Yah, but tom holland is pretty good at the 'i have no idea wat I'm doing, but I just wanna help' side of Spider-Man, plus he's in the mcu, so no more reboots now lol!😎
I just realized that the whole game happened because Peter was late for work. Since he was late there was a malfunction which caused Norman to cut funding for ottos lab making him make tentacles to get revenge on Norman while recruiting the 5 villians
Bobo Boy buddy, I've read a LOT of comics on iron man, the avengers, Spider man, Thor, Hulk, etc. But i like Peter the most because of the fact that the comics and the game give spider man consequences, like in Civil War, he revealed his identity and Aunt May got shot, there are things at stake when he does the wrong action. And thats why I love Spider-Man because he isn't a billionaire playboy, a green giant, a god, no he's a kid that has powers.
I can’t believe how much Spider-Man lore they managed to pack into ONE GAME. The classic comic elements, nods to the Raimi trilogy movies, Miles Morales...! Well done, Sony.
I always dreamed for a Spider-man game that will do what the Arkham series did for Batman. Too bad it's exclusive though everybody deserves to play this beauty lol.
@@Yoshikage8008 it wasn't bad. You can't compare this peter to homecoming since one is older and basically Peter from homecoming with 8 years of experience
I love how this version of Spider-Man doesn't fall under the influence of Iron-Man. He's his own man, learning as he goes. The MCU could learn a lot from this game.
@@winterking2510 I believe he has potential, especially now that everyone has forgotten about him and he is alone, now he will really have great responsibilities
Don’t forget about potential Game of the year contenders like Red dead redemption 2 and fallout 76 if those games are as great as they can be then Spider-Man won’t have a chance. However if they aren’t as great then Spider-Man might have a chance
In my personal opinion, this portrayal of doc ock is better than the portrayal in spider man 2. They're both great and I loved both, but the emphasis on the relationship between Peter and doctor octavius made the story a lot more heartbreaking in this portrayal.
Well for starters there's only so much you can focus on in a 2 and a half hour movie. Of course the game is gonna do a better job of hashing out the relationship between Otto and Peter. Also to your other point, Otto becoming evil in this game was based on a disease that was effecting his body along with the Arms starting to control his motivations. In the movie the motivation is his wife dying because of his miscalculation of the reactor along with the arms controlling his motivations. Both origins for Otto seem pretty fleshed out imo. The game is obviously gonna do a better overall job story wise because you can spend 20 hrs on cutscenes, and extra in game dialogue etc
Honestly, this is my favorite Spider-Man story. The characters, the drama, the action, the heartbreak, everything is peak storytelling. Insomniac had outdone themselves. A true 10/10 experience.
Yea it is I'm really looking forward to the sequle this year I got me a ps5 just for the next Spiderman game. I can't wait if you saw the teaser for it venom will be in it same with kraven the hunter.
26:02 They even have a Stan Lee cameo in! This is truly a MARVEL game! Insomiac is now on my list of best video game developments of all time. And also on the top of the list.
They're always my favorite game developers. They're the ones that made my childhood with Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. Resistance and Sunset Overdrive are pretty good games developed by them too. Fuse is probably their only worst game that they made along with a few Ratchet and Clank spin offs. Other than that, most of their games have a good track record. Including their very first game Disruptor
Yuri Lowenthal acted the SHIT out of the emotional scenes, in the best possible way. He made them hit home like nobody's business. Officially my actual favorite VA.
I hvn't seen le moovee's. What i have seen is like a Tetris(tetnis) flying white T Tak with rainbow colour's all over it. Primarillee White vehicle. due East ov Close encounter'zs ov le 3rd kind landing site. About 1 yr ago. Visitor's ov le frioendlee medical kind.
this, is a solid spider-man story. Otto was amazingly written, really everyone was. they must've put a lot of thought into each character. and it was a bold choice to kill off Aunt May.
Literally took the best parts of Spider-man original trilogy, best parts of amazing spider-man, and best parts of homecoming all in one video games LOL
Ninjas_Tactical _ humor ? the other spidermans made me cringe so hard but the mcu spidey is the only one with a really good personality that's my opinion
Al Bal Because Batman's origin has aged poorly in a society that now confronts it's mental health issues in a healthy manner, and now he seems to model repression as a way of dealing with trauma. I don't know about you, but I don't think children should be emulating repression and hitting things as a way of dealing with what pains them. Batman's use of money is reckless. But Spider man knows that with great power comes great responsibility and he's actually stable enough to maintain that responsibility. It's not that one HAS to be better, it's that one simply is.
@@YuniX2 but thats what makes the Bat great. He is flawed. He was scarred as a child and his trauma made him into one of the worlds greatest hero. Not because he has money to spend. But because he saves the day using his wit and never give up attitude, without super powers. Batman is relatable because he looked into the abyss but wasnt consumed by it.
