The other franchise might had better CGI and actions but Tobey's Spiderman still my number 1. The storyline felt natural not forced and closer to our hearts.

The newer spiderman's are too cool for school. They really are not what the character originally was. Tobey's/Raimi's version is. Peter was awkward socially, spiderman was where he used the humor and the mask to let go of that awkwerdness. It gave the character a logical dichotomy that made him interesting. Like the concious and the sub-concious. In the newest 2 versions he is always a confident and athletic guy. There is nothing nerdy about him or a dichotomy. The character was distilled into "i'm just a guy with superpowers trying to hide my identity".

Also, Tobey's won't have problems of overthinking of running out of webs. Spider-Man was stressed on the 2nd film of having to live 2 different people (Spider-Man and Peter Parker), he also had problems with his job on the daily bugle.

@@swedlepop7092 I hope so, the spiderman movies so far in the mcu are okay but not great, the high school theme made it cringey with all the kid actors and jokes every 2 minutes. There’s no tension at all. I hope he improves as a character and grows independent in his adulthood as Spider-Man , kinda like ps4 spiderman , I want Tom to go thru that age phase

Compared to the first two for many it’s a let down. Plus Sony forcing Sam to do things he didn’t understand was just a disaster. I love Venom and the Symbiotes but he didn’t. I used to love this film but after watching The 90’s show, Spectacular, and Playing WOS it made me dislike most of this film. I love many aspects of this film like I do this TASM 2 but I don’t let small things blind me from the bigger issues. I’m very glad you love it though, not saying you shouldn’t just a quick explanation of why someone like me fell out of love with it. If it’s anything to note, I still adore the 360/PS3 game and think it’s highly overhated, just as good and better than Spider-Man 2 in some spots. Every movie deserves some type of love (except GB2016)

Even tho its a train reck with so much plot like venom but we also have the sand man story plus the romance and harry having to be redeem i still love the movie not just because its funny at some points, but also when it gets serious (like when peter took off venom) it was badass and really good, the cgi and the practical affects are also great.
