Fun fact: The final swing in this game is the beta of the planned scrapped final swing in the actual movie! The movie does not have the swing because they want to make more impact by ending the movie on the funeral scene instead!

They nerfed Venom. This game game out in the age where movie tie in games were out almost every year and they were basically just sold cause they had the same title. Stories were bad and quality was usually worse. The funny part is the PS2 version of Spider-Man 3 has better voice acting and more emphasis on the story of the black suit than this version and even the movie lmfao

One thing I noticed, even as a kid, Spiderman ACCIDENTALLY drops venom into the spikes. You can see if you pause just at the right spot, venom struggled too much and peter lost his grip. That makes venoms death even MORE horrifying

For all the game's problems, it does make one improvement to the story, having Venom kidnap Sandman's daughter to threaten him into helping kill Spider-Man. It makes Venom feel more threatening, makes Sandman seem a lot more sympathetic, and brings Sandman's daughter back into the story in the last act, something I really wish had happened in the film. The actual cutscene is so badly handled though, Venom looks and sounds awful, the voice acting is laughable overall, and the graphics give me nightmares.

It's possible this was how it happened in earlier drafts of the screenplay. Since both the movie and the game were in development simultaneously. But a lot of edits are made to screenplays during movie production, for one reason or another.

I think that death scene was pretty dumb. They could of used the death scene, from the movie and also Venom can't die that way.

This wasn't the new Venom movie tho. When Venom fell on those spikes (or whatever) it killed Eddie. The symbiote has taken a lot of damage such as all that noise that Spidey was using. In the new movie if Eddie gets killed or injured Venom will just heal him.

Spiderman has better jokes in the ps2 version. However, it feels like that version had a lot missing and had terrible graphics. Only thing this version lacked was the whole Morbius and shriek thing. The other version had kingpin, rhino, scorpion, and dewolf.

I like how in this game Sandman doesn’t want Spider-Man dead and just wants him to be gone for a few moments, and i also like the fact that Venom uses Sandman’s daughter as a hostage which forces him to join Venom. which gives him more of a character and a more logical reason on why he joins venom, instead of immediately joining him when he says ‘’let’s kill Spider-Man’’

yeah because the developers from Treyarch really didn’t want to give the script for part 3 of the film, so they had to literally guess what and how would be in the plot of the film, hence the many differences

Is it just me or when you hit the metal and then go for venom and hit him it sounds like youre opening a chest full of every flavour beans in the older harry potter games (philosopher stone and Chamber of secrets)
