Spider-Man 4 mcu update. The Spider-Man 4 plot is currently being fought over by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Sony, who own the rights to Spider-Man. A new Spider-Man 4 report brings both good news but could also mean bad news for Spider-Man and Spider-Man related projects in and out of the MCU like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 4 and Andrew Garfield's the Amazing Spider-Man story.

I disagree. I think you're assuming too much when it comes to the supposed failure of phase 4 and 5. I think you might have forgotten that we've gotten major victories in these phases, such as wakanda forever guardians of the galaxy 3 and what if season 2. On the other hand Sony has failed miserably in their universe and has ruined the face of marvel.

I’m guessing either an end credit scene that links to wider multiverse or some street level villains are actually variants from other universes that have popped in like how Vulgure popped out in Morbius. (Can see King Pin maybe utilising individuals that technically don’t exist in this universe thus loopholes for certain crimes or framing others if it’s a variant of someone king pin wants dealt with.)

Sony really missed the mark with the Venom films imo. I mean, the proper set up of establishing the Symbiote with Spiderman was a rushed add-on in Tobey's third film that I think Sam Raimi was offended by having to add into the film. Then they go ahead and relaunch Venom without the iconic spider emblem and no backstory connected to Spider-man. Then they finally bring to the big screen the incredible villain that is Carnage and the one-off him. Not only that, but in the comics, Carnage being the first spawn born under earth's atmosphere is the explanation for his varying list of powers. And in the Planet of the Symbiotes story, it was revealed that he had a new ability to absorb all base symbiotes and became Giant Carnage... but somehow he is easily defeated by Venom (who was initially to scared to face him) simply eating him. And with Carnage gone was the chance for a follow up... Maximum Carnage. That would have been an incredible (Avengers level) film if it was done right. And unless I'm wrong I think we have yet to see an actual villain team versus hero team. We've gotten Civil War but that was hero versus hero. We got Avengers Infinity War and Endgame but that displace members of a team fighting displaced members of a team or battleground fights with entire armies. I want to see a battle like Civil War but with a hero team versus a villain team. In Maximum Carnage the villain team was Carnage, Shriek, Carrion, Demogoblin and Doppelganger all of which I believe Sony has the rights to. The hero team was Venom, Spider-man, Black Cat, Nightwatch, Morbius, Capt. America, Firestar, Cloak, Dagger, Iron Fist & Deathlok. The first 5 are Sony characters and they could have swapped out the last 6 with other Spider-man characters like Prowler, Rocket Racer, Cardiac, Dragonfly, Poison, Ace, Captain Zero, Warrant, SHOC and many more. Planet of the Symbiotes could have been another massive story and an Avengers level film. Then there's Anti-Venom, Agent Venom. There's even a John Carpentar's Thing film similar story of a clone of Venom escaping the Arctic. So much potential with this character wasted.

Toby Maguier should do Kravens Last Hunt, Andrew Garfield should do a cross over with Tom Hardy's Venom, And Holland should do Spiderman 4 a new beginning. Street level fighting with Dare Devil crossover and MJ return. These would all do Sony and the Actors great justice.

Thanks for the Update Warren! Hopefully the multiverse story will be towards the end, maybe an incursion is happening on either tobys or Andrews world, where it is crashing into the mcu? After tom has defeated kingpins villains, but now something bigger is happening. maybe? Honestly Sony just need to back the hell up and trust Kevin Feige. So Ned's grandma from No Way Home, her apartment where we see Andy and Toby could be a nexus point in the 4th film, a sub plot that it imbues Mayor King Pin with more comic book accurate abilities whilst Tom witnesses his old friend in trouble as the mob push her out of her home. A good way to have it street level but with multiversal undertones, after all it is inevitable with Secret Wars that Spidey will need an arc that guides him towards that event.

Hear me out. Wouldn’t it be something if there were three parallel Spider-Timelines that operate 1-for-1 (All three Spidey’s are fighting Kingpin, albeit in their own various ways).. Scorpion(s), Vulture(s), and other baddies are all the baddies for each Spidey simultaneously. It’d take some doing, but three Spider-Man films all cohesive and connected by the conclusion. Maybe I’m just a big dreamer.

