peter parker looks like peter b parker from into the spider verse movie so the serie was in 2003 and the movie was in 2018 and in the movie peter b parker said that he gets a hard 15 years so 2003 + 15 = 2018 and both look the same and also mj they look the same and the serie mod look the same as the movie.
He looks more like a Green Basilisk to me. But I agree with you, this is one of my three favorite cartoon depictions of the Lizard (the others being from Spider-Man The Animated Series and The Spectacular Spider-Man).
So disappointing that this show was cancelled. I hope in the future despite it being cancelled they make a season 2. I really thought this show was amazing. Brings back childhood memories.
The weird thing is there are certain stuff from the continuity of the movies but other stuff is completely different. Like Mary Jane and Harry never attended college.
This version of the Lizard here always has been and probably always will be one of my favorite versions. I love the design, it's much more saurian than usual and intentionally a lot less human-like than a lot of the others. I like the added twist that he's in full control instead of having an alternate feral personality, and instead of _just_ wanting to regrow his arm, he's also out for revenge for losing it in the first place.
I love how even though he's dead, Norman Osborn is the gift that keeps on giving as Lizard is another Spidey foe that he's responsible for. In insomniacs video game, it was Dr. Octopus. In Spectacular, it was Vulture, Sandman, and Rhino. In amazing, it was Electro. Now, in this show, it was the Lizard.
"You mean this kid was there too? See anything kid?" "No, uh, it all happened so fast." "How do you know how fast it happened if you didn't see it?" Actual 5head logic
Its funny how the cop from every episode is the guy who voiced Jamison in the 90's series but he doesn't voice Jamison here still love how he's in this show too.
You could see Connors thinking twice about an untested injection, but alas, desperation won out. *and from the way the animals reacted you could tell something was going to go wrong.
More like Andrew looks like him, plus I believe his portrayal of the character was highly inspired by this cartoon and the tone, out of all 3 spider men Andrew's had the darkest tone and even some scenes from his movies seem to be picked up from this show, or at least give similar vibes.
@@owofrostyy8840heck, even Electro's backstory in TASM2 is slightly inspired from this show (Max Dillon being bullied by his colleagues before becoming Electro, although it wasn't as severe as the show, and the differences is that TASM2 Max was bullied by his co-workers at Oscorp, while TNAS Max was bullied and harassed by some wannabe cool kids at Empire State University). Yes, i know that TASM2 Electro's design is based on Ultimate Electro, but that's just for the character design, not the character's overall backstory or personality. Ultimate Electro was just an overall jerk with no tragic or sympathetic backstory, and he was just a crook who got his powers from being experimented by Justin Hammer's company.
Harry describes the Goblin arsenal if you listen closely "Drugs for human enhancement, W.A.F.E.R." The Goblin Formula, and what sounds like a pumpkin bomb
4:30 is such a cool scene, usually the generic criminals in spider man cartoons often act and sound like a bunch of stupid goons, but in this show the thugs actually seem to be somewhat competent and it makes the scene feel way more intense.
Maybe i'm replaying late, but i agree. Sadly this version of J.J is underrated. Of course he is not that charismatic as other versions from comics, movies, other cartoons e.t.c but he is still cool
@@Tesseract.2012 Ed's JJJ was based on the comics of the time mainly 1962 to to 1995 when the show aired I think this was during what I call the Pre-One More Day timeline which lasted from 1961 to 2007
This was the first Spider-Man show I ever saw. And this was the first episode of the show I saw… it didn’t help that I was afraid of werewolves and human-monster hybrids but at least Spider-man was kicking it’s ass so I could feel safer 💀
To me this is the darkest episode in the series and the most dark version of the lizard. Like the dude was terrifying as shit, Every version of the lizard conners isn’t in control but in that one he is and he knows what he’s doing, And i thought he would save em and cure him, but he just straight up died… Like Splat!
It seems like all the good Spiderman content I love get's canceled. I thought Spiderman TNAS and Spectacular Spiderman concluded, despite the bitter sweet endings and Amazing Spiderman films get canceled when I was looking forward to what else they had to offer. I hate it when things are canceled because of ratings, sales and BOX OFFICE.
Yeah that shit pisses me off Spectacular Spider-Man and Spider-Man the new animated series are my favorite Spider-Man cartoons and they always get canceled
@@peepsg It really bugs me that people say "It's for kids" and yeah kids do love Super heroes but sometimes heroes face dark and realistic problems like Tony Starks battle with Alchol. And even kid shows have done great mature episodes (Power Rangers for example)
8:54-8:58 - Were this in today's age, Barr would've said, "You're the only 18 year old in Manhattan without a SMARTphone glued to his face." And he would've been WAY more skeptical and incredulous about the payphone excuse.
peter parker looks like peter b parker from into the spider verse movie so the serie was in 2003 and the movie was in 2018 and in the movie peter b parker said that he gets a hard 15 years so 2003 + 15 = 2018 and both look the same and also mj they look the same and the serie mod look the same as the movie.
Back then when I was 7 years old,the atmosphere freaked me out,it was too dark and the shading was a little bit weird, idk if they did it on purpose or they just couldn't make it brighter
The animation was so clunky but the story was so good, like when Stan Lee voiced that man who manipulates Peters grief into revenge and create a noose to hang Kraven.