@Adrian the reason he decided to recreate the fusion experiment was because of the arms. As the inhibitor chip was damaged the arms could influence him, so they influenced him to do the one thing they were created to do: create fusion.
Fuck, they made Otto tragic again! I haven’t felt this bad for him since Alfred Molina’s turn as him in Spider-Man 2! At this time it actually feels worse. He really felt like a good, honest, and righteous man. Of course, I haven’t even seen the rest of him.
I still think Spider-Man 2's Otto was better written (and acted. Alfred Molina was incredible) That being said, this version of Otto was pretty great. And I think what made him stand out in this game was how close he was to Peter this time. And how much it must have hurt Pete to fight (and abandon) someone he respected so much.
Hi, um... can someone explain me why didn't Peter remember that otto knew his secret identity?? At the beginning otto catches Peter with the spiderman suit, but at the end Peter gets so surprised when otto told him that he already knew he was spiderman. Is this a plot hole?
A LP When Dr. Octavius caught Peter with the suit he figured it out right away but kept that information to himself. Probably out of friendship. So Dr. Otto made Peter believe that he thought Peter was the one that made Spider-Man's suits. I hope that clears it up for you.
I cried so hard in the final cutscenes. The developers handled the character development so well. They made each character seem real and have emotions and feelings that we can all relate to. The ending of the game was just perfect. Peter's want to help his friend that he worshiped for so long only for him to betray him and then ask his help and knowing that no matter how hard he wants Otto to come back he is forever going to be Dr. Octopus, and there is no way to change that. And then Peter's decision to sacrifice his aunt to save everyone else was just so amazing. He loved his aunt so much. She was like his mother, and she always cared for Peter when he needed it most, and even when she was dying, she still tried to value her nephew over herself. She was just so selfless and caring and her death due to Peter learning so much from her was just so very endearing and touching. I never was personally interested in the Spider Man series, but this whole game was just a master piece. Old fans could see future future events from a long ways before they occurred, and new fans were blown away by twists in the game. I haven't seen too much gameplay, but from what I could tell, it is also stellar. To put it all together, this game was just amazing, and it will be hard to find a new game to compare it too.
Yeah, especially when Peter had the chance to give the antiserum to her aunt but he refused für the bigger picture. Really gave me the Last of Us vibes but negative.
I love the whole MJ and Peter texting scene. He just flips around and hangs upside down in totally comfortable and natural positions for himself (but hella weird and impossible for anyone else) to read and reply to his messages. I like when the creators don't forget that he has Spider DNA and it would likely cause him to do spiderish things like prefer to crawl on the walls or ceiling of places since in spider terms they are safer and quiet. When you can walk around on just about any surface it doesn't make sense that you would never spend time on anything but solid ground especially in places where it is safe to do so like in the suit or at home.
Hang on… 1:46:00 During the conversation with Aunt May, when she said "Does she know the "real" you?", she basically subtly gave away that she knew Peter was Spider-Man! Holy damn, that foreshadowing, missed it!
Otto was still at the end of the day, a decent guy. He knew Peter was Spider-Man, but still kept that to himself even when he released the villains. His vendetta was with Osborn, not Peter.
I really loved those Peter and Miles moments! Those Fighting tips at 1:25:37 And that parallel spider stance at 2:45:15 To think Peter would become a mentor for the next Spider-Man
I think Miles will be playable in the sequel, Much like batman arkham city where you could play as catwoman, that would be awesome. Just my opinion I don't even have a ps4.
Wow... he has Sacrificed so much, Endured so much Pain... but he still continues to do what's right... man this Video got be bawling... Well Done!!! This Game is Amazing!
It's like Arkham City killing off the Joker. Mr. Negative is in the Sinister 6. Harry is the first Venom. Miles and Peter are alive together. This is going to be one interesting Spider-Man trilogy (because we know it's going to at least be that).
I think anytime a game has a story this option, it should automatically have a "movie mode" added that is unlockable by completing it. It would just be all of the cutscenes in order, but with certain, perfect gameplay footage from the developers added in as will with the hud/button prompts edited out so it's actually like a full movie. Definitely wish this game and Lego Marvel Superheroes had that included
It wouldn't even be hard to program or set up either. The whole Construction Site section with the Helicopter was actually given this exact treatment for the E3 Gameplay demo where they halved the mission and only showed the most important/entertaining parts. Even better they cando a bit of editing fun for things you couldn't do in game like changing the main suit to the Negative Suit for the Mr Negative segments.
Why isn’t anybody talking about the fact that this is the absolute BEST portrayal of Mary Jane Watson ever! Need to see this translated on the big screen.