I have a decent theory with the symbiote now in Tom's spider-man universe, they could have it play out like this first fight with Kingpin, Peter gets destroyed, and maybe even bury him alive, except with kingpin having it done to him instead of Kraven burying him then Peter would emerge from the grave with the new black suit and for round two Spider-man whoops kingpin

I agree with everything in the video except the fact that they are bringing back Andrew Garfield, and Toby Maguire for the 4th spiderman movie. I want it to just be TOM HOLLAND Centered. NO MULTIVERSE CONNECTION!!!! I feel it will be too much for Sony and Marvel to have both Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire, In a Tom Holland Movie. Just keep it ONE SPIDERMAN, with spiderman villains and NO OTHER Superhero’s like DareDevil. And also I don’t think I would want Kingpin to be a in the Spiderman movie AT ALL. I unfortunately still need to watch Madame Web to fully understand the situation right now, but based on what I'm hearing so far I do believe Sony needs to give Marvel Studios full control of the Spider-Man brand. Whatever Sony has planned clearly doesn't seem to be working for them in the long-run.

Andrew Garfield is my favorite spiderman. loved his movies, a bit darker and serious tone to it but he did do his classic wise cracking. cant wait to see more of him in the future movies. just dig his way to represent spiderman it just works for me.

I like that compromise. Tbh, in the heart of the multiverse saga, to have a movie with a character as big as Spiderman and not connect would have been jolting for the continuity aspect.

Spider-Man and Daredevil vs Bullseye, Scorpion, and Kingpin brief cameos or mention of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Punisher. Movies ends with the FF or some superhero in a high power position talking to Spider-Man(Tom's) saying aye we need your help insert Secret Wars setup and Andrew and Tobey's Spider-Man is there too and we get a brief break from Spider-Man solo movies and move onto the Secret War and it's movies. WE DO NOT WANT THE 4TH SPIDER-MAN TO BE A MULTIVERSE MOVIE, WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A VENOM IN THE MCU SPIDER-MAN

Sony needs to bring Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, and Marvel Studios should focus on Kingpin being the villain with other villains working for him, like Vulture(return), Scorpion, Mysterio (Not Dead), Electro, Mister Negative, and other Spider-Man Villains. Also while Peter is facing Ned being Hobgoblin, because Ned likes MJ, but sees Peter trying to get her hack and gets jealous and works for Kingpin and since they seen a green goblin, they can use some of his tech. That's when Peter looks for Daredevil and has Miles and Spider-Gwen. And if they want to go big, they can bring The Defenders to help Spider-Man as well.

With Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, the whole movie should be street level while in either the first and second post credit scene, both Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man appear and seek help from Tom Holland's Spider-Man. And yeah, Sony still needs to stay out of the way and let Feige and the MCU handle Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

So let me get this straight, and correct me if I’m wrong. Sony is pushing for SM4 when they’ve already had two SM movies since Endgame. Since marvel only made 25% on NWH and even less on FFH, what incentive does marvel have for making SM4? I know NWH was a new contract, but what does marvel get now out of doing these movies for Sony for such little profit? Is it that he gets to appear in A5 & A6?

I just hope that Spider-Man 4 focuses on more Street-level action than the multiverse parts. But can’t they just wait to bring back Tobey and Andrew til ‘Secret Wars’. They’re ruining the MCU’s plan for Spider-Man & it’s pissing everyone off. Right now they’re really being impatient here

C'mon Sony be realistic. 1. Franchises created from one movie typically aren't planned. Great directors and writers focus on making one movie as great as it can be and the success/franchise happens because of that effort. Sony has failed several times because they went Massively ahead of themselves every single time. The pressure is always too much when turned up to 11. 2. Sony discounting the fans proves the rank idiocy of Sony films executives. I truly believe the animated Sony films have been so successful is because they have professionals making those movies. What Sony films have is a bunch of video game/electronics executives trying (and failing) to make movies. They are not capitalizing on what has been successful for them: video game movies. Take anyone of their VG franchises and they would make bank on them. Final Fantasy, lollipop killer, dead rising, c'mon get smart. 3. No Way home wasn't just successful because of the interaction of the three spider-men. It came from the return of Tobey and Andrew. Sony are idiots not to give them more solo films. Who cares how badly spider-man 3 wa critiqued, it still made a bunch of $. Same for Amas 2. That's where their spider-man profit is. They naively think you can create big budget franchises from low budget films. That only works for very rare horror films! Go big, or go home Sony!