After seeing this episode, I'm planning to have Rob Zombie reprise his role as Dr. Curt Connors when I make my own Spider-Man series. Unique to my series, Connors will actually be a salamander-lizard hybrid. The reason for that being is realism. To avoid the science complaints, the lizard serum will actually be a combination of lizard AND salamander DNA because real lizards can't regrow limbs (save for their tails) while salamanders can. Therefore, Connors will be known as... "the Lizard-Mander". Oh, and guess what other regeneration DNA he put in the serum? Spider. Oh, the irony, I know.
0:20 peter is working for curt connors again was he fired in 1st movie and he is already working now 4:03 the show now takes 1 after the events of 1st movie and the death of green goblin 11:00 i wish betty brant would have been in show if she did her design would have been based on sora from digimon before she got her haircut or nami from from one piece before she got long hair 19:16 curt comes back in spiderman 2 and spiderman 3 and it is supposed to be canon
@@suyezlee6650 Yeah same. I remember only seeing the beginning of When Sparks Fly on MTV when I was a kid but I can’t remember why I didn’t actually finish the episode until I got the dvds several years later. I probably have suppressed memories of Electro LOL
Fun little fact Harry Osborn is voiced by Ian Ziering who voiced Nick Totoplolis in Godzilla the animated series. So Ian has experience with giant Lizards.
I really like this show, and not too long from now is the 20th anniversary of the series. Also if there will be a revival on the way, we can just use our imaginations to think about what might happen. Another thing, I've also been imagining different events that the original characters in this series go through ; only because I have this thing about shows, "What if this happened instead of that?", you know?
@@fluff_pup8091 exactly the pitch sounds higher and it doesn’t sound original which is annoying I even noticed it from the 90s spider man animated series on Disney plus too
This episode is where The amazing Spider-Man basically took indirect characterization on Spider-Man and the lizard. Then the party will also go to be another indirect characterization of electro for amazing Spider-Man 2 version of electro on his characterization on being a nobody.
Can we all agree the Lizard's design is how he should've looked in TASM (2012)? I understand they gave him lips to resemble his first appearance and give him facial expression and proper sentences when speaking, but I feel he would've been scarier if he didn't talk. Maybe he could talk when he first transformed but the longer he stays the Lizard, the more he looses his humanity, including his voice and human features. Thus half way, he become a giant monsterous reptile. And the less human he is, the scarier he is. (Which this episode proved that.)
I remember summer of 03 or 04 i saw this premier on MTV one night and i was like WTF is this lol was instantly hooked, love the animation the villains, and just seeing spider man be spider man, plus rob zombie was DR conners
I wish they showed us flashbacks of norman osborn as the green goblin in this show. Been wondering how the greeb goblin would've looked like in this earth, probably like his raimi counterpart.
omg i remember this from my childhood, these brought back good memories, thank you for uploading these, keep up the good work and forget about the haters
4:34 Doc Conners looked like he got his arm back, since there is blood visible from the bandages, but I’m guessing it wasn’t fully functional or that it needed two more injections.
I love how macabre this series is. Thats so rare in the west. There are tons of japanese cartoons with pecimistic endings, but rare to find one in the west. This is one of my favorite episodes along with the finale.
@@bradleyforney4520 I don't use that type of language in public. I only use the term cartoon or animation. Japanese use the A-word to describe all types of animation regardless of country of origin. Except the cartoons from Czech is called Czech anime due to their popularity in japan. Czech anime like Krtek (Mole) for instance. Western audience innappropriated a foreign word by changing it's meaning like they do to every other cuItures.
@@KennyOmegasCavity I'm not feeling sorry for you for saying that but negative but japanese folks in japan were not say that cartoons but I feel pity you for nothing know anything about anime like western countries who knows nothing but make me laugh at you was such harsh 😏 why not just leave them alone because I'm getting tired of your cocky comments,if you do that then go ahead reply all you want, its either way makes a cartoon character who got no balls or correct, scolding of yours sure but at the end your wrong about them who made anime in japan but your pitiful comments is such short
You know, it's too bad this show broke away from the Raimi continuity (one obvious example is Connors dying here and Spider-Man 2 showing him alive and no mention of him being the Lizard), cause this show could of helped give the Raimi universe mare variety of stuff that the movies didn't touch on. Like villains such as Lizard, Electro, Kingpin, Kraven, and Silver Sable. I know the video games kinda do this, and this was the original intent of the show. But still it's too bad. Good show either way.
I loved the series and design on this animated series to Spider-man series since my childhood days. I missed this show when it was on MTV, I still have the whole DVD set to the season. I wish they hadn't cancelled this animated series to Spider-man just to show what would Venom look like or sandman in this show.
Insomniac’s doc ock is kind of like this lizard but on a larger scale. Both are respected men Peter looks up to, and on the surface, they appear to help out amputated/physically handicapped people, and are working on an experiment to replace missing limbs, but as it turns out, they actually have a secret ulterior motive; a revenge scheme against Osborn. This proves that lizard is actually one of Spider-Man’s best villains. More than people credit him. Cus the two best doc ock stories (Sam raimis Spider-Man 2/ Spider-Man ps4) are stealing from the lizard.
