I've played the original pre-9/11 version which has the World Trade Center in it (which actually was released for a short time prior to being altered), and Thor appearing in it is just a rumor. He doesn't show up. The Bugle credited Thor with saving the day because the prescence of lightning.

Those two Spider-Man games were my first and I LOVED them. I ended up playing Enter Electro a lot more than I did the first, mostly for the extra skins, slightly improved gameplay mechanics, and ability to pick and choose special abilities and ad them to any of your favorite suits. The story was simple, yes, but I tended to ignore story at the time. As much as I loved those games before, if I tried playing them now I'd probably only play for like 10-15 minutes before getting bored and switch to something else, but I still can't condemn the games.

This game was meant to release in September 2001, so a couple of copies were sold earlier in August or so contained the pre-9/11 version. Which yeah, featured the final conflict at the World Trade Center, with Spider-Man realizing that Electro was there because he got a clue that he would be "at the top of the world." Thor didn't show up, though. As a result of the pre 9/11 version copies being officially sold, people were able to rip & upload that game data online, which means both versions are available for emulation. It's interesting to see how real world issues change games; it's not often we have both versions fully available to compare & contrast,

I absolutely adore the first Spider-Man game on PS1 to the point where I literally bought it on the Dreamcast and the N64 as well. The sequel is noticeably inferior to the first but it's still a good game. Well I don't like it as much as the first one I was still say it's about a 7/10 where the first one is a solid 10/10 and my favorite Spider-Man game with all time.

Is it weird to say that the intro of this game gave me nightmares as a kid? I don't know what it was, but that Electro sequence always scared me as a child.

Kids are scared by lots of seemingly innocuous things. I was terrified of Cell from Dragonball Z when I was a kid, even though there's nothing scary about him

I'll have to place her it again but I think if you shoot a web Hadouken when you have the ice webbing it should freeze An enemy right then and there giving you a free hit and basically turning spiderman into sub zero temporarily

I had an idea for a 3rd game.The title would be called Spider-Man 3 Reign of the Kingpin. The Main villains would be Green Goblin, Hydo Man, Kraven, Vulture, and Kingpin. The story is that the kingpin hired some of spider-man's villains to steal parts for a machine that will put all of New York citizens under mind control and will follow his command and it's up to spider-man to stop Kingpin before it's too late. Tell me what you think.

It's canon in my head now that there's a plot thread there that we never got to see, kind of like the cut Thor appearance at the end of the game

would have* There wouldn't have been one, though. Even if Sam Raimi's Spider-Man didn't come along, this game didn't make enough of a profit to warrant a third. Although if Sam Raimi's movies didn't come out, then the team who made the first might've returned for this, so the real question is, I wonder what their version of the second game would have been like

I captured the gameplay for this review on a PS2 Slim, at the time I didn't have the necessary setup to record footage from a PS3 so that wasn't an option
