I was not prepared for the insanely emotional, hilarious, and gut-wrenchingly perfect film that 'No Way Home' turned out to be! Even though I already knew the reveal of the special web-slinging "guest" stars, there were still plenty of surprises (and tears) that I wasn't ready for. Tom Holland was once asked about the accent thing. He said the British accent uses more facial muscles, so an American doing British (when they don't do it much) has a harder time than a Brit relaxing facial muscles to do an American accent.

His face!! He just has those expressions that make me want to cry. The biggest feels moments for me was that, TH's face and voice when Mae is dying, and the conversation among the 3 at the very end when he's saying goodbye. JEEZUMS!!

This movie has more fan service than most marvel movies, which is saying a lot, but does it pretty well, which says even more. I maintain I’ve never felt like there were more serious stakes in a marvel movie than when Peter is wailing on Willem dafoe while he cackles maniacally. Legitimately creeped me out

I mean for real. That is just scary as hell. I feel like even though I totally know how acting works, if I saw Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich sitting next to me at a restaurant, I'd keep my eyes on my plate the rest of the meal lol

Apparently Holland said it very much creeped him out as well in an interview cause he was just doing his scene like script called for & Dafoe just kept going w that laugh & sharp turn back of his head like repeatedly & he was getting spooked so bad he kept stopping at moments he wasn't supposed to. Can't remember what interview I saw that in??

I'm gonna be honest here & i straight up loved the first Avengers movie and that was at the top of my list UNTIL No Way Home came out & it is amazing & my #1 fav marvel movie!!! Just the best in so many ways❤💞❤️

Ok so I have to think about this.. I hear you, and I"m prone to kneejerk agree because a) clearly I trust your judgment by now, and b) I'm still coming off the high of just seeing this. But Endgame was really, really great and "On your left" STILL gives me chills. But on acting, and the sheer emotions this one made me feel, I think you may be right.

@@DavidvsFilm yeah for sure Endgame was up there for me too, but this one just hit me in the feels more so than any other. Could be that good ole I'm old nostalgia thing too. And any film w Dafoe wins. He's such a bada$$!!! lol. Maybe it was the menopause kicking in, but I was a mess w some of the scenes in this. Garfield catching MJ & getting his salvation moment had me sobbing cause that movie ending of his was so fricken sad & he never got his 3rd movie so just like I said lots of hitting u in the feels w this one. For me Endgame had its huge shock & awe moments, but Spiderman brought decades of gen of fans together for I think once in lifetime type event & pulled it off very well!!❤️

I'm sure they took few liberties w it being a movie, but honestly I think w this one they got alot of details really accurate. Have ur "keenex" (ie tp) ready & w backup cause it's a tear jerker!!❤️💞❤️

The statue of Liberty is only green because we don't clean her constantly. She's green because of oxidation, her real color is copper.

Oh yes, absolutely you're right of course. I should have said it better in the moment.. I meant that our regular old green Lady Liberty is gone, and this is one is all new and shiny again. So I was just wondering if something happened I didn't remember. At least this one looked like it was back to shiny copper again.

Great reaction as always. I really hope that you'll react to some of the Marvel shows, especially Loki and Moon Knight. On a personal note, I want to thank you for your consistently amazing videos. I read Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield were in the movie before i saw it, but didn't know how much they a part of the story. Marvel is very detailed oriented with the movies. When they were in the apartment, on the tv screen, there was a graphic of public approval of adding Captain America's shield to the Statue of Liberty.

This was one of my favorite movie going experiences! And the cameos were definitely like the worst kept secret. Everyone knew even though it was never confirmed. Aunt May dying was shocking but done so well! Yes, the acting was really next level. I really enjoyed how they paid homage to Gwen Stacey’s death…. Yes, as previous comments have confirmed, lizard and sandman were superimposed. Of course, they did the voice acting but couldn’t make it on set. It was due to COVID I’m pretty sure. I thought the Statue of Liberty changing was a bit abrupt but there’s a deleted scene (in the extended edition) that mentions it before we see it… if you ever do a rewatch definitely check out the extended edition just to have some extra laughs and fun and references…. a few references (and memes) from previous films appeared in the theatrical which I’m not sure you saw because some were cut from the video. I especially enjoyed “I’m a bit of a scientist myself” lol. Anyways great reaction as always, and can’t wait for the next one!

Thank you so much!! Yeah, you know what? Every time I think I know what I'm doing with Marvel movies, something reminds me that I do NOT haha. First, I used to always forget about the mid-credit scene(s). Finally in this one I remembered to hang on for those, but I didn't even THINK to check for Extended Edition vs. Standard. :( Aunt May really shocked me too. I thought it was especially a good move making her stand up and talk so that you think everything's fine, then boom. And yeah, like you said, I knew about the other Spider-Men (though I had not heard that they spend so much time in the movie- that was a nice surprise), but I didn't know about all the villains returning (even better surprise).

They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits But do you know who else deserves a big thank you? LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys

your reactions are awesome!!! thank you for this experience. i thought this movie was pretty cool, the unhealthy amount of times i expected to watch from this movie is beyond astronomical, which made me stop watching this. but yknow of course, i will never disappoint for this excited marvel journey you got going on. i am on board. (i literally gave my dad a list of what to watch before the marvel television series) (so if you watch wandavision, you have (other than infinity war) the age of ultron & civil war avengers movies, captain marvel, the ant man movies are optional unless you know the plot, especially the second one. also it's easter eggs GALORE so don't let the comedic idea choices fool you, there's layers under each of them.)

