and in the special features for the movie.

Spider-Phoenix is from the X-men storyline EXCALABUR Negative Zone, Prodigy and Dusk are from the spiderman storyline IDENTITY CRISIS Venom 2 is from the marvel storyline EARTH X Alex Ross red and white are concept suits for the first Toby McGuire spidey movie

Rouge and Charles Xavier both appear in the training mode, and Beast appears in the first level which teaches you the basic (kinda like Black Cat in the original, although unlike her, he doesn't appear in the game after that level).

I have fond memories of this game back in the day. I remember this game to be promoted on X-Men Mutant Academy 2 for PSone.

That just brought me back in time to some good memories

@Sandman3220 Electro in a pure energy form, never appeared in the comics btw, check out the Electro boss fight, it was released today :D and read description before watching :P you can see it in my channel, it was uploaded 2 days ago (I put it on private mode so no one will be able to see it until the release, then changed it to public) and released few hours ago

Yeah you can, go to Create a Spider, pick your suit and abilities, and you'll be able to play with that costume in the game

this is a great game even though its like 10 years old i still play it

I thought Vicarious Visions did a great job with this follow up and I absolutely loved it. My only beef with the game is that even though it has 6 villains like the 1st part (Electro, Lizard, Shocker, Beetle, Sandman and Hammerhead) you only get to fight 5 of them as Beetle, while working with the other villains, is only in cutscenes. Wish they could have had a boss battle with Abner as well. Plus I found it weird that he didn't have a character viewer like the other villains.

I really liked Spider-Phoenix, Quick Change Spidey, Peter Parker, Spider-Man 2099, Black Spider-Man, Insulated Spider-Man and many more!

Create a spider? Like...mix the costumes together and get one big bad ass spider-man? Shweet:D

i used to have this game on playstation i loved it. i still like how the costumes make an effect on the game play unlike edge of time or shatterd dimensions

Too bad they didn't include the Spider-Armor MK 1 costume which is obtainable only by getting a power-up as a full costume in both games, it looks massively badass IMHO.

When it comes to the *Henchmen* *Hired Goon's* And *Mercenaries* of this game I wonder if there's a small video somewhere on RU-vid of them getting knocked off the roofs and high places by Spidy ?

I kinda wish they made a Spider-Man 3 with these graphics because I want to see what Green Goblin looks like in this artstyle. Closest we got to a 3rd was the Spider-Man 2002 game. I wonder if there's a fan project making a 3rd PS1 spidey game, knowing that there's many graphic designers out there recreating retro 3D polygonial graphics.

I heard that there was supposed to be a 3rd game after this one, it would’ve been cool if they made it. I think Kraven, the Green Goblin, KingPin, & Vulture we’re gonna be in a maybe a few more villains. Too bad it didn’t happen.

Basically, you get to choose a costume and 2 (maybe 3? I'm not sure) special abilities, it's a pretty cool feature imho.

I know this is because the ps1 limits but is a shame that mostly of all this awesome costumes does the same things just super strenght and unlimits web not really much change about the gameplay, it would be awesome if the Spider-Phoenix costume you can actually fly, shoots fire and all that shit

I know this that bettle doesnt appear in the character viewers. I know because he only appears once in a cutscene after run from sandman. But atleast add him. Like Captain America doesn't appear in the first game. But he appears at the end of the game. So why did they add bettle. He also was my other favorite villain besides Venom,Carnage and Mysterio.
