actually this scene doesn't make any sense. This level of illusion is not consistent with what mysterio could do in this movie. Drones create illusions around the person not on the person himself and illusions can't touch him. While the scene looks cool, it's actually wrong in the context.

Keep in mind though this mysterio had a whole team of people who helped him with everything he did. The scene where he thanks everyone shows that, he wasn’t the one who came up with the costume and he wasn’t the one who came up with the story of the elementals. Sure he’s still super smart since he came up with B.A.R.F. But they still made him more of a team villain then a singular one.

Let's all be honest. Beck (Mysterio) still would have tried to kill Peter regardless if he knew the truth or not. One last loose end, one last reminder of the man he hated the most, and for the fact that he would most certainly know Peter would eventually find out and try and stop him like he had in the movie.

Just when you think you know whats gonna happen next, something else entirely happens. Im so glad they did a scene like this, because it shows just how amazing Mysterios illusion tech is

All that mattered was getting him to tell them who else knew. They needed to hit him psychologically to make sure he wasn't think clearly enough to see through the real scam. Even the part where they give him his red suit is to trick him in the final scam; to make him think "red suit = illusion, black suit = safe". The whole thing depended on him not figuring it out, meaning they needed to put him off balance and keep him off balance, never giving him a moment to pause and think. Maximum psychological damage was necessary to achieve this goal.

Homecoming has charismatic vilain. Here there is only a lot of FX (and paradoxically not so good sometimes). Apart from this scene, there is no idea of staging, every thing is : FX, action with big monsters, joke for teenagers, FX, big monsters, joke, .... Jon Watts is not a great director. He has no signature. Spiderman deserves a better movie.

As much as I loved far from home, it wasn't so much a spider-man film as it was an MCU film. For people who wanted a film about spider-man's charisma and ability to sympathize with the antagonists, this didn't have it. What it did have was millenial/gen z humour and fantastic visual effects, and for that I still adore it, but its direction and plot are void of the heart that makes other spider-man iterations such as Homecoming what they are.

I mean if you really want to go that route he should have known this Fury was a fake because he's the one who brought him to the fake SHIELD headquarters in the first place, or whatever that place was supposed to be. No way would the real Fury bring Peter to a building that wasn't 100% secure. It can be argued Mysterio got the jump on him started to make him panic from all the illusions meaning Peter wasn't thinking straight.

fun fact. JAKE GYLLENHAAL was lined up for the lead role of peter parker during the original phase of spiderman in the early 2000s but was replaced by Tobey Maguire, now we time jump into the multiverse and they're both in what could possibly be the final installment of the spiderman series for a while... another fun fact, both men were in a movie called brothers, if youve never seen it, do so. its intense and very dramatic on both of their behalf but definitely worth the watch.

Mysterio doesn't realize how strong Peter is... Tony Stark did. Tony even did the math. Even holding back Peter managed to visibly crater that cement pillar. You could see his casual strength in how Spiderman casually catches the winter soldier's punch in Civil War

To be fair, with the Ultimate universe, Mysterio is the same one as the Amazing universe, where he found a way to jump dimensions and became a major threat. Taking villains that paid him enough to go back and forth to escape or to get tech from both universes for his own gear.

My favourite scene of the whole film. The editing is beautiful and such a mind fuck. I'm glad it took us 20 years to get Mysterio as a villain in the films because you know this level of quality wouldn't have existed in the original trilogy. The icing on the cake is the scene that follows after where Peter is riddled with fear and doesn't know what's real anymore.

4:38 this might be a stretch, but looking closely, you can see "tony" in an older version of an ironman suit, i think this is because mysertio heard of tony's death but didn't realize tony also made a nanotech suit

Watching this scene in theatres was such an amazing experience. The audio of Mysterio speaking to Peter felt so immersive. It doesn’t feel the same now but it’s still an awesome scene

@@justsomeone6949 Venom won't be in it. They've already said that Venom and Spiderman meeting will be an entire film in itself, because thats the only way they can do it properly. Plus, No Way Home was supposed to release in July.

if your curious about how strong Peter actually is, if you see carefully in minute 2:39 you can see Peter actually punched a brick wall thinking it was mysterio, and it literally got crushed, imagine if it had actually been mysterio😮😬 Let's all raise an applause for the best Superhero in the MCU 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

This scene is actually the source of my second biggest problem with this movie. I watched this in the theater, & I was like "Yes! This is what I wanted! This is _exactly_ what Mysterio is!!!" & I wanted more of that, but we never got it.
