Also, I know this is late, But Marvel only Released Ultimate Alliance 3 The Black Order on Switch... No other versions, plus Spiderman on PS4 and the upcoming Spiderman spin off Miles Morales on PS5 are only going to be on PlayStation. Those games only exist because that company went to Marvel to make those games, marvel didn't seek them out to screw fans.

Martin Nichol multi platform games use this strategy a lot to promote their console. That logic doesn’t make any sense. The issue people have is no one wants an INCOMPLETE product. They pay the same $120 for the ultimate edition they expect to have everything that someone else who bought the same edition, but when they see that person who paid the same price have more contents than them, they get angry. No one wants exclusives like this anymore, exclusive games is one thing, but to buy a game and not get the full experience is anti Customer.
100% with Andy on the SNES Maximum Carnage remake loved that game so much having venom call in ghost rider for an assist so many characters made an appearance
Overall they are still getting a lesser version of spiderman than they would get otherwise they have already confirmed he will exist in a self contained story outside the main game, while still complete, he won't be integrated the same way all other characters will be.

I very much doubt the avengers version will play as well as the Insomniac version. In fact it would work against playstation because xbox users will play a shitty version of spiderman and assume insomniac's version is just as bad and will use that as a reason to not get playstation and spider man miles morales
That wouldn't be a good business move for Sony to do that. What they're doing by making content for only their platform will just motivate those who don't own a PS to want to go out and purchase one.

However, I still can't help but be disappoint of the fact that if I chose to purchase the game for PC or xbox I'd be missing out on an amazing character like spiderman. It really kinda makes me feel like the game should just be a PS exclusive if they are just going lock an entire character behind a specific console. I don't know how other people feel about this, but I found that my excitement for the game has drop significantly, to the point where I'm probably not going to be buying the game.

Why you guys always have to be a dick to PC players? Guess what? Not everyone can afford a console, many can’t even afford PC’s that can meet optimum requirments today, or simply they don’t want to buy another expensive gaming hardware simply to play those few truly good exclusives that come out yearly, many don’t like how console games are controlled. So instead of being a prick you should realise that this move by Sony is dumb, very anti-consumer and certainly not beneficial on the long run.
Microsoft has a history of getting exclusive content for multiplatform games. The first Marvel Ultimate Alliance had DLC that was exclusive to Xbox at the time. The Fallout series released timed exclusive dlc to Xbox first. Same with Skyrim. Turnabout is fair play.

As someone that plays on multiple platforms I don't like that content is restricted to a single platform. As I said before I would be fine with this if this game was exclusive but it isn't. Also there is the fact that sony don't own spiderman only the film and merchandising rights. I just wanted to share my viewpoint and it is okay to have a different opinion. I also don't want to have an argument in the comment section because I don't care enough to do it.
The last Lego game with spiderman came out in 2017, spiderman PS4 came out in 2018, Sony could have gained console rights to spiderman in 2018 and switch could be considered a handheld 1st so it doesn't compete with Sony allowing mua3 to have spiderman but not PC or Xbox which directly competes with Sony.

just as a correction, MS isn't moving away from full games, they're just also adding more content to Game Pass. The multiple studios they bought in 2018 are going to have full length games and such as well, not just streaming focused games

You can have any game on any platform being exclusive, no problems. With spidey, i was like damn that sucks and bought a ps4 for it. With cod and destiny, its timed exclusive, we will eventually get the stuff. But with multiplatform games with no attachment to a company, has a permanent exclusive its anti consumer. Thats a completely different this than console exclusives.
You're putting arbitrary boundaries on the meaning of anti-consumer. Why should 3rd-party exclusive games be any more or less anti-consumer than a DLC character being exclusive? And the idea that Sony has "no-attachment" to Square-Enix is absurd. They've had a long relationship of working together for decades and in the interest of maintaining that good relationship they usually give Sony first pick at exclusives and marketing rights.

Spider-Man Cartoon Maker was awesome when I was 10 years old. Worked out a way of importing JPEGs of other superheroes - Xmen, DC , Hulk etc. So I could do my own Spider-Man/Batman crossovers.
The difference between The Avengers and Spider-Man Game is that Avengers is multi-platform yet still has console exclusives for one single company, Xbox gets literally shit. PC can probably let it slide you can just hack it or some shit. The problem with this why should anyone buy the Xbox version? You get nothing in return but a worse version. They might as well cancel that version unless it gets a character exclusive as well. That so fucking toxic to make a character exclusive to console and not give the other version anything in return.

Heres the thing its different when its not a permanent exclusive. With spiderman we never are going to get the character, story, raids, villains, and warzones. With destiny and the such we eventually did get them. But no we will forever have less content, gameplay, loot. Exvlusive content on any multiplatform game is anti consumer. You say its not favorable to consumers but it does favor Playstation owners. Xbox players do not consume products from Sony so that means they are not their consumers. It would be anti consumer if it hurts their own customers, xbox players are not their customers.

Exclusivity is what sells consoles, Microsoft learned that for the next generation, that is why Sony has always been superior to it. The best games are exclusive, the recent Ghost of Tsushima is proof of that.

Seeing as of now they wont have any xbox exclusives then I probably wont be buying the game it's just kind of shitty that I have to own a totally different console to get the full game (i.e other missions, characters, ect.)