Thank you so much!!! Awesome comment, and I really appreciate the info at the end. When I did my Marvel journey, the place I stopped in order of the Phases was Phase 4 with Loki Season 1. So from Black Widow on I haven't seen, except for one-off viewings of Multiverse of Madness (mainly bc I love Wanda Maximoff), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and now No Way Home. Oh and the only one I haven't seen in Phases 1-3 is Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Like yourself, Tobey Maguire is "my" Spider-Man. I avoid trailers and any info as much as possible with every movie or TV show so to see Tobey Maguire turn up in this made me happier than a pig in shit!

Ok! You know I trust your judgment. And Michelle Williams!! No offense to her, but she always struck me as the "eat my M&M's with a knife and fork" type of actor, too good for the blockbuster extravaganza that is the MCU. ;) So that also gives the movies an extra layer of credence for me.

Happy St. Patrick's Day(and Movie)Sunday, David! And Happy St. Patrick's Day to Marc as well! 🍀☘️ I kid you not, I'm actually watching this movie on the dvr right now. And it's going to be on tv later this afternoon. LOL! As much as I love the other two Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, this one is my favorite. 4:49 - 5:06 Glad that you already know who Matt Murdock aka Daredevil is. 👍 I very highly recommend checking out that show when you have time. I really love how first the villians, and then later Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were worked into this movie. 23:31 - 24:28 May's death is the one scene that's always so hard to watch no matter how many times I watch this movie. Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei both did a phenomenal job with this scene. 31:13 - 31:30 I absolutely love how Peter 3(Andrew's Spider-Man) was the one that saved MJ. You could tell that he was thinking of Gwen in that moment. And he didn't want Peter 1 to loose MJ the way he lost Gwen. Willem Dafoe's portrayal as the Green Goblin ranks high next to Josh Brolin as Thanos. Loved seeing all of the Spider-Man villians back for this movie. I very highly recommend the 2012 Tom Holland movie "The Impossible". Marc would most likely enjoy that one as well. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

It's funny you mention that movie because I had not even heard of it until very recently. When I read the synopsis, I was shocked that it is *12 years old and got by me. I initially heard the title and Tom Holland, and I got excited thinking it was a new movie coming out lol. So long story short, yes, I would definitely love to check it out! I was honestly floored at how great No Way Home was. I expected it to be a lot of fun, but the depth of the performances- ESPECIALLY TH, Marisa Tomei, and Andrew Garfield- truly did surprise and impress me. I mean everyone was awesome, but their performances were especially great.

Like in this case, I'm literally watching special effects show me 3 Spider-Men slinging around the Statue of Liberty while the sky splits open later, but it doesn't even occur to me that they could have created a fake Rhys Ifans. lol

This group feels the most like real high school friends, their time after May dies is done so well. William Dafoe is such a legend! When Spiderman is beating him and he's just smiling and laughing, terrifying. "Young when they came out." Sure, sure 😆. I love the spidey reflexes working even out of body lol. "Really s****y writing..." I thought you didn't watch the movies after this yet 🤣. You should be Happy for Halloween, and Marc should be dead Aunt May lol. Sandman turning so fast is one of the few things I don't buy in this movie. Garfield Spider awkwardly agreeing about the "with power" line because his uncle used a different dumb sounding saying. "You're in so much pain huh?" 🤣 Venom was so wasted. I wonder how the Happy and May connection is now? Strange to know her through Spiderman but not know who Spidey is. The Venom 2 post credit scene was such a tease.

Yeah totally agree about the friends. I didn't have it in the final edit, but there's a line from MJ when they're looking at the MIT picture Ned has, and she says something like, "Yeah, they look just like us, minus the frisbee and the smiling." I honestly haven't heard a lot about Venom. I assume it's good, but I haven't heard from you on it before now.

@@DavidvsFilm as far as Venom goes. What we got was really fun to watch, but after someone described the Venom comics to me I understand why Venom fans don't like it. I also wish we got something along the lines what was described in the comic to me, but I dont think it would mesh with the rest of the Marvel movies. You will definitely enjoy Venom, the humor is right up your alley. What do you think of the Happy and May idea haha

No Tobey hadn't met anyone there before. I don't remember the full interaction out of context but no 😊. Also i think this movie was the first reveal of them adding the Cap shield to the statue of liberty so i guess they're just maybe cleaning it up whilst they add to it? Honestly I'm kinda glad they didn't do it. I'm not even American and i think it's stupid 😂😂

Ahhhh ok good, yeah, even watching the full movie back during editing (aka me not talking haha), I still didn't really get why Tobey was seemingly familiar with Ned's family and his overall disposition, but I'm probably just misreading it.

35:24 Your respect for Tom Holland's acting would skyrocket if you react to THE IMPOSSIBLE. He got the role of Spider-Man BECAUSE he's a GREAT actor. Watch that movie, and you'll see. Your Walmart analogy doesn't apply AT ALL! These actors came back for one reason only-they were offered a sh-load of money.