God this game handled Aunt May finding out so much better than Homecoming, it's up there with the reveal in JMS' Amazing Spider-Man run - all of these cutscenes are fantastic, don't have a PS4 but this game is worth it for the story alone
Lord Fand Angus homecoming is more a lighthearted and early version of peter parker this when he was doing simple jobs and didnt have mutch training. Here this is peter after he graduated college and fully knows what to do as Spider-Man.
Fabian Lopez But even when Peter was beginning as a superhero he was so much better than he is in the movie. Even at 15, Peter was very bright, and despite being flawed he has always been very mature for a young guy. MCU Peter doesn't have any of that, he is just an annoying Iron Man fanboy who can't do things on his own. He is almost like CW Flash who never do something on his own.
Lord Fand Angus not really peters early years he wasnt really good with being Spider-Man. also did you pay any attention to the lesson of the movie peter rejected the iron spider suit that tony made him and peter baiscly said I want to do things by myself without needing your help and baiscly having responsibility. Also that was his first year of being Spider-Man do you really think he going to be good at that time no he's a noob in the being and got better latter on.
Fabian Lopez True, he wasn't in his early years but he was mature, intelligent and independent. Peter was the most intelligent guy in his class but he was an outcast. He was a guy who struggled to be a good student while having to worry about having money for him and his aunt and be a superhero. These key points are absent in Homecoming. Peter is not anymore the most intelligent guy because everyone is good in science in his class, even fucking Flash Thompson. He has a sidekick in Ned and while he won't have Tony help him every second he still has an A.I. in his costume that can do everything for him. And his main struggle was to Tony notice him and make him become an Avenger. I mean, come on, where is the real Peter Parker in the movie? And yes, you'll probably say that he didn't become an Avenger in the end of the movie, but this and other stuffs damaged the character. MCU Peter is not a unique character like his comic counterpart, he is just some random kid who is just another superhero. I knwo I'm probably soundind like a hater, which I must admit is kinda true as I hated the movie and Homecoming made me lost any interest for MCU movies, but when I watched Homecoming for the first time I thought I would see Petar Parker there but I didn't see Peter Parker, I didn't see one of my favorite superheroes, I just saw a kid that I just wanted to punch in the face. Tom Holland is good, but the characterization of his Peter Parker is all wrong.
You know what I noticed, Parker’s main suit in the game is a fusion of the Raimi, TASM, Symbiote, and MCU suits, but the character models of Peter, MJ, and Aunt May more closely resemble their “The Amazing Spider-Man” counterparts. Interesting.
Mary Jane wasn't even in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and Aunt May wasn't working at feast in "The Amazing Spider-Man". I assume you're comparing these to the films.
Where are my 90's kids who grew up with the 2002 Spiderman The Game? How crazy is it that we got the same Vulture voice actor to reprise his role in this game?! 16 YEARS and they brought him back and he sounds EXACTLY THE SAME!!! If you're reading this and don't know what I'm talking about, I urge you to go look up footage of the 2002 Spiderman movie video game, there's a Vulture boss fight, and it's the same voice actor that they hired for this game. His voice hasn't changed one bit.
JMotion yeah it's also the same guy who voiced Dr. Animo in the Ben 10 series. I can't believe myself that Insomniac managed to bring him back to voice Vulture in this game it's just so nostalgic hearing him again after 16 years of absence.
I like how you actually only used cutscenes. Most of these videos I find is just the full walkthrough without commentary but this is what I always wanted so thanks, man.
That cutscene after the final boss was really emotional and dark for a Spider-Man game. It gave me the chills so much, that I felt bad for Octavies. And the scene with Ant May's final moment, I could not get over her death for 2 weeks.
Fuck the ending was so sad, honestly brought me to tears lol. Never thought a Spider-Man game would get so deep. Really brought back old memories of Spider-Man 2. Love the relationship between peter n doc.
hands down one of the best spidey games i have every played. and even better graphics. like god damn i could see the pours of on guy. its this and arkham knight that gives me goose bumps
Probably my favorite portrayal of Otto in any Spider-Man story to date, I love how the writers knew we would all expect Otto to turn bad, so they went the route of making us hope he wouldn't, rather than pretending like it's a huge shock when he becomes Doc Ock
This is deep in his career, MJ and May are givens, they find out anyways no matter the timeline. Miles is too. Otto varies, but in the main comics he knows, which this game is based off of. You could feel the set up to a sequel/dlc so Norman won’t be long to discover it either.
Sometimes I wonder if it's just to make us more personal with Spiderman, or if it's just economical for others to find out to keep the story developing. But at this rate, a few more games and having a secret identity will be moot.
hands down... the best Spiderman story... the drama, romance, action, mystery and sadness in this film is masterpiece.. plus the acting is top notch broo... imo this even beats my favourite spiderman movie the amazing Spider-Man 2... i love everything in the story.. solid yet complex.. simple yet magnificent.. so good
