Hands down, the best name drop in any super hero movie. It respects the title of Spider-Man by having Bruce Campbell himself say it's a better one, announces it a cool way that makes sense in universe, and they even get the full title of the comic in and have it work. Forget the jokey sarcastic remark that a character then takes on as their title for whatever reason, this is how you get your hero's name across.

This movies is the best at depicting the meaning of responsibility. My dad took me to watch this as a kid and that’s the first serious inspiration I got from watching it.

Fun Fact: In the official novelization of the movie, it is revealed that Uncle Ben and Aunt May actually watched Peter fight Bone Saw on the TV. Aunt May even noted the balaclava the Human Spider is wearing looks a lot like the one she bought for him on his 14th anniversary. Also she said "you have to wonder what kind of home life someone like that would come from, to put himself in a situation where he'll likely get himself killed. That costume, this insane stunt... I'm telling you, Ben, this is a cry for help." Also she was very surprised by the name Spider-Man, she said it twice in shock, to which Ben replied "Apparently he does whatever a spider can," (as a reference to the 60's Spider-Man TV Show's intro song) May said if she were his mother, she'd give him a piece of her mind. Ben says "If I run into him, I'll be sure to tell him you said so, I've got more than enough to worry about in trying to figure out what I'll say to Peter" This is ironic, because they have no idea Spider-Man IS Peter. Also, it is revealed that Bone Saw McGraw's real name is Bone Saw Leibowitz, but he changed it to avoid possible anti-Semitism. Also, it is mentioned that Bone Saw battled Jack Murdock - Matt Murdock's (also known as Daredevil) father. He had flaming red hair and was dressed in a costume of yellow and dark crimson. Later in the story Jack Murdock gets kidnapped by thugs, but Spider-Man saves him and he calls his son Matt, saying "Matt, wait until I tell you about Spider-Man, a genuine daredevil who saved your old man"

I'ma be honest, *this* was my introduction to the macho man randy savage. I did watch pro wrestling during this time, specifically the wwf, but randy was long gone by this time. He was with another organization by then: wcw. But looking back at his career, there really was no mistaking randy savage with that iconic voice of his, and his wrestling style. What a great casting call by Sam raimi et al.

It's a lot like the cartoon! So realistic! Very true to the comics! I love it! And the story elements, visual style, live-action sequences, costume design, and faithfulness to the source material are all enough to not only look realistic compared to the animated series, but look almost closer to a classic comic '90s film than a superhero film released in the 2000s! I mean, there are just some certain scenes that aren't superhero movie like, but something that looks like happened in the '90s, like a fat kid eating a jelly doughnut, scenes involving the military, the scene with the ladies taunting Peter, a few characters with raspy voices and costume designs such as the punk rock girl, opinionated police officer, bus driver, military leader, two robbers stuck on a web, subway guitarist, and police cars driving through the night! That stuff is so the '90s and the 2002 version of Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man movie of all-time!

Macho Man was so charismatic! Saturday morning wrestling after cartoons was our routine growing up and it was a real treat to see the greats like The Macho Man! May he rest in peace!

This movie holds a very special place in my heart, as does Maguire's portrayal of my favorite superhero character. I've been a spidey fan since I was 7 and I'm over the hill now, but some things never change. Just saw the new release on Christmas day and I will give each Spiderman actor props, But for me, Maguire's the GOAT.