Just had a crossing thought...what if Spiderman 4 picks up after No Way Home and shows Peter 2 picking up the pieces of his life and somewhat redeemed from how he saved Peter 1. He's somewhat uplifted but after 20 years of being Spiderman it is just overwhelming. I'm thinking it could be a send off like Logan, more mature, but not gritty and PG-13. It could even tie in the Vulture from Morbius and he just refuses to lose again in this universe...doesn't really want to kill Peter 2 but is so focused on how he lost his family and everything and somehow got sucked into another universe. ...and Peter 2 dies but it births another superhero....possibly Miles Morales.

I'm in a Discord chat with an animator from the Spider-Man animated series, and he's adamant that there's no tension between Sony and Marvel. He also mentioned that Tom Holland has expressed his desire not to repeat the same type of movie. Allegedly, the storyline for Spider-Man 4 involves Peter Parker navigating college life while working as a photographer. During this time, he'll keep an eye on his friends Ned and MJ, though they won't have significant screen time, each appearing in approximately 14 scenes. This setup allows for Peter to have some solo adventures. The main antagonists are rumored to be Scorpio and Vulture, who are working for Kingpin, with a potential appearance from Daredevil aiding Peter in his pursuit of Vulture. The movie is said to focus on more grounded crime-fighting, such as stopping bank robberies and dealing with street-level threats. Additionally, there are hints in news articles about the Fantastic Four's building opening, references to the MCU's version of Doctor Octopus, and even a photo by Eddie Brock being published which will setup the next trilogy ending with a proper Sinister Six based battle.

Even I want Andrew and Tobey back as their respective spideys, but this isn’t the right way to go about it. I honestly think Sony should reboot there Spider-Man universe, and within it consider focusing on Spider-Man variants in live action and actual villain movies. A live action miles morales movie/spider men movie with miles and Andrew wouldn’t be a bad place to start. And Sony should let marvel do what they want for Spider-Man 4 and 5. And maybe Spider-Man 6 could be a full fledged spider verse movie that’s actually naturally built up. Make a tasm3 and rami Spider-Man 4 beforehand, other spidey variants shows/movies come out. And you have a proper spider verse we’re everybody wins.

Call it wishful thinking but I do hope Sony has listened to both marvel & the fans, cos then Sony can have a truly successful universe. Best thing for them is to have marvel have major input into characters/plot of their films, that way it’s not all over the place, that it doesn’t contradict the shared universe/s & doesn’t lead people into a false sense of narrative/direction. I think a solo Toby film would work to A, wrap up his arc/show what was kinda planned for 4, maybe see Mayday Spidergirl as a new entry for that universe, with Toby then coming back for secret wars and the eventual spiderverse film later down the line. Andrew I think would be a prime choice for Sony’s shared universe as their main Spidey cos it’s a way to continue amazing storyline with a maturer webslinger but 1 who needs to regain the trust of people as a friendly neighbourhood hero. (Plus we can finally get Morbius/Venom/Kraven to interact with the Spider-Man character at last.) A maturer Spidey also means a darker story that the mcu wouldn’t likely touch or use, but can be canon without affecting Tom’s Spidey. As for mcu Spider-Man 4, there can be multiverse in it cos Kingpin is known to have a collider, or we can see street level variant villains popping up like how Vulture popped into the wrong universe after NWH & how other villains have been in aTSV too.

Why wouldn't Marvel try to cut a deal with Sony . We know , and so does Sony know too that by themselves they make crappy movies . Marvel should tell Sony they can produce the whole Marvel Universe video game universe . Sony has had huge success with its video games , and face it the Avengers game sucked . Sony can make any Marvel video game , and the rights to Spider-Man in movies goes back to Marvel . Any movie where Spidey is the main character Sony gets 60% of the take . If Spidey is in a movie they get a 10% take . Sony gets to run the whole Marvel Universe in the video game industry . I believe that Wolverine will be a successful video game , and all the Spider-Man video games have already been huge money makers for Sony . In Video Games where Spider-Man is the main character let Sony get most of the profit . In games where he isn't have a split that gives Sony 50% of the profit . Marvel/Disney gets the Spider-Man characters back for the movies . Sony makes all Marvel Video Games . Everyone is happy . Especially the fans .

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Marvel should cut Sony loose. If they continue to try and dictate things, ditch them. Yes, the mCU loses Spider-Man, which is sad. But they can’t let Sony mess with their plans. Especially with Sony’s track record.
