*Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse* Was 10/10 - First Time Watching

Prowler Miles is actually voiced by a different actor, Jharrel Jerome, who is Afro-Latino

This one is strange because you would think his last name "Morales" came from his dad, but it seems only Miles' mom is Puerto Rican?

It actually doesn't make sense because kids take their accent from their peers not their parents but maybe the neighborhood is different. According to the Net, Miles's father took his wife's name when they married. His last name was Davis and he no longer wanted to be associated with the Confederate president.

I think it’s more of a gauge of his emotion. Look at EVERYTIME he’s with miles. It’s a genius touch to see how he really feels about situations

He was straight up called out as Uncle Aaron in a deleted scene. When he's webbed to the car after the interrogation scene, he calls his nephew to tell him he's gonna be late and calls him Miles.

The Prowler wasn’t originally Aaron Davis in the comics, (Aaron is also unsympathetic in the ultimate universe comics he spawned from,) Hobie was the Prowler as originally introduced in 1969, he currently operates as the Super Hero Hornet, he’s been one of Peter’s allies for decades now. In 2014 Spider-Punk was introduced, and in 2015 his backstory was delved into, Spider-Punk is from Earth 138, like his 616 counterpart he’s American, not British, (the movie version is from 138B,) in his universe the United States is led by the fascist President Norman Virgil Osborn, and he fights back alongside his best friend Captain Anarchy, and his Spider-Army, he’s just as cool in the comics as he seems in the movies.

When Peter first scans him it says Prowler under 'known aliases'

That part is so hilarious to me, my theater absolutely exploded with anger when that TBC hit the screen lol. Like 4 of us remembered.

I don't get why people are so mad about it anyways. This isn't anything new in movies. They get split into two parts all the time. I like when it's done well because it builds anticipation for the next one even more. People are just entitled and want everything now now now.

@@Alran109 Yep, that's the other thing. A lot of exaggerated angry reactions. It's not the first time we've had movies in two parts or with cliffhangers: Back to the Future II, the last two Harry Potter films, Matrix Reloaded, Dead Man's Chest... even the LOTR and Hobbit movies could count. The only legitimate reason for annoyance I can think of is that Beyond the Spider-Verse is surely going to be delayed because of problems with the animators and strikes, but that could not have been anticipated when production on the films began.

hell I'm a comic book fan been watching all the films and follows comic stuff and I didn't even know so it's not that much of a shocker because I was shook in the theater with the continued credit lol 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@johnnyboy2388 I wouldn't say ignorant but most likely unaware of 2 things: 1) In general as long as the mother is in good (not pregnant Serena winning the Australian Open good, not motorcycling webslinging _superhuman_ good, just regular everyday good) health, pregnancy itself is a relatively low risk physical state. It's the complications that can result from or occur during labor and delivery that are more likely to kill a mother and child (like the blood clots Serena's doctors ignored). For instance, before the medical field adopted germ theory, mothers and infants died from infection because birth attendees weren't washing their hands or sterilizing the tools used during delivery. 🤢 Today a large percentage of births go well because maternal and newborn health care has evolved in most developed nations to the point where it actually saves lives. Sadly 2) the United States leads those nations in maternal morbidity and mortality, with Black mothers and infants the most at risk, meaning Jess Drew's pregnancy is high risk not because she's fighting crime but because she's pregnant and Black in the United States. Ironically that's probably not at all what people are referring to when they voice their concerns over her condition.

What's the quick rundown/basic deal with Insomniac and Spectacular Spiderman, if you can fill me in! The only comics I could afford were Archie comics during my youth.

Spectacular Spiderman is from a show released in 2008, it basically sort of loosely follows a story similar to the Tobey Maguire movies but in a series format with many more villains such as Rhino, Shocker, Tombstone, Venom, and is highly considered as one of the best Spiderman cartoons ever that unfortunate never got to release Season three though the creator said what would've happened in it As for Insomniac Spiderman he was made for the PS4 game and is a Spiderman who is veteran and has been a hero for several years, he is also arguably considered among the strongest Spidermen ever due to some of his feats and exploits, in one of the conics released for it he also gets a suit that makes him a Speedster Hope these are good enough for basic explanations

@de606returns6 you have me interested in Insomniac for sure. Are his comics still ongoing? Learned recently there's an app that allows you to read official Marvel comics...! And yes that was a nice quick rundown.

@@mirage1049 yeah, I wanted to try and make sure I didn't spoil the entire game especially because it is something you can easily access whereas Spectacular Spiderman is a bit harder to watch, and also there really isn't much about him other than the games unfortunately,

one more thing that wasn't mentioned in the movie is that miguel lacks traditional spider sense and works on pure reflexs, thats why he was mad at gwen not telling him about vulture's attack behind his back in the opening sequence

The MCU's Aaron Davis did work under the Prowler alias by the time he met the MCU's Peter. Karen mentions as much in the data scan.

Yeah I really loved Mario but this was many levels above that. Hate that it’s a two parter tho. Especially because it’s not even being worked on yet. They have a title and a release date they can’t meet. It’s very sad.

@@senzanome7302 Beyond has nothing written. It’s not even started on pre-production. For an animated movie that’s stupid. Even if they started working last month it would be at least 2-5 years. Don’t yell at me for knowing WHY they are at fault.

Venom is only connected in name alone. It's the loosest possible connection so Sony could keep the rights. Spider-Man 3, with it's weak presentation of Venom, is far more representative of the Venom as a character. The Venom movies being only a very brief joke cutscene the two times they're linked to other movies shows how important those movies are.

I don't think that scene was cut, cause I remember it. And Miles' focus was on saving his dad. The Ms Marvel series also shared the same sentiment where Kamala's Imam taught her that "if you save one person, you save the whole world"

@blazedonakayak1 yeah but they can still die, spider people aren’t invincible. If they risk themselves dying by being on the job then they shouldn’t force it on someone not old enough to consent to those risks

@blazedonakayak1 yeah but you don’t bring your baby to a place where a shootout is likely as a police officer, so you definitely shouldn’t bring your baby to a battle as a Spider-Person. MJ said “did you bring our baby to another fight?” He’s brought her to more than one occasion where he knew a fight was likely to happen. They should be willing to sit this one out for the sake of their children.
