Yeah, that's what makes this game so special. It's the main selling point of this game: not only for fans who saw & loved the Raimi Trilogy like me & u, but also as a marketing strategy towards those who are new to the Spider-Man franchise who have not seen the movies yet. Likewise, the game's developers r basically helping Sony & Sam Raimi out by effectively introducing the Raimi Trilogy via this game (And it worked).
@@joshuafuqua4154 You're talking about a game that was made in an era where almost every movie has a game, especially superhero movies (remember the Wolverine X-Men Origins game? Or the Fantastic Four game? Hell, even Ghost Rider has his own game) so it's not surprising for the Spiderman games back then to be heavily based on the movies. But now, people want to do their own original thing.

I always loved that little victory screen that has spider man smashing the amulet also kinda wish this game had a sequel involving carnage since I kinda forgot he was referenced in this game
@@thehale_ Actually,that could be referencing back to the game "Ultimate Spider-Man" considering that the game also had Carnage as a boss and the universe was within the Ultimate universe.
I really loved this game, i always played this with my brother. When we are still at elementary school, we loved this game very much and we have a funtime playing it, nostalgia.
This brings me nostalgia when i used to play this when i was younger, my BFF borrowed it and never got it back since then, i guess i can't get mad to a BFF over a game

This game is based on the Raimi films but from what I read it's set in a world similar to the raimi one where the same events played out except for the obvious difference being the villains didn't die. Also now that I'm older and I think about it out of all the places Venom could of been lurking in a bell tower was the worst place he could of picked for did he forget high sound frequencies are his weakness.
OMG ! I remember playing this a lot... I used to know a lot of the secret places where XP and special powers stones were hidden I think in bushes and breakable items , and there were some branching gates that contain side missions you didn't have to play to complete the level , I think I can remember them !
I remember buying every single ability , I webbed up mini bosses (the big fat ones) they get completely tied for a few seconds , and I could throw these big catapult web balls at enemies , there was this messy web blast (long circle in projectile mode), and I had the swing move early on in the game (long X) , it can move you out of difficult situation real fast... but I hated the poisonous green webbing it was ugly and unauthentic , but I couldn't remove it after purchase... I think you could zip towards edges you fell from and save yourself... man , goddamn it , the memories , I feel so weird now !!! MY CHILDHOOD !!!
I beat the game like 20 times when I was a child. I know every inch of the game. If you ever do another gameplay, I have a tip for you: in boss battle such as green goblin or doctor octopus, jump while you get bombs/boxes. It's safer that way.
You CAN jump and throw the projectiles. And you can web grab them in mid-air. I'm just saying because that would make this more easier and a little less frustrating.
i absolutely loved this as a kid, i played mor times than i can count on ps2 lmao could not remember the name only the boss fights, tysm for this video it brought back many memories
Lmao the memory’s I remeber when I didn’t know you had to press triangle on the controller to switch characters so I turned on two of my ps2 controllers and played as the other dude😂
Part of me wanted to see a sequel to this game. I liked the idea of joining forces with some of Spider-Man's allies and foes to take on a common threat.

I’m ngl, I liked the game so much that I used to sleep with the case just admiring how cool the cover looked…. I must have beaten the game at least 5 times too
Sad that lizard and Harry/Newglobin are not bosses in the game and we don't fight them and sad that it was Nick Fury and Mysterio They are not as playable characters 😢 😔And we would have a continuation with other villains like: Carnage main villain Secondary boss villains would be: Hobglobin Shocker Electro The Kingpin The Rose The Swarm and Tarantula The Enforcers Chameleon Hydro-man Morbius Man-Wolf And finally Vulture and Kraven the Hunter + the Sinister six 😢😔 Sad that there was no continuation of this game and these characters are not usable in the 1st game Who out there also knew? like and Bye!
So the ending was setting up a sequel because Nick Fury called the IT project Carnage which would have implied that this next game would have had the Carnage symbiote
Me and my cousin used to play this all the time but we could only reach halfway through sandman boss battle the problem was cd got damaged but we didn't understand that at the time constantly hop8ng this so called glitch(what we thought at the time) would not occur for once and we cwn continue of course thst did not happen
I remember that I only played this game to be able to play with spiderman and Venom, then in the fight against the sandman my sister turned off the PS2 and I lost the save
This video popped up in recommendations and…daaaaamn, this brings nostalgia. And what keeps me wondering, how the hell kids games have surprisingly catchy and cool ost? I mean, look at Venom’s theme, despite being the easiest boss I like these gothic parts in his theme, or Green Goblin’s with these techno parts (also Rhino’s theme somehow reminds of Crash Bandicoot)! Really damn surprising..
Since this is loosely connected to the Sam Raimi films, can you guys imagine if Tobey Maguire, William Defoe, Alfred Molina, or even Topher Grace reprise their roles as their individual characters done in the movies?
Doctor Octopus was the lamest. First, he doesn't even look good. The trechcoat should be open and where's the hat? Second, the fight. All he does is use two cannons and then fixes them while we hit him. The Psp one was better.
