God damn you’re right, I do wish Hobie Brown Prowler got more attention after this video. I still love Aaron Davis Prowler, but I do wish we got more Hobie.
My same thoughts for having two shockers (one serious and other goofy) is the same for Prowler. Hobie Brown should be the first one still but show redemption qualities and he could have a really cool dynamic with Miles to help him not align with his uncle (also don't know if this is a hot take but I don't like Miles uncle becoming a good guy so easy, thats for Hobie).
I love Hobie Brown I respect him I hate when everyone interrupts Hobie Brown when he trying to talk in The Spectacular Spider Man Hobie Brown was The Prowler, and he was a anti hero too, Captain George Stacy, J.J. Jameson, and John Devereaux are racists but Flash, and his friends are not racists they like him, and they respect him too if the show wasn’t canceled they give a chance to bring the show back, and we see Hobie Brown talking in all episodes give Hobie Brown some respect, and love, by the way I’m a Marvel fans, and I love The Spectacular Spider Man.
Ive always been a more batman fan but i always enjoy your channel with your depiction of spider man's villains and the underuse of great characters like hobie and the sin eater
@@spidermania of course! I've always enjoyed the more underrated villains in the rogues like Jack o lantern or chameleon or just even morlun when he kills Spiderman which is a crazy moment imo
Fun fact, Hobie brown was actually in the spectacular Spider-Man TV show but he never had any spoken lines because he was constantly being cut off by everyone else. So theoretically, if we ever got a season 3 of the Spectacular Spider-Man we would have an up to date and accurate depiction of the prowler.
It would be really cool if the next Insomniac Spider-Man game managed to incorporate Hobie Brown as a New Prowler post Aaron’s retirement as a subplot for Miles. They could have him act as an Anti hero similar to Wraith in Spider-Man 2 where he acts as a Robin Hood type character who commits theft but for a good cause similar to Black Cat but a touch more sympathetic.
2:20 I'm surprised Jonah is backing up Hobie, because in early spider-man he was written as an evil villain, I was fully expecting him to be the rude racist one
I remember Prowler in TAS, but when I rewatched I realized why I didn't gel with the character: He takes over the episode. That episode makes Spider-Man feel like a side character in his own series.
But so I imagine Hobie Brown as Spider Punk isn't a scientist either, right? I loved his portrayal in Spiderverse but never realized Aaron Davis wasn't the og Prowler
I've been reading through all of 616 Spider-Man for the first time and it's baffling we don't see more Hobie. Great parallel of Peter and much needed representation at the time and even today. Plus his design is one of my favorites period. It feels so ahead of its time. Like 3 decades ahead of its time at least
Ngl I remember hating the prowler from the 90’s show just because it was just some story that was told to us by Hobie. We didn’t see things play out in real time and get invested that way.
Unpopular opinion I wish the comics would let Hobie Brown be the half brother to Miles’s father and Uncle or grandfather to Miles Morales because in my opinion him being a bloodline legacy character would be even more amazing for Miles character in every adaptation that really looks deeper into Miles confliction being good or evil if anyone grew up watching the show EL Tigre then you guys know exactly what I mean😎👍🏽💯 If any comic book writer see this make some epic retcon to this😎💯
