Nerd out time! Basically Dobby is an abused house elf. Harry ends up freeing Dobby after tricking Dobby’s master into giving Dobby a sock (when an enslaved house elf is given clothing it is then freed) in later books, all the main characters are captured but Dobby come and saves them. Dobby is an elf and elves have magic much stronger than a witch or wizard’s magic. He ends up saving them all but right before he can teleport everyone including himself away, a knife is thrown into his chest and he died.
